Summary

In a post-apocalyptic world of vampires vs。 humans, Yuichiro brings vengeance upon his vampire overlords!

After trumpets of the apocalypse proclaim the fall of humanity, vampires arise from the shadows to rule the earth。 Yuichiro wants just one thing—to get revenge by killing each and every vampire。

Ferid has successfully coerced Shinoa Squad and Mika into joining him and Crowley on a field trip to Osaka。 According to Ferid, the purpose of the trip is to see the truth behind the calamity that ended the word—ground zero of the apocalypse in Osaka。 But not all is as it seems, as vampire nobles from across the world are also converging on Osaka!

3。5 stars I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as the others, mainly because I was a little confused about all the connections between different characters, and with the introduction of new characters, it was a lot to take in。 However, overall it was still good and I liked it。 3。5 stars I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as the others, mainly because I was a little confused about all the connections between different characters, and with the introduction of new characters, it was a lot to take in。 However, overall it was still good and I liked it。 。。。more

Well it seems each time I'm starting off with this is getting better and better and its because it really is。 There is some more big information dropped along with finding out a little how the vampire hierarchy works which is really interesting。 Well it seems each time I'm starting off with this is getting better and better and its because it really is。 There is some more big information dropped along with finding out a little how the vampire hierarchy works which is really interesting。 。。。more

I wasn't expecting to like this volume as much as I did。 Kagami pulled out so many reveals this time, with the vampires, a new antagonist, Yoichi's anger towards the vampire who killed his sister, and Gekkouin's human form (which is STUNNING)。 We even got an inner look into the vampires' own corruption, which goes to show how every organization in this franchise doesn't have smooth sailing。 It's honestly quite smart。I'm not sure what's going to happen next with these new developments, but just k I wasn't expecting to like this volume as much as I did。 Kagami pulled out so many reveals this time, with the vampires, a new antagonist, Yoichi's anger towards the vampire who killed his sister, and Gekkouin's human form (which is STUNNING)。 We even got an inner look into the vampires' own corruption, which goes to show how every organization in this franchise doesn't have smooth sailing。 It's honestly quite smart。I'm not sure what's going to happen next with these new developments, but just know I'm very excited and I'm ready。 。。。more

This is an ongoing series so this review is likely to contain spoilers for the previous volumes and of course the current one I'm writing about。Final warning!!(view spoiler)[In a bizarre but interesting turn of events, Ferid Bathory has managed to convince the entirety of the Shinoa Squad to join him and Crowley on a trip to Osaka, though he won't tell them why exactly。 He gives them a hint that it's going to show the truth of how 'the calamity' occurred but that's all。 I loved this pairing simp This is an ongoing series so this review is likely to contain spoilers for the previous volumes and of course the current one I'm writing about。Final warning!!(view spoiler)[In a bizarre but interesting turn of events, Ferid Bathory has managed to convince the entirety of the Shinoa Squad to join him and Crowley on a trip to Osaka, though he won't tell them why exactly。 He gives them a hint that it's going to show the truth of how 'the calamity' occurred but that's all。 I loved this pairing simply because you knew reading that no one trusted each other but at that moment they had no other allies。 It makes for great reading and a massive amount of tension。 I just kept thinking that someone was going to snap。I also loved how we got introduced the vampire nobles from around the world。 They are just as extra and flamboyant as the ones from Japan。 I liveeed for it。 They seem to hate Ferid just as much as everyone else which he revels in。 He remains a favourite character of mine。 (hide spoiler)]www。a-novel-idea。co。uk 。。。more

