3。8 stars for me。 The story / plot was action packed, but it still felt slow and anticlimactic。 It was getting a little rough in the last third of the book but then it kind of picked up。 I didn’t like how some of the scenes I thought were going to be more meaningful and have a big impact, left me with little to nothing (ie- the scene with her father) Another downfall was we went back to enemies and stayed there wayyyyyyy too long。 The romance was lacking Hoping the third book will give me more。

Not a big fan of this series。 The audiobooks for books 1 and 2 were free on audible which was the only reason I read the second installment。

Ok I loved this so much more than the first one。 This is where the love story really shines。 Lara also really grew on me in this one and I love that for a fantasy heroine, she actually gets her hands dirty。

A lot of my recent reads have been misses for me, and the things I hated in those books were the things I loved here。Lara was a fantastic heroine, intelligent and fierce。 But she was very human, too, and I really enjoyed seeing her vulnerability in this book。 The other characters were great as well, with the hero being so sweet and loyal。 I was on the edge of my seat wondering how the romance would pan out。Not sure if this is a spoiler, since it's pretty much expected, but: (view spoiler)[Lara's A lot of my recent reads have been misses for me, and the things I hated in those books were the things I loved here。Lara was a fantastic heroine, intelligent and fierce。 But she was very human, too, and I really enjoyed seeing her vulnerability in this book。 The other characters were great as well, with the hero being so sweet and loyal。 I was on the edge of my seat wondering how the romance would pan out。Not sure if this is a spoiler, since it's pretty much expected, but: (view spoiler)[Lara's siblings were great! I'm curious about them, and hope to see more of them in the future books -- I think the next two books are on Kerin's story, which is great。 (hide spoiler)]Action, politics, adventure -- this book has it all。 I flew through this book because of how curious I was about how the story would play out。。。 And it didn't disappoint。 Every step made sense, and it was like I couldn't think of any alternatives for any of the plot points。 Brilliant。Bonus thoughts on the ending alone: that was crazy intense, but in the best way possible。 I wish we had more! I miss Lara and Aren already。#1 The Bridge Kingdom: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 。。。more

A lot of action and suspense。 I wasn't sure how the ending was going to go until the very last moment。 Fantastic ending。 A lot of action and suspense。 I wasn't sure how the ending was going to go until the very last moment。 Fantastic ending。 。。。more

Nice little duology。 I understand the next book in the series pans to a different group of characters, and I don't think I'm invested enough to keep reading。 But these were free on Audible and worth the listen for fantasy fans。 I'd rate this an R for violence, gore, swearing, alcohol use, scenes of peril, and sexuality。 Nice little duology。 I understand the next book in the series pans to a different group of characters, and I don't think I'm invested enough to keep reading。 But these were free on Audible and worth the listen for fantasy fans。 I'd rate this an R for violence, gore, swearing, alcohol use, scenes of peril, and sexuality。 。。。more

This book was WAY better then the first。 I was reading as fast as I could to get past the reading induced anxiety to make it to the happily ever after part。 The author did a great job at creating complex kingdoms that were all at odds with each other。 While the kingdoms treaties, alliances, and betrayals weren’t the main plot it gave depth to the story。 My one complaint is that I wish the author would have written an epilogue for this book。 I read a whole book about Aren and Lara staying away fr This book was WAY better then the first。 I was reading as fast as I could to get past the reading induced anxiety to make it to the happily ever after part。 The author did a great job at creating complex kingdoms that were all at odds with each other。 While the kingdoms treaties, alliances, and betrayals weren’t the main plot it gave depth to the story。 My one complaint is that I wish the author would have written an epilogue for this book。 I read a whole book about Aren and Lara staying away from each other, so it would have been nice to read how happy they are together。 Oh well! Ngl, this book put me in a major reading slump。 I was very close to DNFing it but I pushed through。 It was just so meh。 There was only one part where I was actually invested otherwise it just felt like a series of words being read。 I was vaguely imagining things and occasionally getting attached to ppl but never enough to make it a good book。 I just feel it’s too fast paced for my liking and the characters just fell a little flat:/

