I felt like I was trapped through most of it because of the limited storyline。

After discovering his vulnerable and gentle side, I wouldn’t know how to act either。 Contemplating whether to give out all the true statements to throw him into jail? Or to save him as how she was grateful that he introduced her to that wildlife she herself didn’t know she came around to love? He was kind and gentle, at some point he was sweet but was it enough to dismiss the fact that he still committed a crime; where he kidnapped and forced her out of her will to live the life he thought she was better in? Was the “love” she was developing towards him enough to beat the trauma he gave her? Was she experiencing Stockholm Syndrome just like other people say? These rolling-in questions were multipling in my head as a reader。 I’m still in confusion, idk what to feel at the moment but i’m pretty upset that i read this book too fast。 Now i’m afraid the next book i read is not as good as this。 。。。more

Have people maybe considered instead of giving a novel a really low rating that perhaps the book just。。。 wasn't made for them? I've been working fulltime on an audio-free edit commission so I've been flying though audio books at the minute and I picked to listen to this novel because it was really high up on my TBR list as a teen。 I've definitely outgrown novels like this but I am well aware that teen me woukd have loved this! And she decided to not lie in court and tell everything he did because even though he loved her and she did also loved him it was actually wrong to steal her away from her normal life。 I really loved this one。 I wanted this book to never end。 Will definitely Reread<3 。。。more

Este libro fue el que me hizo regresar a la lectura en prepa, soy una persona súper visual y recuerdo que la autora describía tanto las cosas que era imposible no poder imaginártelo sin batallar。 Y la historia wow。

Bruh im so sad but mad at Ty why did he take her? Why didn't he wait till she was 18? How long of prison did he have? Do they end up together in the end? But i don't know that is me sad cause has a heart like as bright as the horizon sun。 my heart hurts bruh but I love the experience of how much detail is added making you feel like your apart of the scene。 Bruh im so sad but mad at Ty why did he take her? I personally did not like the way the book was written, there are no chapters and it’s put in the form of a letter which was strange and I couldn’t put a face to the antagonist at all which made it hard to read

I'm so late to this book, but if you're reading this to see if you'd like this book I guess you're late too。 I liked this book! I never thought Gemma was in any danger of being significantly hurt but the author still pulled me in with every word。

Ok, wow。 This book was amazing and beautiful。 The main character Gemma acted in a very realistic way and the capturer Ty had a realistic mindset for a kidnapper。 The ending made this book very unique, but god, did it make me unsatisfied。 I need to know what happens further in their relationship, as she only started liking him towards the end。 Please read this book, it will keep you CAPTURED haha。

Amazing book。 Incredibly descriptive and honestly, it was such an emotional rollercoaster reading this book。 However, if this book was just solely based on two normal people with no themes involved, it would be a dull read which is amazing actually。

