Summary

Jack and Sally are "truly meant to be" 。。。 or are they?

Sally Skellington is the official, newly-minted Pumpkin Queen after a whirlwind courtship with her true love, Jack, who Sally adores with every inch of her fabric seams -- if only she could say the same for her new role as Queen of Halloween Town。 Cast into the spotlight and tasked with all sorts of queenly duties, Sally can't help but wonder if all she's done is trade her captivity under Dr。 FInkelstein for a different -- albeit gilded -- cage。 But when Sally and Zero accidentally uncover a long-hidden doorway to an ancient realm called Dream Town in the forest Hinterlands, she'll unknowingly set into motion a chain of sinister events that put her future as Pumpkin Queen, and the future of Halloween Town itself, into jeopardy。 Can Sally discover what it means to be true to herself and save the town she's learned to call home, or will her future turn into her worst。。。 well, nightmare

Yawn。 Not only is this book boring and repetitive, the author completely failed to capture Sally's inner voice, in my opinion。 And Sally acquires (view spoiler)[parents (hide spoiler)]? Give me a break。 It also reads very young; it probably would have worked better as a short chapter book。 Yawn。 Not only is this book boring and repetitive, the author completely failed to capture Sally's inner voice, in my opinion。 And Sally acquires (view spoiler)[parents (hide spoiler)]? Such an adorable tale to bring us back into Halloween town while showing us something new。 NBC has always been one of my holiday favorites and this story just takes me back。 Its well written and has a new depth of character for Sally。 It was definitely a hard one to put down。

I’m a huge fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas。 While everyone was obsessed with Hocus Pocus (which I enjoyed as well) The Nightmare Before Christmas was my movie all year around。 It’s one of my favorite movies & I really enjoyed this book! The characters & the storyline were wonderful。 My two problems with this book was it didn’t feel like I was reading about the same Sally & Jack that I grew up with from the movie。 These characters felt like a different Sally & Jack from a parallel universe。 I’m a huge fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas。 While everyone was obsessed with Hocus Pocus (which I enjoyed as well) The Nightmare Before Christmas was my movie all year around。 It’s one of my favorite movies & I really enjoyed this book! Am I a little biased because it’s based around my (probably) favorite movie of all time? Kinda。But I loved every page of this book! Of this story! If I did have a small nitpick—and this does not demote or change or alter my 5 star rating at all—is that I would want it to be longer, to establish or go into further detail the other Towns(mild spoiler)。 Regardless, I saw every Burton-istic detail as I read each page and could not get enough!

I knew it was ya, but honestly it was a bit to juvenile for me。 The concept held such promise to me but it fell flat。

I loved this book! I borrowed it from the library but I’m going to end up buying it! It was a fun read that I know my little ones will love to read one day。

This was great getting to see the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas again。 I loved hearing more about Sally’s story, and getting to flesh her character out more。 Definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the movie!

Love it!I absolutely love this book 。 I would like to have hope for another book 。this book isn't nearly long enough lol I had to pace myself because the chapters keep you on edge 。 which is a great thing。 My favorite part is when her and jack discovered new holiday trees。 I will not say much more because I will give it all the way just to read this book for yourself and you will absolutely love it。 Love it!I absolutely love this book 。 I would like to have hope for another book 。this book isn't nearly long enough lol I had to pace myself because the chapters keep you on edge 。 which is a great thing。 My favorite part is when her and jack discovered new holiday trees。 I will not say much more because I will give it all the way just to read this book for yourself and you will absolutely love it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I knew going into this book that it wasn’t going to be life changing, just a fun Halloween read。 I got what I expected and had fun reading it。 If you’re a fan of the original, you’ll enjoy familiar characters in familiar settings。 It was fun to FINALLY get to see what was behind those closed holiday doors we were introduced to almost 30 years ago。 Like I said, if it’s a quick fun Halloween story you’re after it’s a good one。 SPOILERSWhat didn’t earn it a higher rating was that it was a bit predi I knew going into this book that it wasn’t going to be life changing, just a fun Halloween read。 I got what I expected and had fun reading it。 If you’re a fan of the original, you’ll enjoy familiar characters in familiar settings。 It was fun to FINALLY get to see what was behind those closed holiday doors we were introduced to almost 30 years ago。 Like I said, if it’s a quick fun Halloween story you’re after it’s a good one。 SPOILERSWhat didn’t earn it a higher rating was that it was a bit predictable without many surprises。 And the ending for the antagonist? A bit…too easy? I was also a little disturbed that a character who imprisoned sally in the first story then find out kidnapped her as a child only got community service as a punishment?? A bit too nice considering they live in a town with a guy with an ax in his head and a clown with a tear away face。 :/All in all fun read but probably wouldn’t read it again unless it was with someone who was interested。 。。。more

