Summary

Autobiografia Willa Smitha, napisana z pomocą autora sprzedanego w milionach egzemplarzy bestsellera Subtelnie mówię F*ck!

I enjoyed this audiobook! A little repetitive at times but it definitely had me laughing and there some golden nuggets of advice。 It was pretty cool with the music he played throughout。Format: audiobook

One of the best books I’ve ever listened too。 It needs to be listened to instead of read。 Will Smith nailed it!!!!

Alternately insightful, inspiring, and self-aggrandizing。 Won’t be my go-to celeb-memoir recommendation。 🤷🏼‍♀️

Will,Since you asked, no, the joke with Jada wasn't funny。I'm on an autobiography kick right now。 This one seemed so full of ego that I decided to actually give it a review。 IDK, maybe he is as great as he says he is but I'm surprised that he didn't brag more about what he has done for other people instead of repeatedly saying how great he is。 Maybe there is nothing to say on that topic? Ironically finished this a couple days before the slap lmao, hearing about his childhood was interesting and everything that made him who he is better or worse, most interesting part was fight camp, the mindset, the team needed, the military-esque discipline and focus needed to maintain excellence and how inevitable the sacrifice of your personal life is when serving moments greater than urself, and the moment he pushed that to the side for his family the effect on his career, super insightful a Ironically finished this a couple days before the slap lmao, hearing about his childhood was interesting and everything that made him who he is better or worse, most interesting part was fight camp, the mindset, the team needed, the military-esque discipline and focus needed to maintain excellence and how inevitable the sacrifice of your personal life is when serving moments greater than urself, and the moment he pushed that to the side for his family the effect on his career, super insightful and sad 。。。more

I have listened to a few autobiographies over my time running and this one was interesting but not my favorite。 It was a cool story learning about how he grew up and how he became as successful as he did。

It’s been awhile since I enjoyed a book THIS much。 During a rare lapse between scheduled books, the audiobook “Will” by none other than blockbuster superstar, Will Smith, became available on Libby。 I had heard a lot of hype over his book (most good, but some bad) and so I pressed play。 In his memoir, Smith does not beat around the bush acknowledging that he’s (to put it mildly)…successful。 But he also does not shy away from his struggles, including the abusive nature of his father, his insecurit It’s been awhile since I enjoyed a book THIS much。 During a rare lapse between scheduled books, the audiobook “Will” by none other than blockbuster superstar, Will Smith, became available on Libby。 I had heard a lot of hype over his book (most good, but some bad) and so I pressed play。 In his memoir, Smith does not beat around the bush acknowledging that he’s (to put it mildly)…successful。 But he also does not shy away from his struggles, including the abusive nature of his father, his insecurities, and his unrelenting drive。 While he “considers [him]self fairly average in talent, where [he] believes [he] excels is in [his] unflinching, unyielding, discipline and work ethic” (chapter 17), this has also created a chasm between him and his loved ones, which he only recognized after several failed relationships and well into his adulthood。 As a fan of Will-Smith-The-Movie-Star (I never watched Fresh Prince of Bel Air - I know… gasp!!!), I appreciated his candidness, illuminating cracks in his veneer that I never knew existed。 I also appreciated his worldly axioms on such topics as family dynamics, marriage, loyalty, finding your voice, achieving dreams, and even how to win the game of Monopoly! As a retired English teacher, I appreciated the sophisticated language he used and his deliberate enunciation of those words。 I enjoyed the flood of memories it brought back for ME watching his films as he disclosed the story-behind-the-story of several of his blockbuster hits。 And as a bonus, since I listened to the audiobook, I also enjoyed the few beats he kicked around。 After listening to his story, although I will remain a fan of his work, I’m not sure I’d be cut out to be his friend… not that I will ever have the opportunity to find out! But until then, there’s no “paralysis through analysis” in this review… his memoir deserves a 5-star review! 。。。more

Being a big fan of fresh prince and the hop culture in general I enjoyed pretty much the whole stretch of this journey。 It is a very honest Biography that in the end does not end。 His demons are still there and are present。 There is no end here。 I can understand where his Chris Rock slap came from。 To summarise it’s just falls into something very American and shallow。 It’s all there, but evaluate closer and a lack of substance will appear。

I've had a really difficult time rating this book, every other memoir / biography that I've read I've given 5 stars, because they have been good, and this is someone's real life, who am I to judge that or say it is less than。 I can't give this book 5 stars。I've eventually decided on 3 stars which I think is fair。 I didn't have a good time reading this book and I didn't enjoy the content at all。 There are alot of things included in this book I think are problematic and a lot of thoughts that are I've had a really difficult time rating this book, every other memoir / biography that I've read I've given 5 stars, because they have been good, and this is someone's real life, who am I to judge that or say it is less than。 I can't give this book 5 stars。I've eventually decided on 3 stars which I think is fair。 I didn't have a good time reading this book and I didn't enjoy the content at all。 There are alot of things included in this book I think are problematic and a lot of thoughts that are expressed or things that happened especially towards romantic partners that wasn't addressed as being wrong or potentially harmful。 Overall I went into this thinking it would be an interesting book where I would learn more about will smith, when buying the book to me will smith was a funny guy from fresh prince and MIB, I've come out of this book not liking will smith and feeling like the thoughts he has especially about women (+ a few other things) could be harmful for younger people reading this。Overall 3/5 stars, I'm not going to write more as I don't want rant about how much I hated this。 (if this wasn't a biography and me feeling weird about that it would have got 1 star, I wish I DNF'd) 。。。more

