Though this one didn’t reel me in quite as quickly as some of the other novellas in the series, bu the end I was fully invested in Meg and Basil’s story。 I loved their shared ferocity and passion in defending the magical library and I loved their sentient House。

A great twist on a classicThis was a fun, clean, short novel and a twist on "A Midsummer Night's Dream。" It is well written and edited。 I've enjoyed each book I've read so far written by Tara Grayce。 A great twist on a classicThis was a fun, clean, short novel and a twist on "A Midsummer Night's Dream。" It is well written and edited。 I've enjoyed each book I've read so far written by Tara Grayce。 。。。more

Good, but wish it was longer!I liked the world building, the semi-sentient house and talking pony。 I quite liked both main characters too, especially Basil。 He was a breath of fresh air as far as romance male leads go。 I do wish the relationship had a bit more time to develop, because I felt their connection and care for each other but didn’t really feel a lot of chemistry。 Probably because there was a lot going on, and not really much time for any chemistry - and I didn’t mind that, but the boo Good, but wish it was longer!I liked the world building, the semi-sentient house and talking pony。 I quite liked both main characters too, especially Basil。 He was a breath of fresh air as far as romance male leads go。 I do wish the relationship had a bit more time to develop, because I felt their connection and care for each other but didn’t really feel a lot of chemistry。 Probably because there was a lot going on, and not really much time for any chemistry - and I didn’t mind that, but the book could have used at least one more chapter before the Midsummer night。 。。。more

Sweet and DeadlyLoved this book!We all have imagined a magical life。 Especially if it meant a better future at the moment。But, at what cost?

I loved the concept of the world building。 A semi-sentient house, doors that opened to where you needed to go, a sentient library tree。 Amazing! Execution was just not there。 I was told, I wasn’t shown。 All of a sudden they were just in love。 Despite sharing like twoEvenings together and the female mc not being likable or even enjoying the male mc。 Also, this is supposed to be a standalone but the king and queen are from a series prior and I’m thinking the quad group of friends are too? A delightful Midsummer mix up!This story is sweet, fun, and relaxing。 A perfect get-away- from-it-all read for adults and children。I fell in love with Basil and Buddy the pony, and the drama in the fae courts was great fun。A perfect summer read!

CuteCute and enjoyable novella, although I feel like I didn't quite deeply connect to the characters--but Basil and Meg were still cute and I liked how they weren'twhat each other expected but were what each other needed once they accepted each other for who they were。 I think my expectations would have been a bit different and I might have enjoyed it more if I knew it was partly an A Midsummer Night's Dream retelling going in, and all the inanity of that would be going on in the background。 CuteCute and enjoyable novella, although I feel like I didn't quite deeply connect to the characters--but Basil and Meg were still cute and I liked how they weren'twhat each other expected but were what each other needed once they accepted each other for who they were。 I think my expectations would have been a bit different and I might have enjoyed it more if I knew it was partly an A Midsummer Night's Dream retelling going in, and all the inanity of that would be going on in the background。 。。。more

The Fae Librarian takes a farmer wifeFun story about a fae librarian getting up his courage to find and steal a bride。 Meg is kind, courageous, and has hidden talents。 Basil is also kind and caring。 This book had great world building and interesting adventures with a satisfactory ending。 New book friends for me!

LOVED💚💚💚💚 THIS ONE!!!!! It was sooooo fun and refreshing for a change。 Tara Grayce has such an imagination and good sense of humor。 Meg and Basil are perfect for each other。 She adds a bit of fun to Basil's sensible nature。 And he adds a sense of belonging that she always wanted。 I💚LOVE how Basil and Meg work as a team to stop the threats to the realm。 I also 💚LOVE that Basil found something that Meg can do at the library。 He is just so sweet。 The ending was so AMAZING。 I💚LOVED it。 This book has LOVED💚💚💚💚 THIS ONE!!!!! This book was fun and interesting。 It started out a little bit slow but it did get better。 I thought some of the creatures in here were awfully strange but no different than any of the other fairytales I’ve read。 The ending was good but it was a little bit corny。

