Lo mejor que he leído de este libro es La defensa del Elíseo。 Las demás historias son entretenidas， pero no pasan de eso。 Lo que me mantuvo pegado a la lectura fue la emoción de conocer otras perspectivas de los hechos narrados en las novelas principales。 Luego de La defensa del Elíseo， destaco a Perpetua。 Las otras dos novelas cortas también son buenas， pero esta última me dejó cosas que no puedo detallar aquí。 De todos modos， la pasé bien。 Necesito más del Citoverso。

This is three short stories so I'll rate them separately， but I also would give this collection 4 stars。SUNREACH 2 starsBy far the weakest of these three stories。 It was hard to keep reading。 I understand it had good information that helped fill in some gaps， but it was pretty boring。 This is probably the least interesting Sanderson I've read and I've read almost everything to date （haven't read his video game/RPG/or Wheel of Time， currently reading Lost Metal， and waiting for my copy of Tress）。 This is three short stories so I'll rate them separately， but I also would give this collection 4 stars。SUNREACH 2 starsBy far the weakest of these three stories。 It was hard to keep reading。 I understand it had good information that helped fill in some gaps， but it was pretty boring。 This is probably the least interesting Sanderson I've read and I've read almost everything to date （haven't read his video game/RPG/or Wheel of Time， currently reading Lost Metal， and waiting for my copy of Tress）。 I think FM is just a much better side character。 It is still beneficial to read this one because it sets the story for the next two。REDAWN 4 starsSo interesting。 The diverse worlds Sanderson is able to create in such a short amount of space is phenomenal。 Alanik is a very interesting character and it was really cool to explore a different society。EVERSHORE 5 starsJorgen is a great main character。 So many reveals in this book。 I love the Kitsen。 Just a great story！ 。。。more

Sunreach: Slow first half， really good ending。 Besides the romance， not sure if FM was the right perspective to tell the story from though。 Leaning towards a 3。5/5。ReDawn: Entertaining enough with an explosive ending， though this novella felt much more incomplete than Sunreach。 My conviction grows that this entire novella collection would've benefited from being from Jorgen's POV。 3/5Evershore: This novella was incredible。 INCREDIBLE。 Heartbreaking， thrilling and exhilarating， and I loved every Sunreach: Slow first half， really good ending。 Besides the romance， not sure if FM was the right perspective to tell the story from though。 Leaning towards a 3。5/5。ReDawn: Entertaining enough with an explosive ending， though this novella felt much more incomplete than Sunreach。 My conviction grows that this entire novella collection would've benefited from being from Jorgen's POV。 3/5Evershore: This novella was incredible。 INCREDIBLE。 Heartbreaking， thrilling and exhilarating， and I loved every minute of it。 5/5。Overall， a 3，8/5 （rounded up to 4）。 I stand firm in my opinion that this novella collection could've been entirely from Jorgen's POV and come out even better for it。 Maybe splicing it together with Cytonic into a dual POV， where only the best of those stories were kept？ Anyway， highly looking forward to the final book。 。。。more

All of the stories were good and adding to the main story。 The Taynix were my favorite creatures and they made me laugh when they did something。Favorite race: kitsen and the banter between Jorgen and the kitsen that challenged him to the duel， and the meditation sessions。

I was a little hesitant about reading the novellas， but I am so glad that I did。 It was really nice to get to know some of the characters more in depth， I have a much stronger connection to FM， Analik and Jorgen now。 This book is a definite need to read before Cytonic。

This collection of Novella's in the Skyward series are worth the read。 We go further into the characters of some very important people in the series。 There's more development in the world， and the science and magic of this particular universe。 I say magic as "magic is science that hasn't been fully understood yet" （I don't remember who said this so please don't come at me）， and we're getting much closer to understanding the how it works。 The first two in the collection were good， but the outstan This collection of Novella's in the Skyward series are worth the read。 We go further into the characters of some very important people in the series。 There's more development in the world， and the science and magic of this particular universe。 I say magic as "magic is science that hasn't been fully understood yet" （I don't remember who said this so please don't come at me）， and we're getting much closer to understanding the how it works。 The first two in the collection were good， but the outstanding one was the third--Evershore。 Each one was vital for the advancement of the series in general， or at least， in understanding the events that happen in the interim of reading about Spensa。 Each novella was centered around the perspective of one friend of Spensa in the original series。 FM being the protagonist of Sunreach; Alanik being the protagonist of ReDawn， and finally Jorgen being the main voice in Evershore。 Each novella brings us closer to what will eventually go down in Defiant， at least that is my belief， maybe it will have no relevance whatsoever to the fourth book in the series。 I still believe it is really important to read these novella's， though I don't believe it's exactly necessary。 I however， will be anxiousy and patiently waiting for the fourth in the series。 And will start looking at some books from the co-writer of this series since she has done quite a bit of writing for these novellas and how much I loved them。 :） 。。。more