This book gave me a really uneasy feeling。 I dreaded to pick this up after reading it last night and it just felt bad。 I didn't really like Gemma's character that much。 I also just didn't like the way it was written。 It's written kind of like her "thoughts" I guess for the character。 Lucy Christopher does this thing where the writing is like "You look at me。 You ask if I want food。" I just didn't like it at all and I didn't like reading it。 This book gave me a really uneasy feeling。 I dreaded to pick this up after reading it last night and it just felt bad。 I didn't really like Gemma's character that much。 I also just didn't like the way it was written。 It's written kind of like her "thoughts" I guess for the character。 Lucy Christopher does this thing where the writing is like "You look at me。 You ask if I want food。" I just didn't like it at all and I didn't like reading it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 yikes。 i did not like this book。 when i went into it, i was expecting some kind of intense thriller full of crazy guys with axes who abduct girls, not a fluffy little desert piece about two little perverts。 i know that the point of this book is that the reader is supposed to want ty and gemma to end up together in a sick and twisted kind of way, because the reader is supposed to feel the stockholm syndrome that gemma feels。 but it REALLY didn't work for me。 maybe because i'm gay。 and i guess tha yikes。 i did not like this book。 when i went into it, i was expecting some kind of intense thriller full of crazy guys with axes who abduct girls, not a fluffy little desert piece about two little perverts。 i know that the point of this book is that the reader is supposed to want ty and gemma to end up together in a sick and twisted kind of way, because the reader is supposed to feel the stockholm syndrome that gemma feels。 but it REALLY didn't work for me。 maybe because i'm gay。 and i guess that the reason that people don't find ty despicable is because he had a troubled past and he's also very handsome with tight abs and bright blue eyes, and also he's a real gentleman because he NEVER tried to get the 16 year old girl that he kidnapped and followed since she was 10 to have sex with him。 i mean seriously。 everything that ty did was just a little TOO weird for me to get on board with the stockholm syndrome thing。 like he grew up without any good kind of education, he formed an emotional attachment to a 10 year old that he met in a park when he was 18! if i could bold things i would bold 18。 you have to be really fucked in the head to get attached to a random 10 year old girl like that。 and honestly it's worse that he didn't want to fuck her when she was 10 or even want to steal her because then he's just a peeping tom。 he followed her around for like 4 YEARS before he decided to take her。 that's absolutely horrifying。 and the fact that he NEVER saw the awfulness or the creepiness of what he'd done the entire time he told gemma about it。 that's just disgusting。 so right off the bat, i didn't like ty, but i also didn't like gemma that much either。 i don't know why the whole like 'rich teenager who has distant parents' trope is so common, and why people think that the reader is going to feel sorry for them。 someone who grows up rich with distant parents and doesn't have any sense of what it feels like to genuinely suffer is not a sympathetic character。 and honestly gemma did not have any defining characteristics。 it was shocking that ty chose her to watch for 6 years, honestly。 and i do see how that part of the book is gemma's development as a person and how the wilderness did help her see what her old life was missing and give her a real experience, but there wasn't enough for me to like in the beginning that made me want to root for her the whole time。 and honestly anyone who's stupid enough to be smitten by a little coffee-buying pervert in an airport doesn't deserve any sympathy from me。 straight women are CRAZY!!! girl!!!! go eat some pussy or something。 jesus christ。 anyway, i didn't like the characters enough for them to want to get together, but at the same time i was kind of hoping that they would just so something INTERESTING would happen。 honestly, both stars that i'm giving this book are for the wilderness。 it was described really well, and i would never want to go or live there, but it really did have a magical quality to it。 but one thing that i do want to point out is that the letter format in this book does not make sense。 it's too detailed to be a letter。 it's literally just an exact retelling of what happened。 it did not need to be in letter form。 the review of this book that starts off with a gif of snape saying like 'i am displeased' or something like that really put all of my thoughts into words, so if future evelyn is curious she should read that review, but anyway i thought this book had a cool concept but it DID NOT work for me。 i really think i should just start reading books that have no men in them at all。 all wlw reads forever! i wish。 。。。more

After finishing this book I truly don’t know how to feel。 I hated Ty for taking Gemma against her will。 Gemma was kidnapped, and everything she loved was left behind because of Ty。 Towards the end of this book I definitely felt like I had Stockholm Syndrome too。 The same emotions Gemma was going through I was right there with her, and I suddenly felt myself being emotionally attached to Ty。 Ty- I understood everything he did was wrong, yet I felt so much empathy for him。 He was gentle and caring After finishing this book I truly don’t know how to feel。 I hated Ty for taking Gemma against her will。 Gemma was kidnapped, and everything she loved was left behind because of Ty。 Towards the end of this book I definitely felt like I had Stockholm Syndrome too。 The same emotions Gemma was going through I was right there with her, and I suddenly felt myself being emotionally attached to Ty。 Ty- I understood everything he did was wrong, yet I felt so much empathy for him。 He was gentle and caring, and even the angry Ty had a soft spot。 My brain didn’t actually want to process exactly he did, but kidnapping a girl doesn’t necessarily make you the hero of the story。 I felt something for Ty whether it’s trying to sympathize with is tragic past, or not it’s hard to consider him the villain。 Gemma- A 16 year old girl kidnapped to a desert in Australia。 While living in a completely different place she began to grew fond of it。 Gemma was a realistic girl, who’s whole life was completely turned upside down。 Lucy Christopher definitely messed with my head reading through Gemmas perspective because Ty was the only love interest, so naturally after everything I was rooting for them。 When trying to process everything, the book was over, just like that I was left there feeling every emotion。 。。。more

