Summary

Travis Hale has it all。 An important role as the chief of police in the idyllic town of Pelion, Maine。 Looks that regularly and consistently make women fall at his feet。 Two nephews and a niece he adores, and a family who’s mostly forgiven him after a series of unfortunate decisions years before。 Perhaps his past is riddled with regrets and misguided choices, but his future looks bright and limitless。

Until the new guy in town crosses him in a way both shocking and indefensible。

A guy who, as it turns out, has a sister who may be equally as disastrous to Travis’s well-ordered plans, though in an altogether different manner。 Not that there’s any real risk of him falling for the smoothie-making, birdseed-eating wild woman。 She’s not even his type。 A plant lady from California with a head of unruly curls and an equally messy past。 More than that, she’s only in town for the summer, busy mooning over perfect-in-every-way Gage Buchanan。

And if Travis knows anything, it’s that he refuses to be second best。 Ever again。

Haven Torres’s life fell apart。 Or more to the point, it burned to the ground。 At the time, it seemed like a solid idea to jump in her car, her brother a mostly-willing co-pilot, and embark on a cross-country adventure。

When they land jobs at an exclusive tennis and golf club in a picturesque lake town in Maine, Haven’s hopeful it might prove a summer to remember。 Especially if she can catch the attention of the most eligible bachelor in town and her current crush。 Even the kindest, most upstanding, perfect of men aren’t opposed to summer flings, right?

But when she meets the local police chief—all swagger and arrogance—and learns of her brother’s scandalous misdeed, she knows that Pelion is just another town where their stay is best 。 。 。 short-lived。 Still, she and Travis strike up an unlikely friendship and Haven sees that the gorgeous lawman isn’t only easy on the eyes, but he has 。 。 。 layers。 Not that she’s going to peel any of them。 He’s only her friend。 A friend willing to scratch her back, if she scratches his。

It seems simple enough。 She’ll help him make her brother sweat a little。 And he’ll help her win over Gage。 But before either Travis or Haven knows it, simple turns complicated, friendship gets flipped on its ear, passion faces down perfection, and they both discover that sometimes you have to lose it all to find exactly what you need。

"You tricked me, Travis Hale。" No, you tricked me。I listened to Archer's Voice in 2015, so it's safe to say I don't remember much, except that I loved that book so much! While Travis doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor, it is still a beautiful story of continued redemption for Travis Hale。Second best。 Second best。 You're nothing but second best。 And second best didn't even deserve a goodbye。Travis has been holding on to this grudge and resentment for years from when his father left and chos "You tricked me, Travis Hale。" No, you tricked me。I listened to Archer's Voice in 2015, so it's safe to say I don't remember much, except that I loved that book so much! While Travis doesn't hold a candle to its predecessor, it is still a beautiful story of continued redemption for Travis Hale。Second best。 Second best。 You're nothing but second best。 And second best didn't even deserve a goodbye。Travis has been holding on to this grudge and resentment for years from when his father left and chose Archer。 It made him bully Archer and made a whole town ignore Archer's existence。 After the ending of Archer's Voice, Travis is in better terms with his brother, his wife, and their kids。 He's even thinking of settling down with his girlfriend, until he finds her with Easton。 Leaving with the thought of revenge, he encounters Haven Torres, a curly-haired woman from California who's temporarily in Pelion Lake, and Easton's sister。 The pair start a friendship and they agree to help Easton sweat it out a little, as well as Travis becoming Haven's wingman。 But the more they spend time together, Travis realizes he wants Haven for himself。 "I was thinking that I'm glad we're friends。"He smiled。 "Me too。"Travis' pain really tugged my heartstrings。 Everything he did isn't excused at all, but his background helps understand so much why he did what he did。 His growth was tremendous and it was so nice to read his journey from who he used to be to the kind of man anyone would be proud of。"Your heart is made of gold, even if it is a bit tarnished。"Haven Torres is a fantastic woman。 I loved her character and everything she brought to the story。 While I understand this story is focused on Travis' journey, I would have loved to get to know more of Haven。 Nonetheless, I loved her quirky personality and her immense love of plants! I loved so much getting the interactions between Bree and Travis。 She started off still being hesitant towards Travis, but their relationship bloomed through the story。 And it was great to see him being an uncle to Bree and Archer's kids! Let me tell you, those kids are a hoot! They had me laughing so hard!"You are wanted。 You are so wanted by me。"Overall, Travis is a heart-warming redemption story combined with a love story that will bring you happiness, hope, while also tugging your heartstrings。 。。。more

It was lovely to go back to Pelion and fall for the town 6 years later。 Travis has changed so much and matured in some very important ways。 I loved seeing who he has become and how he deals with Haven Torres。Haven Torres is just supposed to be passing through for the season。 Her and her brother are modern day nomads and promise to never stay too long in one town。 Never get attached。 But what kind of love story would that be?Haven and Travis both have some scars and some inferiority they need to It was lovely to go back to Pelion and fall for the town 6 years later。 Travis has changed so much and matured in some very important ways。 I loved seeing who he has become and how he deals with Haven Torres。Haven Torres is just supposed to be passing through for the season。 Her and her brother are modern day nomads and promise to never stay too long in one town。 Never get attached。 But what kind of love story would that be?Haven and Travis both have some scars and some inferiority they need to get passed so they can be together and the journey was beautiful to see。4 stars2 on the spice scaleCW: death of a parent, drug use by parent 。。。more