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my favorite!! Generally, I'm not fond of kidnapped person stories。 But considering the kidnapping was on purpose, I can't help but be fond of this one。 XDI liked the characters, their development, and the world around them。 Everything was done so well, and maybe what could have been done better was the romantic development aspect but it didn't bother me as much (probably because I was blinded by libraries and a cool magical world)。 Besides, this is a novella。Anyway, overall, I didn't find anything specific to Generally, I'm not fond of kidnapped person stories。 But considering the kidnapping was on purpose, I can't help but be fond of this one。 XDI liked the characters, their development, and the world around them。 Everything was done so well, and maybe what could have been done better was the romantic development aspect but it didn't bother me as much (probably because I was blinded by libraries and a cool magical world)。 Besides, this is a novella。Anyway, overall, I didn't find anything specific to hate。 A good story。 :)Content: Doesn't get past kissing, the romance。 There does exists a court, however who likes to wear leaves as their clothing xD 。。。more

This is a fun story。 I took off one star because it could have used a more thorough edit, and another because of some miscellaneous issues like characters knowing things they couldn't have known。 Overall, though, I enjoyed this。 I've read a lot of fairy tale retellings, but it was a fun surprise to encounter a retelling of a Shakespeare play (A Midsummer Night's Dream)。 I enjoyed seeing the familiar AMND characters come to life and play out a very similar but different plot in a new setting。 It This is a fun story。 I took off one star because it could have used a more thorough edit, and another because of some miscellaneous issues like characters knowing things they couldn't have known。 Overall, though, I enjoyed this。 I've read a lot of fairy tale retellings, but it was a fun surprise to encounter a retelling of a Shakespeare play (A Midsummer Night's Dream)。 I enjoyed seeing the familiar AMND characters come to life and play out a very similar but different plot in a new setting。 It was also fun to catch some lines from Shakespeare thrown into different contexts。 I hope the author will consider writing a sequel that's a retelling of some other Shakespeare play! 。。。more

Really liked itI wasn't too keen about the idea of a "stolen bride"。 Kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, just didn't sound like my cup of tea。 But this book isn't like that at all。 Plus, I've read Tara Grayce's other books, so I knew it would be good。 And I was right。 Really liked itI wasn't too keen about the idea of a "stolen bride"。 Kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, just didn't sound like my cup of tea。 But this book isn't like that at all。 Plus, I've read Tara Grayce's other books, so I knew it would be good。 And I was right。 。。。more

4。5 a little rushed but I still enjoyed the characters。 I would read a fleshed out novel or even trilogy in this world with these characters。

A hard-working librarian who is considerate towards his wife's needs, a gentle fae but who also has the capacity to fight when needed, who wouldn't want that?Buddy was a delight, and a great addition to the book。 I also liked Puck even though he could be a nuisance at times。The best part of the book was the magic。 It had me constantly wishing that I could live in a place like that。The ending was very satisfying with the villain getting what he deserved, and for once I was thankful that the main characters weren't very forgiving towards him。Having read a few books by the author before, I had very high expectations from this one, and I'm glad it turned out so well。 。。。more

Read on the principle that I read everything Tara Grayce writes。 This was darling, as always。 My favourite part was where the mild-mannered fae librarian turns up on his rotund pony to trundle away the human farm girl who has helpfully plonked herself in the middle of the enchanted fae glade in the hopes of catching a wealthy fae lord。

I'd give this one 4。5 stars if the system allowed that。 I don't know how a story can be so charming, yet have so many monsters and fighting in it, but this one manages to do so。 I was hooked from the start, but what avid fantasy reader wouldn't be hooked by an ancient, sentient, library of knowledge? I liked Basil and Meg and the world was really interesting。 The one reason I dropped this from 5 stars was (no spoilers) that there were a couple of places where the main characters (mainly Meg) had I'd give this one 4。5 stars if the system allowed that。 I don't know how a story can be so charming, yet have so many monsters and fighting in it, but this one manages to do so。 I was hooked from the start, but what avid fantasy reader wouldn't be hooked by an ancient, sentient, library of knowledge?
