Summary

The New York Times bestselling series!

Jules Ember confronts the girl who is both her oldest friend and greatest enemy in the highly anticipated sequel to Everless, praised by New York Times bestelling author Stephanie Garber as “an intoxicating blend of blood, secrets, and haunting mythology。”

Jules Ember was raised hearing legends of the ancient magic of the wicked Alchemist and the good Sorceress。 But she has just learned the truth: She is the Alchemist, and Caro—a woman who single-handedly murdered the Queen and Jules’s first love, Roan, in cold blood—is the Sorceress。

The whole kingdom believes that Jules is responsible for the murders, and a hefty bounty has been placed on her head。 And Caro is intent on destroying Jules, who stole her heart twelve lifetimes ago。 Now Jules must piece together the stories of her past lives to save the person who has captured her heart in this one。

Perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard, Kiera Cass, and Kendare Blake, Evermore is the high-stakes, star-crossed follow up to the New York Times bestselling Everless that fans have been waiting for。

Read everless probably 2 years ago so I didn’t remember much anything and therefore didn’t really enjoy this book

I will admit that I was excited to get to the conclusion of this duology after reading Everless。 However, this book was lacking something。 It almost felt too rushed to reach a conclusion to me。 The heart-breaking twist was a neat addition that I was not expecting which did help save the fast ending。

This one was super, super slow。 Almost nothing happened during the first half of the book and most of the book took place far away from the actual conflict between the characters。 Hello??? Where was all that action that the first book was setting us up for? Plus the inconsistencies annoyed me。 I assumed in the previous book, it would be explained why the bleeders attacked the queen and her procession; it seemed to be written to indicate its importance。 But nope。 And how Liam literally disappears This one was super, super slow。 Almost nothing happened during the first half of the book and most of the book took place far away from the actual conflict between the characters。 Hello??? WHY did Liam like Jules in the first place?? please someone explain to me how that whole thing started。 Their little romantic moments。 I loved。 Maybe I was just being emotional late at night but。 I liked it。 Made my heart skip a beat of how sweet。 Also that little moment where Jules is the most wanted person in the kingdom and yet (view spoiler)[ she's making out with Liam in the CASTLE in his ROOM where ANYONE could've wanted in。 (hide spoiler)]Also, wish the whole plot with the danger wasn't as straightforward as it seemed。 I was looking forward to some maggggick or smth from the alchemist!! Secret rooms were cool tho。 Totally down with that。Not my favourite read, but it worked out fine。 。。。more

unfortunately, the second book of this duology fell a bit flat :( the first book started out strong and had interesting plot line that set it apart from other fantasy books, ( in everless, blood is traded in for 'time') but despite it being a major factor in the first book, it wasn't as big in the second and lost the part that got me interested in the book in the first place。 the book itself wasn't bad at all, i enjoyed the characters a lot but i thought that the plot lost momentum, causing me t unfortunately, the second book of this duology fell a bit flat :( the first book started out strong and had interesting plot line that set it apart from other fantasy books, ( in everless, blood is traded in for 'time') but despite it being a major factor in the first book, it wasn't as big in the second and lost the part that got me interested in the book in the first place。 the book itself wasn't bad at all, i enjoyed the characters a lot but i thought that the plot lost momentum, causing me to gradually lose interest in the book。 。。。more

Wow what an ending! Stunning twists and writing! Never thought it would end this way and although the ending again (like the first book) seemed a bit rushed, it was powerful and unlike any other book。 A masterpiece of a book to end the series。

Plot twists at each step。 Nice!

i give this 3。75/5 stars, falling just short of 4 solid stars。it is very rare these days we get a nice clean plot and story that is wrapped with mystery。 i cannot say i liked this book as much as the first book- i didn't quite like the flashbacks, or the fact that jules spent 1 entire book hating liam and immediately now falling in love with him but i guess it is a good thing that romance wasn't the main plot。 i would like to have seen more characterisation of caro and ina, but i get that cant b i give this 3。75/5 stars, falling just short of 4 solid stars。it is very rare these days we get a nice clean plot and story that is wrapped with mystery。 i cannot say i liked this book as much as the first book- i didn't quite like the flashbacks, or the fact that jules spent 1 entire book hating liam and immediately now falling in love with him but i guess it is a good thing that romance wasn't the main plot。 i would like to have seen more characterisation of caro and ina, but i get that cant be done since it is first person pov。 this duology is not anything remarkable or must-read, but it is a duology that feels great to read。 i devoured this book in 1 sitting, really telling of how fun the story was。 not everyone can like a simple book, and it is clear from all the reviews, but i think it is nice and refreshing in the YA genre。 。。。more

