I pretty much raced through this volume and actually there were so many amazing moments I loved, making me happy and whiny, I should rate this with 5 of 5 stars but I unfortunately can’t without feeling like betraying myself because there was a certain revelation which might have been meant to be mind-blowing (and it was in some way) but I kind of predicted it, so I couldn’t admire this situation as I was supposed to。 This is disappointing and I only can give 4 stars which still is pretty good, I pretty much raced through this volume and actually there were so many amazing moments I loved, making me happy and whiny, I should rate this with 5 of 5 stars but I unfortunately can’t without feeling like betraying myself because there was a certain revelation which might have been meant to be mind-blowing (and it was in some way) but I kind of predicted it, so I couldn’t admire this situation as I was supposed to。 This is disappointing and I only can give 4 stars which still is pretty good, honestly。 So, why did I love this volume so much? Firstly, Djoser!! Well, actually Im and Djoser。 I felt so proud of Im when he told Djoser he’d free him from Apophis and Djoser’s reaction was pure gold。  One might have assumed, our prince loathes his deceitful best friend, oblivious to what truly happened。 But Djoser literally sheds tears of happiness and is “overjoyed”!  I felt so endlessly happy at this moment and how Apophis called it a friendship was highly appreciated by me! This entire scene only serves to fuel my hope for Im (and his crew) succeeding! Im was also so brilliant how he growled at Apophis: ”Would you stop imitating my pharao?” Seriously, I wish time to be rewound and Djoser becoming the pharao three thousand years ago and Im his vizier! It’s amazing how greatly Im fights to reach his aims, always keeping Djoser but also the others in mind and I always tear up whenever Im is happy and grateful not to be alone anymore。 The character growth here is satisfying in all means。 And Im really fights hard and is unstoppable putting his body over edge。。。 I actually was speechless when Im 。。。 。。。。。。 。。。 died。 But the following scene was more than I could have asked for。 I’ve always been quite intrigued and amazed by Atum, the head of the ennead, the first god, the godliest of gods! Though he seemed 。。。well, not entirely indifferent about what was going on (I mean, if he was, he wouldn’t have decided to wake Imhotep up) but at least more like the observing kind of protagonist。 And of course he knows more about literally everything, also more than Im。 Okay, not really surprising, considering Im didn’t even know all details about the black snake, the creation of hell, hell’s gate, miasma, etc。 In contrast, it’s actually mind-blowing when Im’s informed there’s even more about himself to know and when that term ”true name” was used, I was confused, just like Im。 Confused but curious。 The actual truth followed soon and if you’ve read my review of volume 7, you’re aware I had already surmised Thoth to show up sooner or later buuuut I would have never ever thought, it would happen in this way! No spoilers。。。but I’m intrigued, confused and worried all the same! Whooopsie, I meant to talk about Atum。 There’s actually too less I know about him。 But there were words he said which touched me so deeply。 About the persons you love and wish to protect。 And about forgetting yourself。  This is Atum’s vessel talking here but I wonder how much of those words weren’t spoken by Atum himself。 Maybe all of them。 Maybe none。 It’s mysterious in the way I love it。 Whatever the answers might be, he is one of my favorite characters and I can’t await to learn more。 It’s quite satisfying to even see more。。。 ”human” sides and traits of the gods! Plus, considering how Atum (‘s vessel) talked about the ones he loved。。。 what is this supposed to mean?: Oh, while I’m talking about my favorite characters, let’s direct the focus to。。。。Ausir of the house Osiris! //fangirl squealing// This volume actually was greatly about him! (No surprise as he’s on the cover。) I loved it。 He made me cheer and squeal but he also made me go crazy about what he did。 I experienced quite a rollercoaster thanks to that noble guy。 His past was devastating and I’ll add him to the list of character I want to protect and keep warm and comfy。 Luckily, he has Hapi, Lato and Yuuto on his side。 Despite all his insanity, I could see a sort of reasoning and don’t we all ask for the purpose of our live one time or another? It must truly feel like the end of the world if you lose you’re purpose and destiny。  I can’t relate but I do my best to understand him and eventually I’m glad what great development he achieved within this volume。 It’s such a warm feeling to the heart to see him with his siblings, together and happy about it。 I hope, their bond will last and they can be a true family from now on。 And I hope Ausir and Hapi will join team Im because, seriously, team Im seems to be in need of great help。 I mean, there’s Apophis, there’s Thoth, what about Im now。。。? The plot, all its complications and revelations, has become pretty thick and more so the situation seems desperate。 But hey, the moon was up, a new day just started, and with it hope may raise and shine~ 。。。more
