A brief commentary on the book "Winning" by Jack WeltchThe first comment I have about this book is that it is a very practical book。 Unlike management books that give advice very distant from the reality of the person， this book is attached to the day-to-day aspects of the organization。 Anyone who wants to have a winning company， or who is a contributor to a large， medium or small company can take full advantage of this book。The book is composed in 4 parts， what happens in the background of the A brief commentary on the book "Winning" by Jack WeltchThe first comment I have about this book is that it is a very practical book。 Unlike management books that give advice very distant from the reality of the person， this book is attached to the day-to-day aspects of the organization。 Anyone who wants to have a winning company， or who is a contributor to a large， medium or small company can take full advantage of this book。The book is composed in 4 parts， what happens in the background of the company， the management of the company， its competition and the management of its professional career。I really like the approach of the first part。 It talks about how to make the company's values and mission conception in such a way that anyone in the organization can breathe and practice。 It also talks about differentiation strategies that the company can adopt and a subject that is very popular in the book is about frankness。 Jack defends tooth and nail the need for frankness in the employee-company relationship or even more specifically manager-employee。 It presents some advantages for this approach， one of the main advantages is noticed in the performance and dismissal evaluation process。The second part of the book talks about business management， it starts with a perspective on what it means to be a leader: when you are a technician， the whole work process has to do with the person himself， but when you are a leader the work process has to do with others。 Another important topic discussed during this session is the constitution of a winning team。 ** This chapter is brutal **。 It presents a framework for choosing employees in addition to 3 additional criteria that the chapter in question addresses。 The framework consists of 4E and 1P。 I will not give espoilers about this framework which in my opinion is fantastic and very practical。The session ends with difficult topics， such as managing dismissals and crises。The third and final session talks about the person's career。 The most important topic is about getting promoted。 It is rarely talked about in a practical way what can be done to be promoted。 This session speaks openly on the subject。 In short， you need to show results that are both expected of you and some that your boss does not expect， it is about exceeding the expectations of your managers and a little luck。 He also talks about complicated topics such as dealing with a damn boss and finally how to find a balance between personal and professional life。 The latter is the most realistic approach I have seen so far。It was a two-week read， but it was worth a lot。 I recommend this book to everyone who wants to understand how to win within a company or anyone who wants their company to win。 。。。more