Why are second books in a series so bad? This was a long boring slog to a stupid ending。 I loved the first book but this was not good at all。

Tried to plow through it but by page 126 it started to drag and I gave up。 I enjoyed the first book however this one just chugs along and chugs along with nothing much to make me want to stay up late to find out what happens next。

Good plot twists but a little boring at times。 I just got bored。 But it's clean and I liked it。 Not a very long review because I just got booorrreeedd。 Lots of lost in here though, a lot of dead people。 Good plot twists but a little boring at times。 I just got bored。 But it's clean and I liked it。 Not a very long review because I just got booorrreeedd。 Lots of lost in here though, a lot of dead people。 。。。more

It was a fast read, the ending felt a bit rushed though, as well as the (view spoiler)[relationship between Jules and Liam all of a sudden。 She was afraid of him, didn't trust him and suddenly at the end (in the space of like a week) she realises she's in love with him。。。 Right。。。 (hide spoiler)]。。 But all in all, it was a good book。 It was a fast read, the ending felt a bit rushed though, as well as the (view spoiler)[relationship between Jules and Liam all of a sudden。 She was afraid of him, didn't trust him and suddenly at the end (in the space of like a week) she realises she's in love with him。。。 Right。。。 (hide spoiler)]。。 But all in all, it was a good book。 。。。more

What a very sad, tragic, but fantastic ending to an intriguing story! Highly underrated and high recommend this duology。

Maddly Peculiar

A perfect contrast to the first book。 I did not enjoy most of the storyline up until the ending。 The ending is really what saved the book from a three star review。 Before that, the main character was very shy and timid and always making the wrong move but I was glad to see her become what she needed to be。 I like that the author set up the option to write a third book without making it a necessity。

2。5 ⭐️。。 unfortunately I don’t think this book can hold a candle to the first one。。 even the “big” revelation at the end was quite predictable whereas Everless was so thrilling and full of plot twists。。

I wish Holland would have kept this duology as one book instead。 It could have easily been wrapped up in Everless。My main irk about these two books is the lack of relationship building。 Like。。。 WHY did Jules fall in love with Liam so dang fast? There wasn’t really a turning point in their relationship, she just fell head over heels without a reason。 The last two chapters saved this entire book。 I really did like the ending honestly。 Just kind of dragged through the first 30 chapters 🤦🏼‍♀️

Everless ends with a bunch of truth bombs dropped。 The three big things revealed are Jules’s family, Jules’s identity, and the identity of her nemesis。 This nemesis has tortured and killed her eleven times。 Now she is trying to break Jules’ heart and reclaim her own。 Eleven deaths don’t bode well for this life。 Jules decides that the cycle stops here and journeys through her past for some knowledge or weapon to help her come out on top the next time she faces off against the Sorceress。Check out Everless ends with a bunch of truth bombs dropped。 The three big things revealed are Jules’s family, Jules’s identity, and the identity of her nemesis。 This nemesis has tortured and killed her eleven times。 Now she is trying to break Jules’ heart and reclaim her own。 Eleven deaths don’t bode well for this life。 Jules decides that the cycle stops here and journeys through her past for some knowledge or weapon to help her come out on top the next time she faces off against the Sorceress。Check out the full review and parent guide on The Book Nanny! 。。。more

This one wasn't as good as the first book。 The pace was stunted and it didn't fulfill anticipation promises made in the first book。 Still worth time to find out what happens and wrap up the story, but not comparable to its first half。 This one wasn't as good as the first book。 The pace was stunted and it didn't fulfill anticipation promises made in the first book。 Still worth time to find out what happens and wrap up the story, but not comparable to its first half。 。。。more

I really liked this book series!! I have to admit, it wasn’t the best plot, but it still was entertaining to read。 Also- Liam and Jules are goals!! 10/10 would recommend!!
