It's hard to believe that this is #22 in the series as I think I have read most of them, if not all。 I likehow Joe was included in the investigation this time, and it was mostly about the 2 of them insteadof the whole group as usual。 Nice change of pace。 It's hard to believe that this is #22 in the series as I think I have read most of them, if not all。 I likehow Joe was included in the investigation this time, and it was mostly about the 2 of them insteadof the whole group as usual。 Nice change of pace。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 To be more realistic, should have included the government as part of the drug and gun running。 Did not like the woke anti 2nd ammendment theme。

Still fast paced; involved all members of the Women’s Murder Club; however, parts of story didn’t make sense as to why they were included。 Still liked the book。

hot topicGun control is a hot topic right now。 I can see this all happening。 For some reason, however, this book was not as compelling as others in series。 Hats off to reader though on book on tape。 She is the best。 I can recognize characters by their voices and most are exactly as I imagined them。

2。5 starsThis one wasn't as bad as the last one or two, but it didn't really grab me either。 It actually started off well - lots of intriguing stuff going on, some high tension situations。 But then it just kind of coasted for what felt like a really long time。 It felt like a lot of the middle was filler。 Not terrible filler, but not super thrilling either。 Yuki was almost a total no-show in the book, Cindy is focused on her book from the last WMC novel。 Claire had her own little side quest this 2。5 starsThis one wasn't as bad as the last one or two, but it didn't really grab me either。 It actually started off well - lots of intriguing stuff going on, some high tension situations。 But then it just kind of coasted for what felt like a really long time。 It felt like a lot of the middle was filler。 Not terrible filler, but not super thrilling either。 Yuki was almost a total no-show in the book, Cindy is focused on her book from the last WMC novel。 Claire had her own little side quest this time。 I didn't really get the reason for that, it wasn't related to the main story, it was really short and mostly boring, and then she just kind of melted back into her usual role。 Given the subject matter of the book, I kept waiting for the author to setup a bunch of anti-gun straw men just to knock them down。 And there definitely were some (like the guy who charges the police station。 Yeah, that really happens) and there definitely was the overriding "guns are bad" messaging。 However, I find it amusing that when the gun toting nut jobs come for Lindsay and her family, the one thing that evens the odds for her? Her gun。 Whoops, guess we accidentally went and proved the opposite point we were trying to make。 Not everyone can call for 3 squad cars to babysit us and make sure our family is safe。Anyway。 The book didn't grab me, the characters stories seem less tied together, the actual women's murder club now feels more like just girl's night out, and Joe, who does a lot of cooking and dishes for a guy who consults on matters of homeland security (there there, that's a good token) seems less and less like the bad ass he used to be and more and more like an afterthought who conveniently still can pick up the phone to help Lindsey because he knows a guy。I picked up this one from the local library because it was in the new releases section。 Maybe the next one will just have to sit there。 。。。more

I was on the library’s waitlist for 8 months to read this book, but it was worth the wait! Like all of the other Women’s Murder Club books (there are 22 in the series and now I’ve read all of them), there are multiple “stories” about each of the 4 main characters, so the book is never dull。 Written in Patterson’s conversational style, which makes these books fun and relaxing to read。 I even convinced my husband to read the series and he loved it。

Love the characters。 Followed this series from the beginning。 Always read these books quicker than others because they keep me engaged。

I was on a binge book reading spree this summer between packing and moving and then recuperating from all of that。 I usually like the murder club books but this one seemed a bit too pressed for me。 I'll try the next one because I tend to like them but I figured they're going to be uneven。 That's true of most authors that I like except for one or two。 I was on a binge book reading spree this summer between packing and moving and then recuperating from all of that。 I usually like the murder club books but this one seemed a bit too pressed for me。 I'll try the next one because I tend to like them but I figured they're going to be uneven。 That's true of most authors that I like except for one or two。 。。。more

I did not enjoy this story as much as I have other women's club books。 This one has less interaction amongst the women。 I did enjoy that Lindsay got to work with Joe。 This just wasn't as fast-paced for me。 I did not enjoy this story as much as I have other women's club books。 This one has less interaction amongst the women。 I did enjoy that Lindsay got to work with Joe。 This just wasn't as fast-paced for me。 。。。more

I enjoyed this story but it was definitely a Lindsey & Joe story not really a Women’s Murder Club story。 Yuki barely made an appearance and Cindy & Claire had very small sub-plots。 I realize it’s the 22nd book but there should be a story for all of the ladies & their partners。

Tara

This was a bit of a slog for me。 Short choppy chapters about weapons and organized crime standoffs。 Not much for Yuki, Claire, or Cindy to do。 The best part was a short section about Claire’s out of town case—and then it was over and seemingly had nothing to do with the rest of the book—what? Meh。

Alvina Austin

I usually enjoy this series but I found this book to be so like all the others in this series。 I read it to finish it but I really did not enjoy it。

I just finished reading 22 SECONDS。 I really enjoyed the story and found it suspenseful。

I have read many Patterson books。 This was my first in the women’s murder club series。 I prefer Alex Cross or Michael Bennett。

Carol Ann

Not as good as previous books。 Lots of words, descriptions。

Sandra

Good book, but I had trouble following the story because of the way the chapters start out。 It's in the first person and you kind of have to figure out or guess who's talking。 Too many characters made it kind of "muddy"。 Good book, but I had trouble following the story because of the way the chapters start out。 It's in the first person and you kind of have to figure out or guess who's talking。 Too many characters made it kind of "muddy"。 。。。more