With Mark Manson's help, Will Smith crafts a funny and engaging autobiography。 He's already a great story teller on film so it stands to reason he can translate that to the page easily enough。 What's really profound is how much his personal growth lessons weave through the journey with the blessing of hindsight。 It's clear he had to deal with severe trauma as a child that still impacts his life today。 I feel some fellowship there as a sister who's going through therapy to process childhood event With Mark Manson's help, Will Smith crafts a funny and engaging autobiography。 He's already a great story teller on film so it stands to reason he can translate that to the page easily enough。 What's really profound is how much his personal growth lessons weave through the journey with the blessing of hindsight。 It's clear he had to deal with severe trauma as a child that still impacts his life today。 I feel some fellowship there as a sister who's going through therapy to process childhood events。 Overall I would recommend for the insightfulness and fun stories。 。。。more

This was a thoughtful and thought provoking read。 I hope people will still read it despite Will Smith’s recent mistake。 He’s human and we all make mistakes。 He will grow from it just as he grew from everything in his life。 I highly recommend this book!!

trzeba naprawdę typa lubić żeby nie cringować i nie zmęczyć się tą książką, ogólnie git szybko się czytało ale zarazem bardzo męczące było ciągłe powtarzanie ile Will osiągnął like we get it ale bez tego ta książką byłaby przynajmniej o 100 stron krótsza

EXCELLENT READ This was surprisingly such a great, interesting and fun read。 I really hope he writes and publishes more books。 There were a few things I wish he would’ve talked more about or just mention such as how his parents reacted when he and jazzy Jeff were heard on the radio, the part of him that would lash out and get violent etc etc。 It gave a deeper look into who he is as a person and I appreciate it as a reader。

Best autobiography ever, much easier to read than the one of Obama 😂。

Hollywood-type memoirs aren’t my thing, so I was hesitant to read this。 A friend said it was one of the best books she had read all year, so I gave it a whirl while looking for some mindless beach reading。 The book is lighthearted and funny, and raw in some areas。 It appears putting pen to paper was a cathartic exercise for Smith, and I was entertained。

this is an AMAZING biography, bar none。 it's insightful to think that as much revelation as is the subject matter for this book, there's so much more to the character and person of Will Smith that isn't discussed in this book。 people are such deep constructs of thoughts, motivation and behavior。i feel that the vulnerability that's expressed through out the story of Will's life will definitely withstand the test of time and will shine light into the lives of those of us who struggle with the need this is an AMAZING biography, bar none。 it's insightful to think that as much revelation as is the subject matter for this book, there's so much more to the character and person of Will Smith that isn't discussed in this book。 people are such deep constructs of thoughts, motivation and behavior。i feel that the vulnerability that's expressed through out the story of Will's life will definitely withstand the test of time and will shine light into the lives of those of us who struggle with the need to always attune our attention to a project, person or endeavor。 this is a great work of literature, even more so, the audiobook version, which was entertaining, heart warming, as well as reflectively insightful。 will recommend, 100% 。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 Very good read! The only reason is because it’s not a favorite of mine given the genre but if rated only against its own genre it’d for sure be 5 stars。 The audiobook is definitely the best way to read it because he narrates it himself。 I appreciated his honesty in how he felt and thought and acted even when he was in the wrong。 Interesting and fun read!

Yes。 Does he know this? Yes。 I don't think I could expect any less from understanding his childhood and the work that was involved in forming his career。 。。。more

I listened to this on Audible and it was so good。 Great narrative pacing, Will is obviously super charismatic, plus there is a lot of cool production extras included (music, voices) - really well done。 I read this after “the slap” - it was already on my list before that。 It’s actually pretty interesting to read it in hindsight to get into what goes on in his mind。 I’d say this book is a must read for any Gen X’r who grew up with Will’s career。

I was pleasantly surprised by this book。 Will Smith is a very smart, insightful guy。 It was very interesting to read about his childhood and the journey of creating his career。

The first half of the book was 5 stars。 I loved the stories of his childhood, his beginnings in rap and acting。 I was a huge fan of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince…。 I was 11 or 12 when it came out and played that tape over and over。However the last half about his movies career, even just the last third of it just felt braggy。 It was a lot of listing of accomplishments and I get it, he’s been successful, that’s great but I liked the story part better。
