in the story there is a girl named olive who is going on a field trip with her class and she found out that some of her class mates are not going on the trip because its too expensive so she does something about it。 I gave it a four because it had a late start to it, and at the end it really got iteresting!

I like this book because it had lots of different ways that are true in life。 I think people who like standing up for whats right will really enjoy this book。

I would give this book four out of five stars。 I enjoyed it, but I didn't like how some of the panels were only pictures and thought it was kind of vague。 I did, however, think that it was interesting how Kayla Miller added extra information onto the end。 I also didn't realize until after reading that it wasn't the first book in the series。 I would give this book four out of five stars。 I enjoyed it, but I didn't like how some of the panels were only pictures and thought it was kind of vague。 I did, however, think that it was interesting how Kayla Miller added extra information onto the end。 I also didn't realize until after reading that it wasn't the first book in the series。 。。。more

This was a wonderful book that helps kids understand peaceful protest, empathy for others, school government and how they can make a difference in their school and community。 The art was well drawn and the characters kept me interested。 Definitely a must read for junior high children who want to know how they can help their school and community through their actions。

When presenting this story to your students, they can learn a valuable lesson if they just look at the bigger picture。 The main character in the story acknowledges that something isn't right and she didn't want to stand back and watch it happen so she decides to take action。 She speaks out and takes a stand even though everyone is not in her favor。 This could be a lesson for students to stand up for what they believe in and do what is right。 When presenting this story to your students, they can learn a valuable lesson if they just look at the bigger picture。 The main character in the story acknowledges that something isn't right and she didn't want to stand back and watch it happen so she decides to take action。 She speaks out and takes a stand even though everyone is not in her favor。 This could be a lesson for students to stand up for what they believe in and do what is right。 。。。more

2021-2022 Bluebonnet NomineeSo what happens when a regular kids perceives injustice at school and decides she wants to do something about it。 She runs for student council。 Unfortunately, some popular friends of hers are also running - as a team。 Shenanigans and hurt feelings ensue, but Olive doesn't give up and she does have friends who are willing to help - even her icky little brother helps。 I won't tell if she wins or loses the election, but I will say the graphics are clean and cute and add 2021-2022 Bluebonnet NomineeSo what happens when a regular kids perceives injustice at school and decides she wants to do something about it。 She runs for student council。 Unfortunately, some popular friends of hers are also running - as a team。 Shenanigans and hurt feelings ensue, but Olive doesn't give up and she does have friends who are willing to help - even her icky little brother helps。 I won't tell if she wins or loses the election, but I will say the graphics are clean and cute and add subtle elements to the story。 。。。more

Fun story about friendship。 Contemporary themes and tone。 Sweet, strong and colorful illustrations。 Details are simple but as needed to comment the story。 And while it will help reading the first two in the series, it is mostly easy to start on this book。 Ages 10 up the best, but concepts are acceptable for younger as well。

This is a fun and interesting comic about activism and doing what is right, with some cool characters and nice art。 CW: (Mild) Poverty

Both fun and ethically conscious, Act shows more of Olive's character, especially her empathy towards other peoples problems。 I really enjoyed this and was pleasantly surprised to find a cookie recipe in the back and a list of peaceful protests through the years。 Both fun and ethically conscious, Act shows more of Olive's character, especially her empathy towards other peoples problems。 I really enjoyed this and was pleasantly surprised to find a cookie recipe in the back and a list of peaceful protests through the years。 。。。more

I enjoyed the third installment of the Click series more than the others! It seemed more mature with deeper themes of service and civic responsibility。 It's interesting that two of the Bluebonnet books so far this year involved student council elections and kids wanting to make a difference in their community。 I enjoyed the third installment of the Click series more than the others! I enjoyed Click, the first book in this graphic novel series, and this one is just as fun。 This one focuses on Olive's interest in issues that affect her classmates and her desire to join student counsel to do something about it。 There's lots of middle-grade issues that kids will relate to (first crushes, changing friendships), and the artwork is perfect for the story。 I enjoyed Click, the first book in this graphic novel series, and this one is just as fun。 This one focuses on Olive's interest in issues that affect her classmates and her desire to join student counsel to do something about it。 There's lots of middle-grade issues that kids will relate to (first crushes, changing friendships), and the artwork is perfect for the story。 。。。more

Love this series because the characters are very real and relatable。 While this wasn’t my favorite novel in the series, I think this novel is great for teaching kids to stand up for what they believe in。

This was a great book about speaking up for what you believe in。 It also tells about listen to others to help them solve their problems。

Ms。 Kayla Miller is amazing! My little and I read this together in 2 days。 I love how author uses a school function to teach about bigger life situations- humanity, charity, and integrity。 The really simple dialogue in the book let’s me and my daughter have open discussions。 We loved this graphic novel。 It’s never too soon to start teaching our 6 & 7 yr olds。

I really liked this graphic novel a lot。 It does a good job of showing why children should care about politics within a school setting (without getting into the stickier parts of politics)。 Characters feel very fleshed out and real。 My only concern is that the ending feels a little contrived, and that the people running against our main character seemed a little too silly。 That said, Miller has a great voice for animating these children on the page, and I hope she keeps it up。

Olive runs for student council。 Cute。 Sometimes reads a little young。 I wouldn't give this to middle schoolers as a recommendation, probably just upper elementary。 Olive runs for student council。 Cute。 Sometimes reads a little young。 I wouldn't give this to middle schoolers as a recommendation, probably just upper elementary。 。。。more