This book。 It was really interesting but made me feel super weird。 Since the story is told in a letter from the perspective of the kidnapped, we get to know all her feeling toward her captor and in return, we begin to feel those feelings as well。 Gemma started feeling sympathy toward her captor and as she did that I started feeling sympathy too。 It was so weird and off-putting。 I had to keep reminding myself that this guy is bad and I shouldn't be feeling sorry for him and rooting for him, like This book。 It was really interesting but made me feel super weird。 Since the story is told in a letter from the perspective of the kidnapped, we get to know all her feeling toward her captor and in return, we begin to feel those feelings as well。 Gemma started feeling sympathy toward her captor and as she did that I started feeling sympathy too。 It was so weird and off-putting。 I had to keep reminding myself that this guy is bad and I shouldn't be feeling sorry for him and rooting for him, like what is wrong with me?? It's so weird how you can know something is wrong but because the character is sympathizing and feeling a certain way you do too even though you know you shouldn't。Overall I loved this story because it kept me wanting more。 The entire time I was being drawn further and further into the story because I need to know more。 Like why was Gemma targeted and will she escape?? I am not an expert on what I'm about to say just something I heard about:after reading this novel I felt that Gemma had Stockholm syndrome and then I learned about something called Lima syndrome which is where the captor creates a positive bond with the victim and that can eventually lead to the captor caring so much that they don't want any harm to come to the victim and may eventually release them。 Think Beauty and the beast。 Belle didn't start having feelings for the beast until he formed a positive bond with her and started being nice to her and then released her。 That's apparently lima syndrome and not Stockholm syndrome。 Again I am no expert so I may be wrong but this is very interesting non the less。 Either way, Gemma was definitely having some positive response to her captor as the story went on and I began to feel that way too since I was inside Gemma's head。 。。。more

So like… I felt so strange for enjoying this book。 I don’t know I’m so confused。 Just the writing in this book alone was gorgeous and so meaningful with every sentence。 The characters, ty and Gemma, both had external and internal struggles that were tackled very well throughout the story。 I have no idea what else to say cause I was just totally wowed in the strangest way upon finishing this book。

That。。。 that was one hella weird read。On one hand you have this poor 16 year old girl who had a pretty shitty life ngl and then this older Australian dude who has some fucked up mental issues。。。 I just, I don't know who to blame at this point。I mean this dude literally kidnaps a girl and I mean I don't know about ya'll thirsty arse nutjobs but to me that was a But then this poor girl who's forced to live with this mad man (who's convinced himself he's in love with her) starts to understand him That。。。 that was one hella weird read。On one hand you have this poor 16 year old girl who had a pretty shitty life ngl and then this older Australian dude who has some fucked up mental issues。。。 I just, I don't know who to blame at this point。I mean this dude literally kidnaps a girl and I mean I don't know about ya'll thirsty arse nutjobs but to me that was a But then this poor girl who's forced to live with this mad man (who's convinced himself he's in love with her) starts to understand him and show a little, not even a lot like A LITTLE sympathy。。。 suddenly logic goes up in flames。 You know logic? Reason? Rationality? Yeah, I see none of that here。 This book explores such a complex theme such as stockholm syndrome in such a mature and effective way that even you yourself sometimes question the actions of the aussie and whether he's actually not a bad person (scary I know)。 It's has a very slow pace towards the middle of the book and Imma be real with ya'll, I almost DNF'd it。 That's a reason why I knocked off 2 stars, because I found it so tiring reading about her stuck in the same scenario over and over, overthinking the same thoughts again and again- man, I got kinda bored。The ending was a solid 7/10 where it's not that effective but it does have an impact。 The aussie ends up in jail and the girl is free yet burdened by her experience so the whole book is basically her unburdening herself and in the end you feel this amazing sense of closure and it just made the story feel so mature。 You can really feel Gemma (the girl) grow as a person and you feel her confusion and you feel her internal conflict。 Like I said, super weird stuff but it was an enjoyable experience because of how different it was to your average novel。 。。。more