5/5 stars This book revived my love for the Skyward series！ Skyward is one of my favorite books of all time， though I didn't enjoy Starsight or Cytonic nearly as much。 I went into this book curious but apprehensive， but it was everything I hoped for and more！ I highly， highly suggest reading this collection if you plan on continuing the Skyward series。 This collection is made up of three stories: Sunreach （which follows FM）， ReDawn （which follows Alanik）， and Evershore （which follows Jorgen）。 My 5/5 stars This book revived my love for the Skyward series！ Skyward is one of my favorite books of all time， though I didn't enjoy Starsight or Cytonic nearly as much。 I went into this book curious but apprehensive， but it was everything I hoped for and more！ I highly， highly suggest reading this collection if you plan on continuing the Skyward series。 This collection is made up of three stories: Sunreach （which follows FM）， ReDawn （which follows Alanik）， and Evershore （which follows Jorgen）。 My personal favorite was probably Sunreach， but I genuinely loved all three。 Sunreach focuses on what FM and the rest of Skyward Flight were up to as Spensa was away。 The Taynix play a large role in this story （which is great because I adore them！）， and I'm sure they'll continue to be incredibly important in the series。 I loved being able to see Skyward Flight again！ ReDawn provided fascinating insight into Alanik and her planet， and I thoroughly enjoyed her character as well as the world-building！ It was entertaining to read from her perspective since it was her first time meeting humans （and her interactions with Skyward Flight were very funny！） Evershore had an excellent balance of emotional and humorous scenes。 Jorgen is the focus of this story， and he struggles a lot here。 I can't elaborate on this story much without spoiling things， but we get more scenes with the Kitsen （who always make me laugh） and an epic battle scene starring Skyward Flight。 I appreciated Jorgen a lot more after reading this。 While this collection isn't necessary to read to understand the main series， it explains what goes on when Spensa isn't around and fills in a lot of gaps。 I would definitely suggest reading it before the fourth book releases。 In my opinion， this collection is a better book than both Starsight and Cytonic。 I sincerely hope Defiant is as good as this collection is！ 。。。more

I did really enjoy the first book in the series Skyward。 The characters were really fun。 Sanderson has yet to write a romantic pairing that don’t feel like two robots cosplaying as humans in love。 Other than that I really like all these characters。The second and third books in the series really fell flat for me because you introduce this vibrant cast of characters in the first book and the second book Spensa is like bye guys I’m going on a space adventure see ya never。 （Also the characters in th I did really enjoy the first book in the series Skyward。 The characters were really fun。 Sanderson has yet to write a romantic pairing that don’t feel like two robots cosplaying as humans in love。 Other than that I really like all these characters。The second and third books in the series really fell flat for me because you introduce this vibrant cast of characters in the first book and the second book Spensa is like bye guys I’m going on a space adventure see ya never。 （Also the characters in these books have some of the cringiest names） I really enjoyed these novella because we got these cast of characters back and got so many space slugs。 There were points in the plot that felt a bit weak where it was very Spensa centric even though she wasn’t in these novellas。 Overall this made me a bit sad because this is what I wanted from this series the entire time。 Why create a fun ensemble cast then immediately ditch them it makes literally no sense。 Also I would like less human adjacent aliens。 Space slugs were the best part of this book。 。。。more