I liked this book especially since I love Tim Burton movies。 I liked the ending but the beginning was a bit boring to me。 The ending almost made me cry just because of how cute Jack and Sally are。 I'm so glad Sally got a main character moment。 I liked this book especially since I love Tim Burton movies。 I liked the ending but the beginning was a bit boring to me。 The ending almost made me cry just because of how cute Jack and Sally are。 I'm so glad Sally got a main character moment。 。。。more

Fantastic!I had a hard time putting this down。 It just had me swept up in the world it created and Sally was a very compelling character。 It was great to see so many worlds。 I do feel the redemption was a bit rushed and cheesy but aside from that, the villain is presented as a real danger and while it’s obviously designed for our heroine to overcome, it’s not so obvious as to how。 I rather liked that。

I love The Nightmare Before Christmas but I was not a fan of this。 I'm not sure what about it I didn't enjoy but I just could not get into it。 I only finished it because it was relatively short。 I love The Nightmare Before Christmas but I was not a fan of this。 I'm not sure what about it I didn't enjoy but I just could not get into it。 I only finished it because it was relatively short。 。。。more

LONG LIVE THE PUMPKIN QUEENShea ErnshawI LOVED THE COVER!!The story was another story。 I had a hard time getting engaged。 In fact, I struggled with it。 I thought it moved on without anything happening and so I was uninspired to continue, but I did。 On and on I read, waiting patiently for something to happen, some constructed character to do something amazing or at least pageworthy。 But we wobbled on to the end。 2 stars Happy Reading!

This book was fantastic。 If you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, you’ll love this。 The story is canon and the whole vibe/tone of the book is exactly the same as the movie, it’s as if Jack Skellington himself jumped out of the TV and into these pages。 I won’t give away spoilers, but a bomb is dropped… and if you’ve ever watched the movie and wondered what lies behind any of the doors to the other holiday realms, here is your chance。 It’s a great book all around and found a home in my t This book was fantastic。 If you’re a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, you’ll love this。 The story is canon and the whole vibe/tone of the book is exactly the same as the movie, it’s as if Jack Skellington himself jumped out of the TV and into these pages。 I won’t give away spoilers, but a bomb is dropped… and if you’ve ever watched the movie and wondered what lies behind any of the doors to the other holiday realms, here is your chance。 It’s a great book all around and found a home in my top five favorite books of all time。 。。。more

This was such a cute continuation of my favorite story in the entire world。 Finding more doors was such a beautiful way to enter new worlds and being able to FINALLY have a glimpse into the other holiday doors was so much fun。 Did it feel like fanfiction in some ways, yes, but in the best possible ways。 Having the blessings of Tim Burton made it all the more believable and wonderful。

She’s an icon, she’s a legend, and she is the moment! Sally deserved her own journey and self-discovery。 I really enjoyed this book and it left me cheesy smiling for Sally Skellington, Pumpkin Queen of Halloween town 🥹🖤 and of course also for our bone daddy Jack, Zero, new characters, and all Halloween town residents (except Dr。 Finkelstein who should be hooked up to an IV drip of deathly night shade forever。 This isn’t part of the plot, just my wish for him 😌)
