Summary

He wants revenge, but he wants her more。

Once Upon A Time, there was a little boy。
His belly full of laughter, his life full of joy。
Until one day, something changed; stripped his innocence away。
The hole inside making space for the devil to come and play。
His dreams gone forever, he grew up way too fast。
An endless night of crocodiles, and watches made of glass。
He grew into a villain, the taste of vengeance on his tongue。
Craving to make his enemies pay for the misdeeds they had done。
Instead he found a darling girl, and refused to let her go。
For what better way to make the man pay, than to steal his little shadow。

Started out rough but ended well。 There were some things that were predictable, but there were also some really good twists。 Overall it was a good book。

dnf at 75%I love me a good "bad boy", villain type of characters。 But when his act of revenge is to c*m inside his enemy’s daughter, that's when I pack my bag and fly to a Virgin Island follow by cleansing my ears with holy water after hearing that sentence。 Villains usually have their own moral code and his moral code isn't one I can stand behind。I will give her other book, Wretched, a try though。 That particular scene when a love interest putting the MC's own gun into her 😺 really peaks my cur dnf at 75%I love me a good "bad boy", villain type of characters。 But when his act of revenge is to c*m inside his enemy’s daughter, that's when I pack my bag and fly to a Virgin Island follow by cleansing my ears with holy water after hearing that sentence。 Villains usually have their own moral code and his moral code isn't one I can stand behind。I will give her other book, Wretched, a try though。 That particular scene when a love interest putting the MC's own gun into her 😺 really peaks my curiosity。 That's the type of fucked up I want to read。 。。。more

I started 2022 with this quick standalone read。 It's a modern take on Peter Pan, but with a brilliant twist! Peter Pan isn't the protagonist here, its Captain Hook, and his Wendy。This book impressed me with the twists and surprises it packed, but I found some circumstances ridiculous and didn't really understand what drove Hook to act the way he did。 Overall, it was an okay read with too much of a burden placed on our Hook to carry the plot。Also, there's no fantasy or paranormal aspect to this s I started 2022 with this quick standalone read。 It's a modern take on Peter Pan, but with a brilliant twist! I liked it, but found it didn’t live up to the online hype。 I found the writing to be not great at times。 I enjoyed the story line but felt that the end wrapped everything together too quickly

I love Wendys and Hooks toxic relationshipAlso so many daddy issues 😂😂

Quite the Twisted TaleAmazing read! Love the twist they took on a classic fairy tale story and bringing it to life in a way that makes you just swoon。 The dark theme romance really brought the characters to life in a way that makes you just fall in love with our beloved villain James Hook。

3。5 ⭐️I do love a fairytale inspired book, throw in the villain gets the girl and mafia vibes? I’m in。 It was a nice change of pace from what I have been reading and I enjoyed it。 Might have fallen down the dark romance rabbit hole again 😅TWs: murder, graphic depictions of gore and violence, child abuse recounted, death of parents

I really did not expect to like this book as much I did。 The writing was surprising really great, the story was exciting the smut was fantastic I just had a great time。 I actually wish this book was longer I wanted hook and Wendy to have more time together on page their relationship felt pretty fast which was the point but I felt if it was longer they’d have more moments that would make that easier to swallow。 But in any case I really really enjoyed this, and was shocked by all plot twists。

I wanted to start two other books before this, but they were boring and so I picked this one off my shelf。 Holy shit this was gripping。It was incredibly entertaining and gripping with a great mystery and great characters。 I genuinely didn’t know where it was going to go and I finished it quicker than any novel before and with more ease。I am going to get the next books in the series because of how great this was。Absolutely recommend if you like spicy, adult, fairytale inspired mysteries。

The way I devoured this book is unholy。 I’m starting to think I like some darkness in my books lol Spice and violence bring me lots of joy, what does that say about me? Lol

Isabella Jarmash

JAMES BABY JAMES。 He was mwah。 This was not a villain turn hero。 This was a villain stays villain who turns the good girl in to a good villain。 Lovers to enemies back to lovers。 Revenge plot。 Touch her I’ll kill you type book

A tale for all。 I was skeptical going into this, just with so much hype I didn’t want to be let down and that has happened so many times when I’ve given a hyped-up book a chance, but this was a great surprise。I enjoyed this, I’m not sure if I’m a convert to the fandom but I enjoyed it。 Usually, retellings are not my thing, but I needed to know why this book was as hype as it is。 I enjoyed the plot it was great。 The writing was new took me a bit to adjust to, but it was easy to read and follow t A tale for all。 I was skeptical going into this, just with so much hype I didn’t want to be let down and that has happened so many times when I’ve given a hyped-up book a chance, but this was a great surprise。I enjoyed this, I’m not sure if I’m a convert to the fandom but I enjoyed it。 Usually, retellings are not my thing, but I needed to know why this book was as hype as it is。 I enjoyed the plot it was great。 The writing was new took me a bit to adjust to, but it was easy to read and follow the storyline。 I enjoyed the world build。 I felt like there were many layers and I liked we got to see all depth to it, and it felt immersive which I love。 Vivid details made for clear imagery and a more fulfilled read。The characters are great, their dynamic and chemistry was palpable。 They weaved seamlessly between each other, and I liked how there were no characters pushed to the background。 All seem to have their moment or time for the audience to get to know them which was great。 I loved the complexities in which the author developed her characters also and that it was clear who was who in terms of the retelling。 There were hints of originality to the characters also which I love and that’s not easy when doing a retelling, but I thought the author pulled it off well。I can see why this book was so hyped。 It was a great read, and anyone looking for an immersive, well written retelling should check this out。 As for me, I enjoyed this, but I’m not obsessed。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I was SOOO excited to read this book。 I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings especially if it involves the villain。 However, this shit was ASS。 I mean doodoo, a straight white man who doesn't clean his ass BAD。 It was a shit fairy tale retelling and even worse mafia book。 It got so bad, like eye-rolling bad, towards the end I just started skim-reading it so it would be over faster (in the end I don't think I finished it but I don't remember, I trauma-blocked it out)。 I did not care for the char I was SOOO excited to read this book。 I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings especially if it involves the villain。 However, this shit was ASS。 I mean doodoo, a straight white man who doesn't clean his ass BAD。 It was a shit fairy tale retelling and even worse mafia book。 It got so bad, like eye-rolling bad, towards the end I just started skim-reading it so it would be over faster (in the end I don't think I finished it but I don't remember, I trauma-blocked it out)。 I did not care for the characters and cannot remember if the FMC name was Wendy。 I am assuming it is。 They made Peter Pan into both Wendy's dad, and a bad guy which was definitely a choice that was made。 The only thing I am glad about this book is that it had so few similarities from the OG that it did ruin Peter Pan for me。 Never trust a man who lives on a boat。 。。。more

