Super fun read! Love creating new voices each time I read aloud to my son。

From a pack of Boynton board books that I picked up at Costco the other day。Has some cute rhymes, but nothing stands out to me about this one。 Also, the phone thing is dated--ended up explaining to my toddler why one way of holding the receiver was "right" and the other was "wrong。"Nothing "wrong" with that, since it was probably still current when the book was drawn, but because of that it wasn't the best illustration of the concept anymore。 From a pack of Boynton board books that I picked up at Costco the other day。Has some cute rhymes, but nothing stands out to me about this one。 Also, the phone thing is dated--ended up explaining to my toddler why one way of holding the receiver was "right" and the other was "wrong。"Nothing "wrong" with that, since it was probably still current when the book was drawn, but because of that it wasn't the best illustration of the concept anymore。 。。。more

This book is great for engaging the youngest of learners in the basic concept of opposites。 The characters are very friendly and happy to watch。 Each page is super simple in both the pictures and the concept of opposites。 This is very helpful for a young child to process what the text is trying to convey。 Opposites is engaging for children to pick up and read independently as well。 It encourages read to self skills by keeping the pictures and text direct and explicit。 This book is great for engaging the youngest of learners in the basic concept of opposites。 The characters are very friendly and happy to watch。 Each page is super simple in both the pictures and the concept of opposites。 This is very helpful for a young child to process what the text is trying to convey。 Opposites is engaging for children to pick up and read independently as well。 It encourages read to self skills by keeping the pictures and text direct and explicit。 。。。more

One of my son's favorites。 The book is simple, educational, and has nice rhymes。 You can make the book sound as simple or complex as you like, which makes it even more fun and interesting。 One of my son's favorites。 The book is simple, educational, and has nice rhymes。 You can make the book sound as simple or complex as you like, which makes it even more fun and interesting。 。。。more

You can never go wrong with a Boynton book。 Opposites did not disappoint Parker or I with its humor, silly illustrations, or fun text。 Of course, I had to do a bit (bunch!) of explaining。 But I know that one day Parker will be leading the discussion。 I’m so glad he listens now。 Still working on his Mom😂

A cute Spanish book all about opposites。 I personally enjoy the Boynton books with an actual storyline, so it wasn't one of our favorites。 But it was cute, and a good way to teach the kids opposites, and some vocabulary words in Spanish as well。 A cute Spanish book all about opposites。 I personally enjoy the Boynton books with an actual storyline, so it wasn't one of our favorites。 But it was cute, and a good way to teach the kids opposites, and some vocabulary words in Spanish as well。 。。。more

Opposites is a quick and simple way to teach children about things that are opposite of each other。 After reading the book, you could ask your child if they can think of any other opposites that weren’t listed in the book。

Opposities by Sandra Boynton can be used to target rhyming which is an early phonological awareness skill。 Additionally, it can be used to target a variety of language concepts which are opposites such as big vs。 tall, fast vs。 slow, high vs。 low。

It's hard to be "new" and "different" with opposites books, for obvious reasons。 But this one is solid, with sufficiently silly art and enough rhyming to keep it moving。 It's hard to be "new" and "different" with opposites books, for obvious reasons。 But this one is solid, with sufficiently silly art and enough rhyming to keep it moving。 。。。more

This is another delightful Boynton book where she compares opposites with fun and silly caricatures。 And of course, each page rhymes! Boynton's books are always fun and education and delight our little humans without being torture for the big people to read over and over。 This is another delightful Boynton book where she compares opposites with fun and silly caricatures。 And of course, each page rhymes! CONCEPTS:Opposites by Sandra Boynton is a super cute book for younger children in kindergarten and first grade。 It is a very simple book and help you learn about opposites。 This book is also good when learning to rhyme。 For example, in the first couple of pages it reads: "Big and small。 Short and tall。 High and low。 Fast and slow。" The illustrations also go along with the words on the pages。 For FAST there is an animal running and for SLOW there is a snail。 The illustrations are simple yet color CONCEPTS:Opposites by Sandra Boynton is a super cute book for younger children in kindergarten and first grade。 It is a very simple book and help you learn about opposites。 This book is also good when learning to rhyme。 For example, in the first couple of pages it reads: "Big and small。 Short and tall。 High and low。 Fast and slow。" The illustrations also go along with the words on the pages。 For FAST there is an animal running and for SLOW there is a snail。 The illustrations are simple yet colorful and very pleasing to the eye。 I would definitely recommend this book for younger children and especially children learning to read because it is full of easy and simple words。 。。。more

Another great read for character description for students! I would love to discuss opposites with my class before and after reading this book to them! I'd like to see how many opposite things they could come up with。 I enjoyed the heavy and light illustration where the elephant and rabbit were on the see-saw。 It really gave a good depiction of the definition of heavy and light! Opposites was such a fun-filled, silly book full of wonderful illustrations。 The book is centered around many opposites that a child might see in the world and it gives a great representation of each opposite。 Text in this book is very limited so the pictures must show the meaning of the opposites in which it does。 On one page Sandra represents the opposite Heavy and light with a rabbit and an elephant。 The difference between the two animals sizes is well shown through the illustration。 It rhyme Opposites was such a fun-filled, silly book full of wonderful illustrations。 The book is centered around many opposites that a child might see in the world and it gives a great representation of each opposite。 Text in this book is very limited so the pictures must show the meaning of the opposites in which it does。 On one page Sandra represents the opposite Heavy and light with a rabbit and an elephant。 The difference between the two animals sizes is well shown through the illustration。 It rhymed, it was colorful, and fun to read。 A teacher could do so much with this book and a lesson on opposites。 I really enjoyed this one, especially for my young readers。 Those that are just starting to read and learning concepts like opposites。 This book is a great addition to a kindergarten or preschool classroom。 。。。more