Para empezar diré que estoy segura de que todos los relatos son muy necesarios para seguir la historia que venga tras citónica， no son simples "add-ons" son como otro libro diferente con la salvedad de que pasa durante los libros 2 y 3 de "escuadrón"。En mi opinión mejor leerlo cuando hayas acabado citónica。Consta de 4 relatos:1。 Protagonista FM。 （compi de escuadrón de Spensa y Cia， me cae genial）2。 Protagonista Alanik （Citónica del planeta Re-Alba que llega a Detritus al principio del libro 2 de Para empezar diré que estoy segura de que todos los relatos son muy necesarios para seguir la historia que venga tras citónica， no son simples "add-ons" son como otro libro diferente con la salvedad de que pasa durante los libros 2 y 3 de "escuadrón"。En mi opinión mejor leerlo cuando hayas acabado citónica。Consta de 4 relatos:1。 Protagonista FM。 （compi de escuadrón de Spensa y Cia， me cae genial）2。 Protagonista Alanik （Citónica del planeta Re-Alba que llega a Detritus al principio del libro 2 de escuadrón）3。 Jorgen （jefe del escuadrón cielo y noviete-in progress de Spensa）4。 Relato de el Elíseo （mucho tiempo atrás， pero mucho mucho， aún así mejor leerlo después de citónica， en mi opinión）Una vez hecha la introducción decir que los relatos están muy chulos， te metes en los personajes sin darte cuenta， es genial volver a saber de todos los que quedaron atrás en el primer libro， pero a mi se me hizo un pelín pesado algún trozo porque hay mucho combate espacial。Dicho esto empiezo los resúmenes con spoilers:（view spoiler）[1。 FMFM es Freya， la segunda en el escuadrón cielo， una piloto fantástica que nunca quiso serlo， ella quiere ser política para dar voz a los que no la tienen。Todo empieza tras la partida in extremis de Spensa。Alanik está inconsciente。En Detritus se quedan un poco out al marcharse Spensa y no poder contactar con ella ni con nadie。FM， Gali（el amigo ingeniero de la infancia de Spensa） y Jorgen se encuentran a las babosas y se dan cuenta de que hipersaltan。 Van atando cabos y se dan cuenta de que son los hipermotores。Y parecían tontos cuando los cambiamos por un botijo。。。Una relación ultra cuqui surge entre FM y Gali。FM pone nombres adorables a las babosas （abracitos， mimitos， bien。。。）。Parece que hay que "asustar" a las babosas para que hipersalten y eso a FM no le mola nada。Finalmente descubren que hay muchos tipos de babosa: babosa-hipermotor， babosa-comunicación- babosa- explosiva。。。2。 AlanikAlanik despierta， lleva unas semanas out y se pone super nerviosa porque la enviaron a Detritus a por ayuda urgente y ya pues como que se le ha hecho tarde。Habla con FM y Jorgen， se da cuenta de que es citónico y no entiende cómo está tan apardalao y tan infravalorado （ya verás ya。。。）Pide ayuda a Cobb para liberar a su pueblo de la supremacía。Cobb y el gobierno local no están de acuerdo。El gobierno （padres de Jorgen incluídos） quieren pactar con la supremacía （que también es normal， porque son chachi powerosos）。Alanik enseña un poco de citónica a Jorgen。El escuadrón cielo y Alanik se van a Realba。 （siguiendo una no-orden de Cobb que a Jorgen le cuesta mucho pillar）Allí va y resulta que Alanik forma parte de la resistencia contra la supremacía， pero muchos habitantes son pro-supremacía。El líder de la resistencia Rimalik， Rinakin， Rinomer。。？ whatever。。。 es secuestrado y sustituído。El escuadrón cielo lucha， se teletrasporta a "hoja errante" una plataforma en desuso de la supremacía parecida a las que orbitan detritus y se hacen con ella （toma ya！）Además consiguen rescatar a Rinomer y vuelven a Detritus con hoja errante y pilotos de la resistencia。Aquí aprendemos otro poder citónico que es "hojas letales"。Una relación surge entre Arturo （Anfi） y Alanik， pero in progress también。Cuando vuelven justo la supremacía ha quedado con los gobernantes de Detritus que se metan todos en la misma nave， con la única citónica que les queda （la abuela de Spensa， faltaría otro relato desde su punto de vista， sería genial）。 Estos no han visto mucha tele。。。 no les podemos culpar。Todo sale un poco mal y aunque consiguen rescatar a mucha gente los padres de Jorgen mueren， y Cobb y la Abuela se teletransportan a vete a saber dónde。 3。 JorgenJorgen está echo mierda porque sus padres han muerto frente a sus ojos y su madre le ha dicho "vete， hazlo mejor que nosotros"。 Estaban en una sala aislada que Jorgen no consigue abrir。 Cobb ha desaparecido， el gobierno también y todos están muy de bajón。Alanik enseña a Jorgen a "escuchar" y escucha a alguien que tiene a "sus humanos" y los quiere devolver， el escuadrón cielo se la vuelve a jugar y se van a ver quién es。Apunto que ahora saltar de un sitio a otro es súper fácil， le han cogido el tranquillo en cuestión de días。Va y resulta que se van a kitsune-kawaii-landia， el hogar de Hesho， un paraíso de islas estilo japonés con nombres tan largos como preciosos。