Summary

A "sublimely creepy" psychological thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover (Tarryn Fisher, New York Times bestselling author)。

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime。 Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish。

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started。 What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read。 Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity's recollection of the night her family was forever altered。

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents could devastate the already grieving father。 But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words。 After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue loving her。

Okay, okay, I do not what to think about this, I really enjoyed this book, and many parts caught me and I had to stop for a moment to think and analyze, because I felt that if I did not do it I was not going to be able to keep reading。This book was amazing

WTF did I just read?! I knew I would be shocked by this book based on other reviews but I did not know what I was getting myself into。 I finished this book in four hours。 Once it was open, I only stopped for the restroom and to refill my water bottle。 Read this if you want to be thoroughly disturbed。 Whew it was twisted。

I would have given this 5 starts since this book was an absolute page turner, however the ending felt a little flat for me。 Anyone else feel this way?

Still a great read though。

I really loved this book up until the ending。 I think it was inconsistent with the level of writing throughout the book and felt like a cop-out。

How does one recover from this book? I can not even figure out what’s going on in my mind right now。 I can’t gather my thoughts。 This story F’ed me up!! And that ENDING!! oof how do you even recover from that?! What do you believe? What is even real?? It is an amazing book。 The storyline。 the characters。 The creepiness。 The darkness。 I just …。 Do yourself a favor and read it! You won’t regret it!! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!

To say I was hooked is an understatement。 I was reading into early morning hours and at work。 This book kept me hooked from page one。 I somewhat forced my friends to read it and it’s a big hit with absolutely everyone。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Holy shit。 I finished this book literally ten minutes ago and I am shocked to the core。 I figured the book would be over when Lowen told Jeremy about the manuscript and they killed Verity but holy shit was I surprised。 When Lowen found the letter talking about what “actually” happened I didn’t register it like I didn’t even realize what was going on。 The fact that she didn’t even ask Jeremy what happened and just shredded up the paper and flushed it away??????? I will need like 2-3 business days Holy shit。 I finished this book literally ten minutes ago and I am shocked to the core。 I figured the book would be over when Lowen told Jeremy about the manuscript and they killed Verity but holy shit was I surprised。 When Lowen found the letter talking about what “actually” happened I didn’t register it like I didn’t even realize what was going on。 The fact that she didn’t even ask Jeremy what happened and just shredded up the paper and flushed it away??????? Me lo ha hecho pasar bien, con un buen giro final。 Pero el final abierto (qué manía más tonta) y las escenas de sexo a lo “señor y señora Grey” (qué moda más tonta) me han enfriado。 Así que un aprobado alto。

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The amount of peer pressure I got from people to read this book… and here I am finally caving。 I can’t tell you why this book took me as long as it did to read。 Actually, wait… yes I can。 It was the anxiety that this book wouldn’t live up to the hype。, especially since I am your registered book nerd who hates popular books。 🤣So what did I think of it? it was REALLY good and extremely complex, which I expected from Colleen Hoover— the QUEEN of messing with you from start to finish。What di ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The amount of peer pressure I got from people to read this book… and here I am finally caving。 I can’t tell you why this book took me as long as it did to read。 Actually, wait… yes I can。 It was the anxiety that this book wouldn’t live up to the hype。, especially since I am your registered book nerd who hates popular books。 🤣So what did I think of it? it was REALLY good and extremely complex, which I expected from Colleen Hoover— the QUEEN of messing with you from start to finish。What did I enjoy? 1。 I loved the dark & twisty that was Verity— her autobiography was something I have never read before。 2。 The book was fast paced and really kept me interested。 I read the whole book in one sitting。 I couldn’t put it down。3。 The plot twist at the end… well let’s just say that one is going to stick with me for a hot minute。 4。 Men are trash。 What did I not enjoy? 1。 I hated Lowen… I mean REALLY hated her character。 I hate characters that just whine and complain, and Lowen did plenty of it。 She got better towards the end, but she didn’t redeem herself in my eyes。2。 Trigger warnings for abuse— I am still trying to gather my thoughts on Hoover’s approach in this book。 So, come back for that later。3。 The ending… especially chapter 23。 I hate it when I, as a reader, feel I don’t get enough explanation or closure & this book was no exception。 Overall, I could see myself rereading this book sometime, and recommend it to some friends。 Was this my favorite book of Colleen Hoover? No, but it is high in the rankings。 。。。more