I was probably overly excited for this sequel to The Bridge Kingdom but unfortunately it fell a little flat。 I figured there were going to be more epic battle scenes in this one, but most the book ended up being fighting scenes with only about 10% romance 🙄However, with that being said, the writing was still fantastic, so many great quotes, phenomenal world building, and character development。 I think all this book needed to make it 5⭐️ was to add in more romance to balance out all the fighting I was probably overly excited for this sequel to The Bridge Kingdom but unfortunately it fell a little flat。 I figured there were going to be more epic battle scenes in this one, but most the book ended up being fighting scenes with only about 10% romance 🙄However, with that being said, the writing was still fantastic, so many great quotes, phenomenal world building, and character development。 I think all this book needed to make it 5⭐️ was to add in more romance to balance out all the fighting 😅 。。。more

I’m very indifferent to this series。 Not entirely sure why, but I had a hard time connecting to the characters, and the way everything wrapped up so nicely left me feeling a little resentful。

This is between a 4 and 5 stars, and I honestly can't remember because I'm writing this review long after I finished the book! Here's what I remember。 I really liked how the tensions of the previous book resolved。 I liked how Aren behaved, and how long it took for their relationship to heal。 I enjoyed the desert scenes。 And I liked the ending!I see this as a very solid fantasy romance duology。 Not quite life changing, but really really good! Definitely recommend picking it up。 This is between a 4 and 5 stars, and I honestly can't remember because I'm writing this review long after I finished the book! 3。5 stars!I know my girl Lara causes a war but the way everyone was so spiteful to her through the whole book was emotionally exhausting to me。 Not to mention the ending was so abrupt??? Did the people forgive her?

I enjoyed the first book more, but really enjoyed this too。 This is one of my favorite series I've read in awhile。 I LOVE the anticipation of this second book。 Of if/when they will make up。 If she remains his queen。 How they save him。 I enjoyed the fast pace and feel like the story was wrapped up well。 I enjoyed the first book more, but really enjoyed this too。 This is one of my favorite series I've read in awhile。 I LOVE the anticipation of this second book。 Of if/when they will make up。 If she remains his queen。 How they save him。 I enjoyed the fast pace and feel like the story was wrapped up well。 。。。more

Holy shit this was good!I was iffy after the first book and on the fence about continuing, but boy am I glad I did! This second installment of The Bridge Kingdom Series closes out Aren and Lara's story while leaving the subtle option for readers to continue in this world with Keris and Zarrah。 The Traitor Queen was well-paced and wildly entertaining。 In my opinion, it was close to perfection。I loved how the Veliant sisters came into play in this book and thought that the relationship development Holy shit this was good!I was iffy after the first book and on the fence about continuing, but boy am I glad I did! I can’t breathe。 This book is phenomenal。 From the start to the riveting end, I experienced anxiety and love and excitement。 Still, I must mention that Lara is excessively harsh on herself in this book。 I think that the repercussions of her actions from the last book are a little bit over the top。 If the consequences of her actions were a little milder, it could aid the story in believability。 Despite this, I remain extremely fond of the book。I might be a little biased here because I am unhealth I can’t breathe。 This book is phenomenal。 From the start to the riveting end, I experienced anxiety and love and excitement。 Still, I must mention that Lara is excessively harsh on herself in this book。 I think that the repercussions of her actions from the last book are a little bit over the top。 If the consequences of her actions were a little milder, it could aid the story in believability。 Despite this, I remain extremely fond of the book。I might be a little biased here because I am unhealthily obsessed with Lara and have since married her in my world of delusion, but Aren could have been a little nicer to her。 I did think him unbelievably soft, whining about his refusal to follow a solid plan because he cannot risk innocent lives。 Regardless, I love this story。 I enjoyed meeting Lara’s siblings and following all the action-packed journeys。 I am connected to Ithicana as if it were my home, and I hate to part with this fantasy world I adore so much。 I didn’t plan to continue the series after this book because I doubted anyone else could triumph over Lara and Aren, but I am so intrigued by Keris and Zarrah’s relationship。 I’ll really, really want to get to know them。 。。。more