I thought that this was a good book。 I loved this rendition of telling the story of Hook。 It’s definitely been one of my favorite ones。 Hook is a character you love and can’t hate, even with all the bad that he does I just couldn’t hate him。

I loved how this story developed。 He started how you would expect but then it slowly became an amazing story! this book wanted to make me stab my eyes out。 I was expecting something wayy different but no。。 the fact that the only thing he could see her as was his pet cringed me tf out but this line: 'I hadn’t planned to come inside her。 But the thought of her swelling with my child right in front of her father’s eyes—right before I slit his throat, had my balls tightening and cum shooting out of my tip before I could even finish the fantasy。' for some reason i finished this。 He literally deadass tortured this book wanted to make me stab my eyes out。 I was expecting something wayy different but no。。 the fact that the only thing he could see her as was his pet cringed me tf out but this line: 'I hadn’t planned to come inside her。 But the thought of her swelling with my child right in front of her father’s eyes—right before I slit his throat, had my balls tightening and cum shooting out of my tip before I could even finish the fantasy。' for some reason i finished this。 He literally deadass tortured her and they stillgot married。 Give me a break 。。。more

This book is a reimagining of Peter Pan where Wendy falls in love with Hook, Peter Pan’s sworn enemy in a modern day fashion。 Let me start off and say I did not like this book when I started it。 I thought the author attempt of making James/ Hook as a bad boy murderer was cringey and just a bunch of paragraphs about how much he enjoyed killing people。 “𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳, 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳 This book is a reimagining of Peter Pan where Wendy falls in love with Hook, Peter Pan’s sworn enemy in a modern day fashion。 Let me start off and say I did not like this book when I started it。 I thought the author attempt of making James/ Hook as a bad boy murderer was cringey and just a bunch of paragraphs about how much he enjoyed killing people。 “𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳, 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘳𝘦𝘥。”“𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘬𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴。”“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯。”All of those paragraphs about how people fear him。 (Hook) and how he’ll kill anybody and gut them like a fish was a bit much。 Like we get it you kill people and everyone’s scared of you。 Now let’s talk about how weird he acted when he first saw Wendy。 I hate when they describe the ‘good girl’ as innocent。 Just because she doesn’t live the lifestyle you want to live。 “𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵。 𝘋𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴。”Are you serious a girl can’t just go to a bar to hang out with her friends without you saying how she looks so innocent and out of place。 He also jerked off to the sight of her on the security cameras。 —-Then after that Hook jumps into some real misogynistic crap。 When Wendy and her friends want to get into the club they’re stopped because their using a fake ID to sneak Wendy in because see’s twenty。 Hook sees this when he’s watching her through a security camera because she just sooo hot。 He goes on a fucking rant about how to control a woman。 “𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘥𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭。 𝘈 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳。 𝘈 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦, 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭。 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦。”This gave me the biggest ick。—-Wendy has some self respect。 The author did a good job of not letting Hook walk all over her just because he’s hot。The rest of the book was amazing and I loved it, Hook and Wendy balancing each other out。 But this book was amazing up to the end。 Ru, James friend is killed during a business meeting and James figure out that it was Peter but he also assumes it Wendy because he was helping her with her little brother when he was supposed to be with Ru。 Even though he’s the one who offered to help。 He kidnaps her, and chains her to the ceiling。 Wendy has no idea what her father does。 (He smuggles drugs) but she doesn’t cry when the guy she’s know for maybe 3 weeks chains her up and threatens her。 If Wendy didn’t know at all what was happening and she locked up, chained in a basement I think she would be scared for her life。 Instead she insults Hook, and spits in someone’s face。Then Hook gives her a choker necklace and says“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳。”After that they make up after Hook realizes that she was in fact she was not working with her father even though she showed no evidence of that。 —-THE ENDINGSmee, the person that took care of James boat betrays him and then Wendy and him have to audacity to be shocked。 All the signs were there。 Smee is James cousin。 Smee wants to kill James because James killed his father (James uncle) because he was sexually abused as a child after his parents died。 Smee’s mad because his mom was a crackhead and his father was gonna take him in before James killed him。 Then they’re Peter who killed James parents in a airplane crash, the reason he did this was because his wife cheated on him with James dad and got pregnant with Jon, Wendy’s brother。 That’s why he killed James parents and his own wife because it was disrespectful how she cheated on him。 —-But other than the ending and the way Wendy acted when she got kidnapped this books was amazing。 I loved this book and everyone should read it。 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 。。。more
