This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 3。5， a bit slow but not bad， despite large swaths of the story being written from the first person perspective of the villain， a narrative choice that I kind of hate。So basically， something causes a person to recall previous trauma and they snap and take fatal revenge on their former abusers。 Which， ok， believable enough motive， except everyone was under the age of 6 at the time。 And yes， as someone with vivid memories of being bullied in preschool， I know it isn't so far fetched， but。。。 it was 3。5， a bit slow but not bad， despite large swaths of the story being written from the first person perspective of the villain， a narrative choice that I kind of hate。So basically， something causes a person to recall previous trauma and they snap and take fatal revenge on their former abusers。 Which， ok， believable enough motive， except everyone was under the age of 6 at the time。 And yes， as someone with vivid memories of being bullied in preschool， I know it isn't so far fetched， but。。。 it was still a little far fetched。 This wasn't just teasing and exclusion and the odd punch or shove。 They literally almost killed people， holding their head under water， stripping them and tying them to a light pole in the freezing winter， tying them up and leaving them in the middle of a busy street （and when a semi swerved to miss the child lying bound in the street， the driver slapped the tied up kid！）。 They stripped their victims， covered them in dog feces， cut off their hair， all kinds of stuff that I honestly can't see actual 4 and 5 year olds doing， not because they can't be thart cruel， but because it was simply too sophisticated。 And then the useless teacher who saw everything and did nothing。 Sadly， yeah， abusive teachers exist， but her behavior just didn't ring true。 There was a bit that suggested her avoidance/apathy was a response to her own abusive childhood/fear of her father's violence， but I struggle to see how that turned into her condoning child on child violence？ Like， was she scared of 4 year olds？ Did she just NGAF？ if so， why did she become a preschool teacher in the first place？Yeah， it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief。 Oh， like how it took the detectives FOREVER to see that the recent spate of murders （of 44 year-olds from the same area） were linked。 Oof。Upside， the characters were likable and reasonably well developed and the writing was pretty good。 And the sideplot with the officer investigating her own date rape was actually interesting， even if it felt shoehorned in。 。。。more
