Summary

E L James revisits the world of Fifty Shades with a deeper and darker take on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the globe。

Their scorching, sensual affair ended in heartbreak and recrimination, but Christian Grey cannot get Anastasia Steele out of his mind, or his blood。 Determined to win her back, he tries to suppress his darkest desires and his need for complete control, and to love Ana on her own terms。

But the horrors of his childhood still haunt him, and Ana’s scheming boss, Jack Hyde, clearly wants her for himself。 Can Christian’s confidant and therapist, Dr。 Flynn, help him face down his demons? Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past?

And if Christian does win Ana back, can a man so dark and damaged ever hope to keep her?

゚: * finishing this book took me longer than i’d like to admit。 i’d say maybe 2 - 3 months? but in my defence, i was still on a reading slump when i started this and i rewatched the film just before, so really, it’s on me。 i was also only reading this when i’m in bed at night and want some reading done so i wasn’t 100% focused。 again, on me。 ✧ ・ giving this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5。 not because it’s bad but because i know the story by heart。 i’ve read ana’s perspective long before it became a movie。 ~ read ゚: * finishing this book took me longer than i’d like to admit。 i’d say maybe 2 - 3 months? but in my defence, i was still on a reading slump when i started this and i rewatched the film just before, so really, it’s on me。 i was also only reading this when i’m in bed at night and want some reading done so i wasn’t 100% focused。 again, on me。 ✧ ・ giving this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5。 not because it’s bad but because i know the story by heart。 i’ve read ana’s perspective long before it became a movie。 ~ reading christian’s side of the story is a breath of fresh air。 i remember finishing grey few years back and how bummed i was when there wasn’t more! darker however, felt slow because like i said, i know the story。 ~ will defo read freed but maybe in a months time。 for now, i’m just happy i finally finished and got this off my list。 。。。more

Great addition I love these books in Christians POV! There were just certain scenes that in his POV are so in depth and amazing and it is exactly what the book series needed!

Cammy

Enjoyable from his point of view。

Unusual love story This story was able to hold my interest, but as the 5th volume in the series, it started to feel like the same old story…。however, I still want to continue with the series with Freed。

Toni

I am a simple girl when it comes to these books, BUT I do LOVE Christians views。。 the inner turmoil this man has because he’s having emotions? I CANT

David

Way better than the movie。

Christian comes across as needy and clingy in this book。 As much as I enjoyed all the books before this one in the series, I think I’ve finally had enough of this story。 Still written in the same easy, flowing style, but it didn’t increase my overall enjoyment。 I’m probably going to give ‘Freed’ a skip。

;) 。。。more

As always, these books are endearing, salacious, and giving。 I absolutely adored this version, being told from Christian's POV。 It really does add an entirely new element。 As if seeing behind the scenes for a scene that you have loved and followed。 Their love story, while unorthodox and some argue slightly toxic due to Christian's tastes, is pure。 He loves her with a depth and intensity that we all wish to be loved like。 Beautifully written and even making me chuckle aloud several times。 As always, these books are endearing, salacious, and giving。 I absolutely adored this version, being told from Christian's POV。 It really does add an entirely new element。 As if seeing behind the scenes for a scene that you have loved and followed。 Their love story, while unorthodox and some argue slightly toxic due to Christian's tastes, is pure。 He loves her with a depth and intensity that we all wish to be loved like。 Beautifully written and even making me chuckle aloud several times。 。。。more

Darker: 5This is the second book in this series。 It seems like his past is not letting go。 Several people are not allowing him to move on。 Especially when he introduces her as his girlfriend。 New enemies are introduced and some issues are coming back to light。 Will he ever have a chance with her? Will he ever have the desired result of being able to love someone?

I absolutely love these books! As much as I enjoy the story from Ana's perspective it's Christian's point of view that really intrigues me and Darker just picks up from where Grey left off。 I would highy recommend this book to E。L James fans everywhere and I can't wait to read Freed and compele the story once and for all! Sept 21 re readI enjoy all of the extra scenes we get from Christians POV, the conversation with his parents about Elena for example。 I always prefer Christians POV to Ana's, but, a big portion of the book is the same as FSD, just from a different POV。 I loved the ball and the auction and the email banter between Christian and Ana。 Sept 21 re readI enjoy all of the extra scenes we get from Christians POV, the conversation with his parents about Elena for example。 I always prefer Christians POV to Ana's, but, a big portion of the book is the same as FSD, just from a different POV。 I loved the ball and the auction and the email banter between Christian and Ana。 。。。more

No way am I finishing this。I don't know why it took me so long to remember how bad and toxic af those books were/are。I guess it's because those were the first "romance" (+smut) books I've basically ever read and damn I thought they were so great and romantic。。。But it's all "Ana's mine" this and "You belong to no one but me" that, Christian Grey is just a toxic and narcissistic asshole 🤢So in conclusion, no thank you, 50 Shades, it's been great before but no, just no。。。 No way am I finishing this。I don't know why it took me so long to remember how bad and toxic af those books were/are。I guess it's because those were the first "romance" (+smut) books I've basically ever read and damn I thought they were so great and romantic。。。But it's all "Ana's mine" this and "You belong to no one but me" that, Christian Grey is just a toxic and narcissistic asshole 🤢So in conclusion, no thank you, 50 Shades, it's been great before but no, just no。。。 。。。more

3。5 stars。 These books are like marmite, you either love them or hate them。 I find them quite enjoyable as I don't take them too seriously and actually read them for the story rather than just for the naughty bits。 I think I prefer the whole story from Christian's POV rather than Anastasia 's。 3。5 stars。 These books are like marmite, you either love them or hate them。 I find them quite enjoyable as I don't take them too seriously and actually read them for the story rather than just for the naughty bits。 I think I prefer the whole story from Christian's POV rather than Anastasia 's。 。。。more

great readLove the books from Christians point of view。 Written really well, addicting, engrossing。 Lots of tension, lots of romance。 Really enjoyed this book and am starting the third book in the Trilogy - though I read the original ones and know the storyline and ending。

I sadly haven’t read the original Fifty Shades of Grey series but I’ve watched the movies。 I really love Christian’s point of view because in the movies I pictured him as a mysterious and strong man。 This book shows that he has feelings and makes him seem like an actual human。

Fascinante, no me canso de estar en la cabeza de Chistian, saber que piensa, que siente, porque hace las cosas, sus miedos, sus inseguridades, todo。 Maravilloso。

Amazing books I couldn't put them down I wasn't sure if I would like the books told by Christian point of view because I loved them from Anastasia point of view and I thought there wouldn't really be a difference between the 2 series but I was wrong there is so much I didn't even think about and now reading both points of view I feel like I was there watching there lives。 These are a must read Amazing books I couldn't put them down I wasn't sure if I would like the books told by Christian point of view because I loved them from Anastasia point of view and I thought there wouldn't really be a difference between the 2 series but I was wrong there is so much I didn't even think about and now reading both points of view I feel like I was there watching there lives。 These are a must read 。。。more

My dear Christian Grey,How many times are you going to make me fall in love with you??? Don't you know? How totally, utterly, irrevocably smitten I'm with you? When I first read fifty shades of darker around 2016 I really loved the book。 Since, then, I reread the book many times and always wondered what was Christian thinking。 I didn't know 'darker' exist until a week ago。 I had such a great time in Christian's head。 It was really fun! It's absolutely similar to fifty shades of darker。 Likewise, My dear Christian Grey,How many times are you going to make me fall in love with you??? Don't you know? Anything to continue to live in this Christian Grey universe & I do seem to prefer the series from his perspective
