Summary

This is a world divided by blood - red or silver。

The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers。 And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change。

That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace。 Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own。 One that threatens to destroy the balance of power。

Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince。 Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime。

But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart 。 。 。

I read this book twice, it was a good book, with an awesome plot。 Although I'm not going to give this book 5 stars because I didn't see much character development in this one book alone。 I'm not counting the entire series。 However, I would totally recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy books with plot twists! Over the Break, I read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and It was a really good book to read 。 I decided to read this book because I like to read fantasy, Young adult fiction etc and I found this while I was looking for a book in a bookstore。 This book is good because the Plot so far is she is pretending to be a lost princess to help her freedom and her family。 I can't wait to see what will happen when I finish the book and the other characters too。Also the story is very good with details and the Over the Break, I read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and It was a really good book to read 。 I decided to read this book because I like to read fantasy, Young adult fiction etc and I found this while I was looking for a book in a bookstore。 This book is good because the Plot so far is she is pretending to be a lost princess to help her freedom and her family。 I can't wait to see what will happen when I finish the book and the other characters too。Also the story is very good with details and the characters are good and go along with the story line , the setting is good for the plot and very detailed with the surroundings and the time, day, it also proves its time was a long time ago 。 This book could be better by having different characters' perspectives and not using one character; it could also bring more suspense to the story overall。 This book is good。I think people who like Young adult fiction。fantasy and people who like Queens, and kings etc will like this too。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down! Great plot and believable characters! The female protagonist is very likeable, with a great mix of strength and vulnerability。 It's also very clean as far as language and sexual content, which I appreciate。 Great read!

I was going through the ebooks on our main computer, as I was between books and changing from romance novels I really did not feel any genre special nor my "want-to-read" list has an item I'd been looking for to read with excitement。 And I found the first two books, and checked it and realized it has more books now than 3 years ago when I read them, so I started the series。The feeling is the same as during the first read, although I'm not rooting for any of the boys in the story。 I matured a lot I was going through the ebooks on our main computer, as I was between books and changing from romance novels I really did not feel any genre special nor my "want-to-read" list has an item I'd been looking for to read with excitement。 And I found the first two books, and checked it and realized it has more books now than 3 years ago when I read them, so I started the series。The feeling is the same as during the first read, although I'm not rooting for any of the boys in the story。 I matured a lot, so now I want Mare to be kickass alone and do not depend or long for a boy。 。。。more

It’s both good and bad。 I really with Goodreads would give a 2。5 option because it’s not really a two, I just had some issues with it。 Honestly I don’t really even remember it and I read it yesterday。 The issue I see is that Mare starts of making good decisions, but slowly just starts to act like every other YA heroine。 This spoiler will also spoil the rest of the series so only click it if you are okay with that。 Okay so Mare is quite possibly everything I could have liked in a heroine but then It’s both good and bad。 I really with Goodreads would give a 2。5 option because it’s not really a two, I just had some issues with it。 Honestly I don’t really even remember it and I read it yesterday。 The issue I see is that Mare starts of making good decisions, but slowly just starts to act like every other YA heroine。 This spoiler will also spoil the rest of the series so only click it if you are okay with that。 Okay so Mare is quite possibly everything I could have liked in a heroine but then she just had to make herself worse then the typical YA heroine。 Come on。 I mean J do get it, but this love triangle was the most FRUSTRATING thing out there。 It’s such a a amazing premise but I really wish that she wasn’t so immature on choosing Cal。 The thing is, I don’t like the hunger games。 I really don’t like Katniss or Peeta really。 But at least Katniss had something going on for her, you can’t deny that she was at least a well written character even if she made some poor decisions。 Also WORLD-BUILDING! UGH IT ANGERS ME BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIAL THAT WAS THERE! You can’t tell me that this could have been a AMAZING book had the world building been better。 Alas my hunt for the best dystopian/fantasy YA book continues。 Off to ACOTAR 。。。more

So good! I especially love the bad guys! Part of the beauty of the storytelling in this book is that being good and moral can be a matter of perspective, and how one's feelings, background and trust affect their views and actions and thus their perspective。 A great dystopian world that I can't wait to hopefully explore more in the sequels! I flew through this book pretty quickly; it has an easy rhythm and didn't take much to pull me into the story。 I think the depth of the characters was all that kept me from giving it a higher rating。 Sometimes it felt like characters accepted a supposed change of heart too quickly, such as when (spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't finished it!) Maven is convincing Farley that he can be trusted to join the Scarlet Guard。 Just seemed to win her over too quickly! 1。5 stars This gets 2 stars because I don’t really 1 star books unless they contain problematic themes or elements。My questions after finishing this book were: • How did this become so popular!? • How did it get that rating on GR? • Did I read the same book as everyone else? • When did silly writing, preposterous plotting and overall confusing and juvenile storylines become popular because this book ticks all those boxes?!RTC maybe

Ok so this wasn’t bad at all! I avoided this book for years thinking it would be a bit tropey for me and I’ll admit it was in places (chosen one, rags to riches, love triangle, rebellion against corrupt government) this book is very much a product of its time but I did actually enjoy it。 I loved how it reminded me of Red Rising with its class system of reds and silvers and I really liked the main character who was very reminiscent of Katniss Everdeen。 There was lots to like here and a lot of pot Ok so this wasn’t bad at all!
