"The Charm Offensive will sweep you off your feet。" -PopSugar

In this witty and heartwarming romantic comedy-reminiscent of Red, White & Royal Blue and One to Watch-an awkward tech wunderkind on a reality dating show goes off-script when sparks fly with his producer。

Dev Deshpande has always believed in fairy tales。 So it's no wonder then that he's spent his career crafting them on the long-running reality dating show Ever After。 As the most successful producer in the franchise's history, Dev always scripts the perfect love story for his contestants, even as his own love life crashes and burns。 But then the show casts disgraced tech wunderkind Charlie Winshaw as its star。

Charlie is far from the romantic Prince Charming Ever After expects。 He doesn't believe in true love, and only agreed to the show as a last-ditch effort to rehabilitate his image。 In front of the cameras, he's a stiff, anxious mess with no idea how to date twenty women on national television。 Behind the scenes, he's cold, awkward, and emotionally closed-off。

As Dev fights to get Charlie to connect with the contestants on a whirlwind, worldwide tour, they begin to open up to each other, and Charlie realizes he has better chemistry with Dev than with any of his female co-stars。 But even reality TV has a script, and in order to find to happily ever after, they'll have to reconsider whose love story gets told。

One of my favorite romance novels ever! While I have a couple nits to pick, they really don't detract from how much I loved this book。 My third read in the niche genre of romance (or romance-adjacent) novels that take place on the set of a reality dating show。 Both protagonists were so lovely and compelling。 I found the exploration of how they responded to each other's mental health needs (anxiety, depression, etc。) really wonderful。 Coming closer instead of pulling away when someone is having a One of my favorite romance novels ever! Truly the most beautiful and loving thing imo。 Discussion of the asexuality spectrum also ruled! Felt reeelatively natural within the novel when it could’ve easily veered into big time after school special vibes。 Also, often in romance novels the protagonists don't have friends? Granted in this one they have one friend each to start lmao, but I really appreciated those relationships! Overall just so delightful, fun, sweet, sexy, and captivating! Don't need to pit gay romance novels against each other but I personally feel this deserves more hype than Red, White, and Royal Blue。 If you enjoy romance and want to have a good time, read this book!! Cannot wait for the next in the series。Nits: didn’t love the talk of being “healthy,” which was basically watered down to going to therapy。 Also felt like Charlie’s compulsive exercise was overly normalized/glorified, esp since there was so much talk of how “perfect” his body is。 。。。more

I really fell in love with this book and all its characters。 It's so charming and funny and manages to talk about so many important issues, while also including so many different communities I rarely see in books。 so many asexual characters! characters with serious mental health issues (OCD, anxiety, depression), so many variants of queers~such a breath of fresh air!

What a roller coaster of emotions。 It’s so intriguing reading this and then thinking about all the reality dating shows I’ve seen。 Really makes me think about what goes in behind the scenes。 I really enjoyed the diversify, inclusivity, character developments, and the pace! Cute book!

This is the first re-read of the year。 Despite reading it less than a year ago it still holds up as a 5-star book。 The writing is wonderful the characters are relatable and real。 Charlie seems to be the only main character who is white, so a diverse and complex cast is rejuvenating。 The depiction of OCD, Depression, and Anxiety is well done and isn't played for laughs。 Both MCs seek help for their mental health and prioritize that above all else。 The discussion and representation of asexuality a This is the first re-read of the year。 Despite reading it less than a year ago it still holds up as a 5-star book。 The writing is wonderful the characters are relatable and real。 Charlie seems to be the only main character who is white, so a diverse and complex cast is rejuvenating。 The depiction of OCD, Depression, and Anxiety is well done and isn't played for laughs。 Both MCs seek help for their mental health and prioritize that above all else。 The discussion and representation of asexuality are realistic, and a major point in the story is that someone doesn't need to have their sexuality figured out by adulthood and that there is no shame in realizing it later。 The outlandish setting lends itself well to complex characters and a love story that is filled with communication and understanding and prioritizing your health above all else。 Just an all-around wonderful book 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 You know those books that just make you feel giddy? This is 100% that type of book。 Sweet, charming, funny, and ADORABLE。 I loved the growth from the main characters and even the show and secondary characters。 I used to watch the bachelor every season but had to stop with the lack of growth and progress…like get some body diversity on there! Have BIPOC contestants…。why are there no queer people? It’s just wild。 I love how we see this change and I absolutely adored it all!

I adored this book because the romance is so suspenseful but also because queer love is celebrated in so many ways。 The author also compassionately talks about mental health and romance in such a healthy way that I was really moved。 Definitely recommended。

Alison Cochrun is CEO of writing the most diverse characters! I’m not sure the cast could have been more diverse and the dialogue about privilege is interlaced so perfectly with her stories it’s almost like she’s writing real people that actually experience it。 I read her novel kiss her once for me first and I think I liked that one better but this was still such an adorable and worth while read。 The premise is so perfect and although the ending was predictable, I still liked the way things play Alison Cochrun is CEO of writing the most diverse characters! 。。。more

“I choose you” As someone who struggles with mental health ( ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and Emetophobia) how this book handles the discussion of mental health and sexuality with empathy was really beautiful to see。 I do need to mention though, if you struggle with emetophobia there are a few triggering parts throughout the book - but it fit within the storyline and some symptoms that can be triggered by your mental health。 Also discussing different spectrums of asexuality I really appreciated。 As “I choose you” As someone who struggles with mental health ( ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and Emetophobia) how this book handles the discussion of mental health and sexuality with empathy was really beautiful to see。 I do need to mention though, if you struggle with emetophobia there are a few triggering parts throughout the book - but it fit within the storyline and some symptoms that can be triggered by your mental health。 Also discussing different spectrums of asexuality I really appreciated。 Aside from all of that the story was really cute and definitely would recommend! 。。。more
