Even an invincible ninja may not be able to survive Hell’s Paradise!

Gabimaru is a ninja on death row with one chance to see his wife again—by finding the elixir of immortality on a supernatural island and delivering it to the shogun。 Standing in his way are his fellow convicts and the fearsome beasts that roam the island, devouring or killing anyone they encounter。

The conflict between the ruthless bandit Aza Chobe and Gabimaru the Hollow explodes into an all-out battle! Chobe, already a formidable foe, has found new levels of strength thanks to the influence of tao。 Can Gabimaru's skills prevent his death at the hands of this monstrous enemy, or will the pint-size ninja finally lose?

I feel like I'm not supposed to like Chobe and Toma as much as I do but their entire plot is wanting to be strong enough for each other and sibling bonds like that hit me in the feels I feel like I'm not supposed to like Chobe and Toma as much as I do but their entire plot is wanting to be strong enough for each other and sibling bonds like that hit me in the feels 。。。more

CW: Graphic violence, sexual content, dub con, age up trope (think Nell from Bleach) This series has some pretty fantastic pacing, and even the slower moments are spent wisely。 We get some answers about the island and it’s inhabitants, and we get to see a bit more out of each of our “newer characters”。 I was a bit disappointed this went the way of having an Age Up type character while also including weird comments about it。 I get that the character is immortal and older than pretty much every pe CW: Graphic violence, sexual content, dub con, age up trope (think Nell from Bleach) This series has some pretty fantastic pacing, and even the slower moments are spent wisely。 We get some answers about the island and it’s inhabitants, and we get to see a bit more out of each of our “newer characters”。 I was a bit disappointed this went the way of having an Age Up type character while also including weird comments about it。 I get that the character is immortal and older than pretty much every person currently in the story minus a few, but it just hits wrong。 I am still loving the weird twist and turns this is taking, and the imagery is unsettling in a compelling way。 。。。more

I really, really, REALLY like the pacing of this series。 I was nervous when I heard the series ended and it would only be 13 volumes, but the pacing's been both tight yet quick that I have no doubt it could wrap up nicely at 13 volumes。This volume was full to the brim with incredible fight scenes, and I loved the imagery in the fight between Chobe and Gabimaru。 First off, that fight was dope to begin with, but that scene where Gabimaru is starting to remember his wife, she puts her hand on his s I really, really, REALLY like the pacing of this series。 I was nervous when I heard the series ended and it would only be 13 volumes, but the pacing's been both tight yet quick that I have no doubt it could wrap up nicely at 13 volumes。This volume was full to the brim with incredible fight scenes, and I loved the imagery in the fight between Chobe and Gabimaru。 First off, that fight was dope to begin with, but that scene where Gabimaru is starting to remember his wife, she puts her hand on his shoulder, and he uses his aura to cut her arm off was SO cool。 Shadows and paneling really make the fight scenes pop, though sometimes it can be hard to tell what's going on。More worldbuilding is given and we finally get a better idea as to what the island is and why such strange events are occurring。 I'm amazed that I never feel like the exposition is boring or is bogging down the story, despite there being a lot of exposition to dump。 While I wouldn't say this is the most compelling story, the mystery-horror elements keep me engaged。Anyway, this was another great volume in a series I'm shocked I love as much as I do。 Well done, Kaku! 。。。more

Another action packed and gruesome volume in this series。I am really enjoying the development of the characters and how the island and it's inhabitants are become more violent。 Seeing the Tensen's plans unfolding is wild; they are creepy。I'm excited to know more and how these new characters will add to the overall plot。Thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review。 Another action packed and gruesome volume in this series。I am really enjoying the development of the characters and how the island and it's inhabitants are become more violent。 Seeing the Tensen's plans unfolding is wild; they are creepy。I'm excited to know more and how these new characters will add to the overall plot。Thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Not recommended! His fire attacks keep them at an even level, but with Chobe regenerating and then losing himself to the plant monster part of him spells trouble for Gabimaru。 Mei uses her own power to get them away at a cost to herself, and then they all meet up with the other group, with Toma in tow as a captive。 Chobe meanwhile encounters Rien who has come to check him out, and, well he is no match right now against the Tensen is he?With all of them reunited, they can formulate their next plan of action。 Getting off the island should be a priority but getting to the elixir is of import to Gabimaru。 We know from the further explanations provided by Mei, about how the island is created, and what the Tensen are, but the elixir is still out of reach。 And as the reinforcements make landfall, it seems their troubles are about to multiply。 With the Iwagakure, who are in a large number, ordered to kill Gabimaru on sight, it is going to make one very awkward meeting for all involved。 With the numbers of the Yamada Asaemon clan so few, I have doubts as to whether they will be able to stand against them, if they even do。 It is going to be a vicious battle in the next book, I suppose!Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review from Viz Media LLC, via Edelweiss。 。。。more

Epic battles, cannibalism, and maybe the elixir of life! Just another day in Hell's Paradise。。。This volume does not disappoint readers! The plot immediately picks up with Gabimaru battling Aza Chobe while suffering from memory loss。 Yamada Asaemon Sagiri and her group are trying to reconnect with the others。 More pieces of the Tensen puzzle come together with a big reveal of the overarching plot。 However, as readers should come to expect with this series, there are more questions than answers at Epic battles, cannibalism, and maybe the elixir of life!