Ferid Bathory lures a suspicious Yu, Mika, Makoto, and the rest of Shinoa Squad to Osaka Bay, tempting them with promises of revealing both Guren Ichinose’s secrets and those of the Seraph of the End。 Accompanying them is Crowley Eusford, who has goals of his own he wishes to use Ferid and the others to accomplish。 Alas for them all, the entire legion of vampires are waiting for them。 Ferid gets captured and Krul Tepes falls into the hand of Second Progenitor Urd Geales and his army。 Urd Geales Ferid Bathory lures a suspicious Yu, Mika, Makoto, and the rest of Shinoa Squad to Osaka Bay, tempting them with promises of revealing both Guren Ichinose’s secrets and those of the Seraph of the End。 Accompanying them is Crowley Eusford, who has goals of his own he wishes to use Ferid and the others to accomplish。 Alas for them all, the entire legion of vampires are waiting for them。 Ferid gets captured and Krul Tepes falls into the hand of Second Progenitor Urd Geales and his army。 Urd Geales has more important things on his mind than Ferid or the queen, let alone any of the humans with him, for he’s caught the scent of a dangerous, ancient vampire, one that Krul is quite familar with, and that Ferid and Crowley have a grudge deep enough against to ally with Guren Ichinose and his former subordinates。 No, their offers of alliance aren’t all for the sake of Yu’s pretty green eyes, although quite a few characters seem to get sucked into Yu’s impulsive moments of heroic compassion, including Crowley himself。 Perhaps we can all it Yu-ism or Yu-itude? :) Mikaela Hyakuya may argue with Yu’s kindness, but he’s decided to go along with it for now, along with Makoto and Shinoa Squad。 Youichi Saotome has always been a devout follower of Yu-itude, as well as a kind, compassionate boy himself, but much darker impulses rises to the surface at the sight of Lacus Welt, the murderer of Youichi’s sister, to the delight of Gekkouin, Youichi’s demon。 In the meantime, Guren Ichinose has gotten back together his old gang and appears to returning to his former self as he, too, heads for Osaka Bay。 Just how much of what’s happening is going according to Ferid and his plan? Striking changes and deeper explorations of the characters took place in this volume, even as the plot heated up, literally for Ferid Bathory and Krul Tepes。 Readers met monsters far worse than either of them, catching glimpses of Krul and Ferid’s motivations for some of their actions。 Krul revealed more vulnerability, becoming more sympathetic, even as she retained her fierceness while Ferid became a victim for the first time in this series, a victim who generated a measure of pity, even as he takes a bite out of Kimizuki’s neck。 (First Yu, now Kimizuki。 This leaves me wondering if Ferid Bathory will end up chomping on everyone in Shinoa Squad and/or Makoto Narumi。) To balance out this gentler side in the antagonists, one of the normally gentle protagonists showed a sadistic side lurking within his sweetness。 Youichi Saotome is becoming a very complex and well-rounded character, leaving me intrigued as to how he’ll develop in the future。 Mitsuba Saiga had her most hilarious line yet in this series, while Shinoa keeps a cool head and a sense of humour, even if its quality sometimes inspires eyeball rolling。 (Honestly, Shinoa, what did you think a bathroom was for? Don’t let her shame you, Mitsu!) Crowley becomes even more layered in this volume as well, experiencing a turning point as he reacts to Yu’s emotions, becoming more and more intrigued by this boy who under other circumstances he’d love to fight/eat。 Instead, the vampire becomes the young human/demon/seraph’s mentor。 Readers become better acquainted with familar faces, such as Saito, Lest Karr, while revelations came to light about Asuramaru and his past connection to Krul Tepes。 Certain mysteries are starting to unravel, keeping me intrigued, wondering what’s happening, what’s going to happen next, even it as it all presents itself in an exquisitely beautiful art style。 For all of these things, I give this book four stars。 。。。more

More actual action in this one to combat the hefty dialogue。 Lots of discussions that don't really amount to anything but circles, but a couple of very important plot points occur in this volume。 The information is still being reeled out a bit slow for me; this would have been better in 8/9 volumes, since the really good stuff doesn't start until around volume 9/10, but hopefully it continues picking up from here。 More actual action in this one to combat the hefty dialogue。 Lots of discussions that don't really amount to anything but circles, but a couple of very important plot points occur in this volume。 The information is still being reeled out a bit slow for me; this would have been better in 8/9 volumes, since the really good stuff doesn't start until around volume 9/10, but hopefully it continues picking up from here。 。。。more
