Dante can finally ascend up into Paradise。 He is shocked and Beatrice explains that it is because he lost all the weight of his sin he can now ascend to God。 “All Being within this order， by the laws\ of its own nature is impelled to find\ its proper station round its Primal Cause…If you， free as you are of every dross，\ had settled and had come to rest below，\ that would indeed have been as marvelous\ as a still flame there in the mortal plain。” （Canto 1， lines 109-111 and lines 139-142） This s Dante can finally ascend up into Paradise。 He is shocked and Beatrice explains that it is because he lost all the weight of his sin he can now ascend to God。 “All Being within this order， by the laws\ of its own nature is impelled to find\ its proper station round its Primal Cause…If you， free as you are of every dross，\ had settled and had come to rest below，\ that would indeed have been as marvelous\ as a still flame there in the mortal plain。” （Canto 1， lines 109-111 and lines 139-142） This states several important truths 1。 We could all be taken up to heaven as Enoch right now were we perfect， 2。 Sin forever prevents any clear view of the divine glory while stuck down here on earth， 3。 All things are built around God。 Dante is already regaining much of his perspective。 He is no longer lost spiritually as he was at the beginning of the trilogy。Dante travels through the levels of heaven。 Fearful am I to critique such a great man; nevertheless， he does not well to place Beatrice at such a level of glory as he does。 In Canto 1 line 85 she reads his thoughts， he calls Beatrice a sun in Canto 3 line 1， a Fountain of all truth in Canto 4 line 116， and infallible in Canto 7 line 19。 There are several of references but time fails me。 To crown it all， though， in Canto 31， he offers up a prayer to Beatrice。 Mary also is called the Queen of Heaven （Canto 31， line 100）。 The only reference we find to the queen of heaven in the Bible is when Jeremiah rebukes it and prophesies doom on the remainder of Israel in still in the Promised Land in Jeremiah 44。 It shocks we Dante would pick this title。To be fair， almost everywhere in the Bible， when someone sees an angel or a deceased and glorified saint they want to worship them。 But in every single instance they are always told expressly not to。 In Revelation 19:10 when John wants to worship an angel， the angel rebukes him and tells him not to。 In Acts 14， Paul and Barnabas risk their lives to tell people not to worship them。 Now if Paul refused worship before his death， it is highly unlikely he would establish it after his death。 However， it is all made worth it for the last canto。 In that canto he done looking at saints。 He now turns his gaze towards the divine beings。 He is overwhelmed。 It nearly kills him。 Only an infinitesimal point of light can he see representing the Trinity。 On of the three beings or lights has a human shape。 For one second he sees the Trinity， and then he falls unconscious and wakes up at his desk。So the greatest lessons I learned from this book were God is at the center of all， that is， not to be caught up in earthly matters because those are fleeting; and as a Baptist this really helped me ponder and meditate on the glories of God。 This trilogy really helped me in those areas。 。。。more

Exquisitely beautiful， did Dante get dizzy with all the endless spinning and blinding？？ Questions that need answering。 Heaven being this glorious and wonderfully constructed needs to be taught as compulsory RE/catechesis， not just Inferno…Also John Ciardi’s translation is great， lots of informative footnotes which made it much more enjoyable to read。

A beautiful ending to Dante's adventure！ I think part of it may be that as I read the Divine Comedy， I become more familiar with Dante's（and the translator's） style and could understand what he was saying more often。 It's a hard book to understand at times because it's very poetic but also presumes exterior knowledge。 The biblical references were fine for me since I'm familiar with the Bible（except for the books in the catholic Bible that were sometimes referenced）。 The Greco-Roman references w A beautiful ending to Dante's adventure！ I think part of it may be that as I read the Divine Comedy， I become more familiar with Dante's（and the translator's） style and could understand what he was saying more often。 It's a hard book to understand at times because it's very poetic but also presumes exterior knowledge。 The biblical references were fine for me since I'm familiar with the Bible（except for the books in the catholic Bible that were sometimes referenced）。 The Greco-Roman references where sometimes something I knew but sometimes something totally new to me。 The Italian/Modern day references I had no idea what he was talking about。 Florence's political situation was very complicated in Dante's day so I gave up trying to understand what he was talking about and that helped me enjoy the book more。 The depiction of heaven was very creative， I thought。 The Inferno was creative too but I feel like that version of hell has pervaded modern day depictions of hell so it wasn't new to me。 But the way Dante finds to depict heaven really gave me something to visualize other than angels playing harps on clouds。 Dante is obviously very cautious to say that Paradise was much more magnificent than what he's able to describe。 This is definitely an investment and big effort to get through but at the end， I feel like it was worthwhile。 It's nice that Dante breaks the divine comedy into 3 parts so that I could take long breaks after completing each part。 。。。more

Fenomenal！ Para mim pelo menos o Paraíso e o Purgatório são obras mais bonitas e difíceis de ler do que o Inferno。 A tradução do Ítalo Eugênio Mauro como sempre é fantástica， as notas da tradução são em geral muito boas。 Leitura quase que obrigatória entre os clássicos da literatura mundial。

الإلهي حتى يمكنه أن يعبر عن مجرد الظلال لما رآه في الفردوس وفي استعانة دانتي بأبوللو تقريب بين الوثنية والمسيحية。٩_ تؤكد بياتريتشي لدانتي على أنه لن يعرف الحقائق الأولوية بالأدلة العقلية بل بالإلهام。١٠_ ما يكسب الفردوس خاصيته الأساسية هو التعبيرات الصوفية المتألقة التي تظهر بين المباحث الفلسفية والعقلية。١١_ إذا كان الإطار العلمي الذي اتخذه دانتي في بناء الكوميديا يعد إطارًا علميًا