I read Archer's Voice last year and couldn't wait to read Travis' story。 I love a good redemption story! When I read Archer's Voice, I had nothing but hatred for Travis。 He wasn't likable in the least until the very end when he put others before himself。 From the beginning of this book, it was evident that Travis went through a major metamorphosis; his relationship with Archer and his family was on a good note。 But his personal life left something to be desired。 He lost his girlfriend, his rental house was flooded that he had to check in to the B&B, and everyone in town was speculating he was the r When I read Archer's Voice, I had nothing but hatred for Travis。 He wasn't likable in the least until the very end when he put others before himself。 From the beginning of this book, it was evident that Travis went through a major metamorphosis; his relationship with Archer and his family was on a good note。 But his personal life left something to be desired。 He lost his girlfriend, his rental house was flooded that he had to check in to the B&B, and everyone in town was speculating he was the reason why his relationship fell apart。 When he met Haven Torres, she was the last person he expected to be his safe space, his own personal haven。 This book was riddled with self-discovery for Travis。 Feeling like second best his entire life, Travis doesn't feel worthy。 It didn't help that his mother fed him toxic thoughts, still wanting revenge for the husband who left her for Archer's mother。 I sobbed when Travis got rid of the evidence that he could claim half of Pelion Lake from Archer。 That exhibited the selflessness he's learned over the years。 Travis was a redemption story that showed that even the most hard-hearted of people can change and accept love and support, that they could be a pillar for someone else who needed to plant roots, that he was worthy of the love his brother and family gave him。 Spending time with Haven aided in Travis's metamorphosis。 It was with her that Travis could love and be loved。 I received an advance copy of this book at my request from the publisher and voluntarily left this review。 。。。more

I enjoyed this read。 It’s one of redemption as we follow our main character, Travis。 We have glimpses of Archer and Bree throughout。 There are quite a few heart to heart moments。 There is humor, love, and being the best version of oneself within this read。 It got a little heavy on the cringe and predictable towards the end。 Overall, I liked it。 It was interesting to see Travis’ perspective and experiences, especially when he reflected on his past。Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook。

First off, for anyone interested you definitely need to read Archer’s Voice first (which is not a knock for this at all, I just want any potential reader to get the full experience)。 I definitely enjoyed this one, of course it has the challenge of being a companion to Archer’s story。 I think in some ways this was a simplistic story that went by very quickly, maybe too quickly。 I think this couple could have benefited from some time jumps and got to grow their relationship throughout a summer vs First off, for anyone interested you definitely need to read Archer’s Voice first (which is not a knock for this at all, I just want any potential reader to get the full experience)。 I definitely enjoyed this one, of course it has the challenge of being a companion to Archer’s story。 I think in some ways this was a simplistic story that went by very quickly, maybe too quickly。 I think this couple could have benefited from some time jumps and got to grow their relationship throughout a summer vs a week for example。There were certain plot points that were dwelled on for too long in my opinion。 I was absolutely ready to redeem and forgive Travis and there was character growth, but some things felt a bit overstated。 Namely how Haven isn’t his type and how fixated he was on his “revenge” plot line。 I needed just a bit more from him at the start with this being 6 or so years from Archer’s Voice。That being said I actually did not mind the other man/other woman drama in this!! Other authors could take note。 It was handled very well in my opinion and I was living for the angst。This stayed at 4 stars for me。 It reminds me of early Samantha Young。 Overall worth the read but I don’t think I’ll be gravitating to rereads like I have with Archer’s。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Travis! I really enjoyed reading Travis’s story。 The book was a bit predictable but also interesting。 I liked watching Travis grow and learn from his mistakes。 Haven his love interest also did a lot of growing and learning from her past。 This story was all about growth and moving on and making the best out of some crappy situations。

Well, somehow Mia Sheridan pulled off a redemption story for Travis! If you've read ARCHER'S VOICE (if you haven't, you should totally read it before reading TRAVIS), then you already HATE Travis。 He was awful and one of the worse kinds of contemporary villains in a romance novel。 Luckily, its been a few years since Archer's story and Travis has had some time to grow up and mature a lot。 He and Archer have even healed a lot of their broken relationship。 Travis: cocky cop, always has to be the be Well, somehow Mia Sheridan pulled off a redemption story for Travis! * I received an e-copy of this book from NetGalley。 Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the gifted copy。 All thoughts are my own。 I really did love this book。 I read Archer’s Voice a couple years ago, back when I first discovered BookTok, and really loved it。 I chose to not refresh myself on it though because I wanted to give this book a chance as a stand-alone and I’m glad I did。 This whole book is about Travis’ sweet side and how he’s not a perfect person, but most people aren’t。 Haven has * I received an e-copy of this book from NetGalley。 Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the gifted copy。 All thoughts are my own。 I really did love this book。 I read Archer’s Voice a couple years ago, back when I first discovered BookTok, and really loved it。 I chose to not refresh myself on it though because I wanted to give this book a chance as a stand-alone and I’m glad I did。 This whole book is about Travis’ sweet side and how he’s not a perfect person, but most people aren’t。 Haven has a rough background and doesn’t plan to stay more than 4 months in any place。 We do get some glimpses of Archer and Bree and their family。 But most of those bits are to give us some insights on Travis and how close he is with his family now。 I just wish we got more of them actually together。 Overall, Travis and Haven seem so good together and I really enjoyed this story。 Definitely recommend! 。。。more

I’m slowly discovering Mia Sheridan through her new releases and her backlog being re-released and I’m easily becoming a fan!

As an AI language model, I don't have personal opinions or preferences, but "Travis" is a novel written by Nicole Edwards, published in 2016。 It tells the story of Travis Walker, a man who has always lived his life with integrity and responsibility。 When he meets his new neighbor, Paisley, his world is turned upside down as he finds himself falling for her。 However, he soon discovers that Paisley has secrets of her own that could ultimately end up destroying their relationship。 The novel is a romantic and steamy read with a bit of suspense and drama。
