Summary

Meet P。 J。 Funnybunny in this humorous and touching Beginner Book by Marilyn Sadler and Roger Bollen。 It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny tells the “tail” of P。J。 and his quest to become something other than what he is。 Is it more fun to be a bear, a bird, or a pig? Read along as P。J。 tries to determine who he is—and where he belongs。

Originally created by Dr。 Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning。

"Sick of being a bunny, P。 J。 Funnybunny takes off to become a bear。 Hibernation gets dull, so he tries being a bird。 And so it goes, with beavers, pigs, possums, and skunks--till P。 J。 realizes that bunnyhood is for him。 The short, repeating text is ideal for beginners and the bright, humorous cartoons will get immediate attention。"-- School Library Journal。

The perfect book to read to children when explaining why and how everyone's identities are unique and make them special。 The book talks about a bunny who does not like his way of living but then he experiences other lives and none of them compare to his life at home。 It is the perfect book to teach gratitude and to love oneself for who you are。 The perfect book to read to children when explaining why and how everyone's identities are unique and make them special。 The book talks about a bunny who does not like his way of living but then he experiences other lives and none of them compare to his life at home。 It is the perfect book to teach gratitude and to love oneself for who you are。 。。。more

I like this book。 The bunny wants to be every other animal but himself。 Then at the end of the book after trying to live like the other animals。 He realized he wanted to be himself。 A bunny。

Genre: Modern FantasyGrade Range: PreK - 2ndThis was a cute book! I really liked that the author brought the book around in a full loop。 P。J。 did not want to be a bunny and at the end he appreciated being a bunny! This book made me laugh sometimes。 I liked that it had a pattern to it! This would be a great book to read with younger children!

From the "I Can Read It All By Myself" series, illustrator Roger Bolden has created a cute bunny with enormous ears (P。J。 Funnybunny), and author Marilyn Sadler has written about his misadventures when he decides his life is not satisfactory。 He joins a series of other animal families to see whether the grass is greener elsewhere。 For me, I prefer other books in this series。 From the "I Can Read It All By Myself" series, illustrator Roger Bolden has created a cute bunny with enormous ears (P。J。 Funnybunny), and author Marilyn Sadler has written about his misadventures when he decides his life is not satisfactory。 He joins a series of other animal families to see whether the grass is greener elsewhere。 For me, I prefer other books in this series。 。。。more

This book is about a bunny who did not like being a bunny。 He was tired of eating carrots, had too many brothers and sisters, and had too big of ears。 He decided to try living and being different animals but he was never happy trying to be someone else。 Finally he decided to go back home and he was happy, he missed eating carrots, being with all of his siblings, and he grew to like his big ears。 He was proud to show who he was instead of trying to fit in with others。 This is a good lesson for ch This book is about a bunny who did not like being a bunny。 He was tired of eating carrots, had too many brothers and sisters, and had too big of ears。 He decided to try living and being different animals but he was never happy trying to be someone else。 Finally he decided to go back home and he was happy, he missed eating carrots, being with all of his siblings, and he grew to like his big ears。 He was proud to show who he was instead of trying to fit in with others。 This is a good lesson for children to learn so they are confident in being themselves and not trying to fit in to please others。 。。。more

Marilyn Sadler creates a story in which a bunny does not want to live at home amongst the chaos。 The rabbit moves from house to house and in the end realizes that he belongs at home with his family。 This beautiful story is meant to teach young children that though you may be unhappy at the moment, the place you belong is always home with family。 This story helps children see animals and their spelling while teaching them about the housing for different animals。 This is a great lesson that could Marilyn Sadler creates a story in which a bunny does not want to live at home amongst the chaos。 The rabbit moves from house to house and in the end realizes that he belongs at home with his family。 This beautiful story is meant to teach young children that though you may be unhappy at the moment, the place you belong is always home with family。 This story helps children see animals and their spelling while teaching them about the housing for different animals。 This is a great lesson that could be intertwined with a science lesson to follow。 。。。more

There really isn't all that much to say about this book。 It is a cute, simple book great for younger kids。 It is a part of the beginner books collection intended for children to improve their reading skills and learn to read on their own。 There is no real deeper meaning or hidden lessons apart from something similar to my review of "I Want to Be Somebody New。" Ultimately, there is a sense of realizing you are happiest as yourself without trying to change the core concept of who you are。 However, There really isn't all that much to say about this book。 It is a cute, simple book great for younger kids。 It is a part of the beginner books collection intended for children to improve their reading skills and learn to read on their own。 There is no real deeper meaning or hidden lessons apart from something similar to my review of "I Want to Be Somebody New。" Ultimately, there is a sense of realizing you are happiest as yourself without trying to change the core concept of who you are。 However, I do not think that that is something the intended audience would concern themselves with。 The book features a repetitive storytelling element of repeating and adding onto the name of each animal that P。J。 tries to be。 The illustrations are very bright and colorful without being incredibly detailed, but still effective。 There are double-page spreads featuring all of the different animals and the scenery they are associated with。 This is a fun way for students to improve their reading skills and also increase their familiarity with different animals and writing them in both the singular and plural forms。 I see no issues with this book and would happily keep it in my classroom library。 。。。more

A sweet book where a bunny thinks he wants to be a different kind of animal, only to realize he actually loves being a bunny after all。

But kids are bound to find his quest funny。 Unfortunately perpetuates the stereotype that rabbits eat nothing but carrots (which are too sugary to be healthy for buns except as a sometimes treat)。 PJ should be sick of HAY。 :) 。。。more

My kids ask for this book every night this week。 I love the illustrations。 This is a great book for teaching about different animals。 It also has a good message about it being okay to be yourself。

Enjoyable read - young children。 Great repetition!

I got this book for my very adult daughter who will soon graduate college。 It's main message seems to be it's fine to go out in the world, learn new things, and experience tons of different things and cultures。 What I really liked was that it circles back around to say that while you're doing all that it is also fine to be exactly who you are。 I got this book for my very adult daughter who will soon graduate college。 It's main message seems to be it's fine to go out in the world, learn new things, and experience tons of different things and cultures。 What I really liked was that it circles back around to say that while you're doing all that it is also fine to be exactly who you are。 。。。more

I really think children would like this book because it very silly。 The bunny in the book is even named P。J。 Funnybunny。 I think children would like this book because the illustrations help tell the story。 I would recommend this book to teachers to read, especially when looking for a fun, entertaining book for their students。

Great story with a great message。 I thought this book was a fun read and I enjoyed the underlying message the story had。 This book is great for young children, I had never heard of this book until recently but I am sure if I was a child I would enjoy it。

5 stars。Ok ok so my childhood nostalgia is coming into play here just a little, but here me out, it is still a really great picture book。 It's funny and the message is about loving who you are。 What's not to like about that。I'm sure most of us have been in PJ's predicament, where he wants to be someone other than who he is。This book also reminds me of that 1994 movie, North。 (https://www。imdb。com/title/tt0110687/)I hadn't realised that there were so many books in this series。 I only ever had the 5 stars。Ok ok so my childhood nostalgia is coming into play here just a little, but here me out, it is still a really great picture book。 It's funny and the message is about loving who you are。 What's not to like about that。I'm sure most of us have been in PJ's predicament, where he wants to be someone other than who he is。This book also reminds me of that 1994 movie, North。 (https://www。imdb。com/title/tt0110687/)I hadn't realised that there were so many books in this series。 I only ever had the first two growing up so I'm looking forward to tracking down the rest。 。。。more