Kauri （la segunda de Hesho） es ahora una jefaza y les ha llamado para devolverles a Cobb y la Abuela que están inconscientes。 Tienen un congreso a ver qué hacen y les ataca la supremacía （que están muy belicosos）Jorgen aprende a hacer lo de las hojas mentales。Un kitsune le enseña meditación （muy chula por cierto） para descubrir y controlar sus poderes。Jorgen hace lo que puede y。。。 salta a detritus a por más pilotos y a pedirle a Gali que lo arregle para llevarse plataformas defensivas。。。 se trae a pilotos de Realba， se carga a un montón de los malos con las hojas mentales。。。 （Spensa te estás quedando muy atrás） convence a cientos de babosas de Detritus para que les ayuden y no solo mueven plataformas defensivas。。。 sino hasta a Detritus （si el planeta） hasta Arroyo Sonriente。 （muy gracioso el momento de Kauri: oye 。。。 queeee me dicen los ciéntificos que están variando las mareas， que vamos a morir todos y que igual mejor la próxima vez que vayáis a mover vuestro planeta mejor avisais。。。。Pero no pasa y es que aquí te enteras de que Detritus tiene COngravs， me lo dieron con FM y Gali。 Además comenzamos a conocer a las babosas espaciales citónica， y son adorables :c， hasta me he replanteado mi hastío por estos moluscos en la vida real。Pero ya entrando en la trama no todo fueron risas， puesto ya que esta novela temporalmente se ubica entre la llegada del Zapador a Detritus y dos o tres semanas posterior a ello， por lo que se presentan varias decisiones complejas y a contra reloj para el escuadrón cielo。 Frases favoritas: （…）lo mire a los ojos， que eran de un azul profundo y claro， y tuve unos cuantos impulsos primarios propios （…）-¿El tarareo ha dado algún resultado？- Pregunto Gali。-Me ha hecho sentir idiota- dijo Jorgen-Es lo que dice la Santa- terció Kimmalyn – “Me siento， y luego soy” Realba 4。3⭐Le tenía mucha curiosidad a Alanik， me la figuraba un personaje muy dulce， valeroso y franco， tal cual como una princesa del Final Fantasy， por lo que me lleve una gran decepción al notar que era bastante similar a Spensa， pero mal ahí yo al andar con prejuicios de los personajes。Con respecto a la historia， nuevamente los hechos ocurren de un modo muy veloz por lo que continuamente pensaba en como el pobre escuadrón cielo siempre va corto de tiempo para enfrentar situaciones imposibles en las que se juegan la vida o las de todo su planeta。 Además， también se nos plantea un conflicto dentro del escuadrón， el cual al parecer implicará en cambios importantes a futuro。De esta novela me gustaron los cuestionamientos sobre las diferencias entre especies y como la tolerancia y el entendimiento son las únicas herramientas para la colaboración。 Solo espero que cuando ocurra esto en el futuro， la humanidad ya este a la altura de las circunstancias。 Frase favorita: （…）Las ligas estudiantiles matarían por echar mano a unas maniobras que ningún otro equipo había visto antes。 Quizás fuera esa la manera de convencer de nuestra alianza al resto de mi pueblo。 Aunque no entraran en razón para salvarse de la Supremacía， siempre se podía contar con que quisiera ver ganar a su equipo Perpetua 4。8⭐Oh Jorgen por Jebus pobrecito tu kokoro！！。 De este personaje nos dieron un maravilloso crecimiento personal， y lejos esto fue lo que me más ame de la novela… por una extraña razón， me sentir muy representada por Jorgen aun cuando no soy muy de eso de “seguir el protocolo”Con respecto a la historia， se presentan momento muy divertidos con los kitsen y debates interesantes sobre el verdadero alcance de la responsabilidad y el deber。 Algo que no me entusiasmo mucho fue lo fantástico de las soluciones al conflicto con la supremacía… lograron dejarme con la boca abierta， pero creo que Sanderson se pasó tres pueblos。 Frase favorita: （…）El problema era que los fracasos parecían tan gigantescos comparados con los éxitos que era fácil olvidarlo La defensa del Eliseo 3。8⭐Quiero saber más de Jason Write。La mini novela， como fue escrita antes de la saga， repara mucho en la explicación del mundo y casi nada en la historia de Jason， lo cual es un incordio cuando ya llevas toda la saga a cuestas。 Necesito saber más de las proezas de Jason y que me expliquen como la humanidad comenzó a desarrollar la citonia luego del siglo XXI。Escenas eliminadas de escuadrónDel inicio de escuadrón。 Entiendo y agradezco el cambio que se hizo， la Spensa que se muestra en esto capítulos no es el personaje que fue construido al final。 Cabe señalar que de estos capítulos me surge la duda sobre cuantas veces lo escritores rescriben capítulos。Relación Spensa y Jorgen。 Considero que fue una muy mala decisión sacar estos fragmentos del libro publicado， ya que en la saga dejaron de lado todo esto del desarrollo de personajes y únicamente me mostraron de un plis plas que se besaron en un momento limite ¿¿¡Donde quedo el romanticismo señor Brandon！？？ Estoy muy indignada。 Yo disfruto mucho de los capítulos ultraromantik de mis novelas favoritas， aun cuando estas no sean de tal género， así que sin lugar a dudas este This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Because this book is three in one I will be doing three separate reviews。 Sunreach2/5This felt aimless。 We have two weeks in the life of F。M。 instead of an interesting short tale of the station Sunreach。 Don't get me wrong the writing was terrific， I felt like I was on Platform Prime slug hunting with F。M。 and Rig。 I reread Jorgen's fake death three times but it felt off。 Jorgen has plot armor， no author in their right mind is going to kill off a character that narrates one of the next books。 On Because this book is three in one I will be doing three separate reviews。 Sunreach2/5This felt aimless。 We have two weeks in the life of F。M。 instead of an interesting short tale of the station Sunreach。 Don't get me wrong the writing was terrific， I felt like I was on Platform Prime slug hunting with F。M。 and Rig。 I reread Jorgen's fake death three times but it felt off。 Jorgen has plot armor， no author in their right mind is going to kill off a character that narrates one of the next books。 One of the other things that bothered me was the subplot that they started in the first chapter but forgot until it was convenient for them， the death and tragedy of war。 In the first chapter we meet and lose F。M。's friend Lizard。 Lizard died in the battle with the Superiority while the ships were all radio silent。 She died because of a lack of communication。 This was an awesome set up for later foreshadowing when they are outnumbered at Sunreach， all they had to do was kill off a character。 Personally I vote for Quirk， we， as readers are attached to her， we have Sadie whom we haven't met to take her place for any future plot， it's perfect！ But they didn't。 They faked Jorgen's and F。M。's deaths， teased us with the possibility of killing the rest of Skyward Flight， then saved everyone in the end。 DON'T MAKE A THREAT YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO KEEP！ They made this what I thought， an obvious foreshadow that someone later on would die， and then in this novella saved everyone。 Which is fun and cute， but also this isn't a comfort read， you don't have to cushion us like this。 To summarize， I enjoyed Sunreach， but I want more。 Reading this was like eating half a bag of Doritos for breakfast， they were tasty but not substantial。ReDawn3/5Good things first， that was a lot。 It was a good lot， but still a lot。 It gave us that promised emotional damage that the first book forgot， also ReDawn is amazing and creative。 Now the bad。 That was a lot for 207 pages， or it felt like a lot。 The end where ReDawn was freed， then immediately going out to stop the Weights from making the worst decision of their lives （or deaths） felt a little coincidental to me。 It should have been its own novella from Cobb’s or Jeshua’s perspective。 Evershore4/5Oh。 My。 Stars。 Some of my theories became canon here。 Jorgen became a great leader， and Detritus moved！ But what really made this book for me was Jorgen’s transformation。 The last battle felt disjointed but that had more to do with Jorgen being grounded and teleporting all over the place， it needed to happen that way to work， but it was odd having him communicate with people stuck behind a while while his friends possibly die。 。。。more

After the initial Skyward novel I was a little disappointed we didn't get a lot of Skyward Flight anymore。 These three novellas fill that hole and then some。 Instead of three 'side-stories' reading this collection felt more like an essential read broken down in three arcs （and three points of view）。 Getting to know these other characters better has been a great experience and I was never bored。 I'm not entirely sure how much of this was Sanderson or Patterson but if I didn't notice I think that After the initial Skyward novel I was a little disappointed we didn't get a lot of Skyward Flight anymore。 These three novellas fill that hole and then some。 Instead of three 'side-stories' reading this collection felt more like an essential read broken down in three arcs （and three points of view）。 Getting to know these other characters better has been a great experience and I was never bored。 I'm not entirely sure how much of this was Sanderson or Patterson but if I didn't notice I think that can only be described as a positive。 It was a real page-turner for me from beginning to end。 It also made me love the taynix even more and it made me sad these creatures are only fictional。 Overall the stories were pleasantly written， we learn a lot of new information and the characters were so interesting I never even missed Spensa。 。。。more
