Finally got around to reading Emma and I really enjoyed it! I'm pretty familiar with the story but it was fun to actually read the book。 I jointly listened to the audiobook and read the book physically and I'd definitely recommend that route。 Sometimes classic can be a bit challenging and it's nice to have someone read the story to you。Full review to come!

One of my absolute favorites! I always come back to this book and it always delights me! Emma is my favorite Austen character and mr Knightley, of course, is the reason why so many girls get so disappointed when they first venture to their dating adventures。 Pride and prejudice, which i also love dearly, is a close second, because in my opinion the similarity of the main characters situation makes their attachment more securely based on true love, not than i imply anything regarding Lizzie。 Jane One of my absolute favorites!

I kinda would want to force everyone that thinks Jane Austen wrote very sweet romances to read Emma。 Because even if the question of marriage/relationships is central to the book, it's not done in a romancy way at all。 Emma is exhausting and annoying AF。 But she also is a very strongheaded character that does only what she wants。 Some of her dialogues are so modern you kinda wonder how they could have been written so long ago。 Also, this book is VERY entertaining。 My head is spining trying to fo I kinda would want to force everyone that thinks Jane Austen wrote very sweet romances to read Emma。 Because even if the question of marriage/relationships is central to the book, it's not done in a romancy way at all。 Emma is exhausting and annoying AF。 But she also is a very strongheaded character that does only what she wants。 Some of her dialogues are so modern you kinda wonder how they could have been written so long ago。 Also, this book is VERY entertaining。 My head is spining trying to follow everything at each read。 Yeah, Emma is not my favorite, but it's probably one of the best work of Austen。 。。。more

She got me blushing, holding my petticoat, and exclaiming "Oh dear" while fanning myself repeatedly, and although I cannot say I disagree with Jane Austen's quote, I still can't say I truly dislike her。 I mean, she is a bit of a mean girl for sure, but she means no harm。 I guess。。。? 。。。more

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I really liked Emma as a character。 I found her very interesting and her growth was excellent, the same with Mr。 Knightley。 Fir sure one of my favourite Jane Austen books, it truly shows her ability to write great characters, with incredible dialogue and a lot of wit and humour。

I definitely saw the 2020 Emma。 adaptation with Anya Taylor-Joy before I read this but luckily I was still able to recognize and enjoy the humor in this book。 Probably my second-favorite Austen novel out of the 4 I've read。 It was interesting to look at the many ways this book can be interpreted and how "claustrophobic" the whole book is when you think about it in its entirety。 This one was stylish and hilarious and beautifully done, we love。 <3 I definitely saw the 2020 Emma。 adaptation with Anya Taylor-Joy before I read this but luckily I was still able to recognize and enjoy the humor in this book。 Probably my second-favorite Austen novel out of the 4 I've read。 It was interesting to look at the many ways this book can be interpreted and how "claustrophobic" the whole book is when you think about it in its entirety。 This one was stylish and hilarious and beautifully done, we love。 <3 。。。more
