Summary

Priest has received a lot of hype on social media。 I will admit I was hesitant after hearing some of the reviews saying that this was the dirtiest kinky book they’ve read。 After reading (okay really I was listening, because I have Audible and a too busy schedule to sit down and actually read a book) this book I have two questions for those reviews…。。…………。。…………。。1。 Did we read the same book?2。 You call that the dirtiest most kinky book you’ve read?!?!Now don’t get me wrong…the story was amazingly Priest has received a lot of hype on social media。 I will admit I was hesitant after hearing some of the reviews saying that this was the dirtiest kinky book they’ve read。 After reading (okay really I was listening, because I have Audible and a too busy schedule to sit down and actually read a book) this book I have two questions for those reviews…。。…………。。…………。。1。 Did we read the same book?2。 You call that the dirtiest most kinky book you’ve read?!?!Now don’t get me wrong…the story was amazingly written。 Loved the different POV and the smut was hot and plenty。 It’s just not the dirtiest book I’ve read 😆That being said, the chemistry between the two main characters was very well portrayed。 I loved how the plot and the character’s background/development, discovering why they act and behave the way they do…was (in my opinion) evenly balanced with the sexy content。 It shared the spotlight and wasn’t placed on the back burner, or overshadowing the intimate adult content。 There was a true love story here and it was highly enjoyable。 Definitely one I will be purchasing a physical copy to put on my shelf。 。。。more

We all might need Jesus after reading this book Kind of entertaining though? Definitely digging the forbidden romance trope even though this was very taboo

Thank goodness this book is over。 This book was not for me。 The spicy scenes were 🥵。 Don’t get me wrong。 But it was insta love。 I wasn’t really fond of their relationship。 I only wanted to read the smut。 Also being someone who grew up catholic and then distanced herself from the religion。。。 I thought I’d be okay reading this but nope。 This was just wrong and so taboo lol。 Not for me。 I ended up skimming just to say that I finished this book。

I was excited to dive in to this book after hearing so many great things。 I will say I really did like it。 It was in fact very hot and steamy。 I loved the male main character Father Tyler Bell, he was just everything wonderful。 The main female character Poppy, I tried real hard to like, but she made some pretty stupid choices without any conversation with Tyler。 For someone feeling like she is and having the relationship she was, it didn't fit well with the story or her character frankly。 So sad I was excited to dive in to this book after hearing so many great things。 I will say I really did like it。 It was in fact very hot and steamy。 I loved the male main character Father Tyler Bell, he was just everything wonderful。 The main female character Poppy, I tried real hard to like, but she made some pretty stupid choices without any conversation with Tyler。 For someone feeling like she is and having the relationship she was, it didn't fit well with the story or her character frankly。 So sadly that really took away from the book for me。 I still liked it a lot, don't get me wrong。 Just not a fan of Poppy。 Narration on the audio was great!!! 。。。more

Unfortunately it was a DNF for me。 The dirty stuff? So good, so hot!!! But by 70% I started to struggle to stay interested, and by 80% I gave up。 I’m not a church goer, and I couldn’t stand all the comparisons of his love for her and his love for God。

So many things to say about this book。 Only finished it because I'm really trying to not be a quitter and to be a better reviewer。。。The hero is a priest, and the conflict was built-in, except it never materialized。 It was just sex scene after sex scene, and they were good but so weird when you started thinking about the hows and whys。。。 They had sex in the church, in the rectory, on the floor, in an alley(?), in a strip club。。。 The hero's sister was abused by a priest, and for some underdevelope So many things to say about this book。 Only finished it because I'm really trying to not be a quitter and to be a better reviewer。。。The hero is a priest, and the conflict was built-in, except it never materialized。 It was just sex scene after sex scene, and they were good but so weird when you started thinking about the hows and whys。。。 They had sex in the church, in the rectory, on the floor, in an alley(?), in a strip club。。。 The hero's sister was abused by a priest, and for some underdeveloped reason, her fuckboy brother decided to become a priest to be the change from the inside, (that's his whole backstory), and then he met a stripper who reminded him that he was still a fuckboy and then they fucked all over the place, maybe from three chapters in, but it's okay, God turned out to be cool with it。Zero actual conflict。 The hero worries about it a lot, but it doesn't affect his behavior in the slightest。 The heroine is also the worst。When she started with her overly graphic "sex worker confessions," I honestly thought it was going to be revealed that she was some kind of undercover agent trying to bait priests into engaging in misconduct as some kind of pervert test, but no。 It was all played straight。 And it was horrible。 She was just horrible。 She's supposedly the smartest person in the world because she has a finance degree from Dartmouth but, on the same hand, she was a stripper tangled up with a man who promised her fancy cars and expensive gifts。。。 We are told multiple times that she's a good person because she helped deliver babies in Haiti。。。。。。 but it's just so ugh。 I swear, half her personality is just "looking expensive。" There's a grand total of maybe three chapters from the heroine's POV, the entire book is just about the hero's constant lust, and the female narrator makes those three chapters just about the breathiest, moaning-est chapters ever narrated。But I finished it。Pros: despite the horrible plot, it's well written, prose-wise。 If it wasn't so frustratingly bad in all the other ways, it would have been an easy listen。 It's a horrible story that's written remarkably well。。。I'm almost thinking it was supposed to be a parody? Like, so bad it's good? There are a lot of positive reveiws, so I want to think "Priest at the strip club having sex with the stripper" was an intentional joke。 。。。more

Wow。 I genuinely have no words at how WELL WRITTEN the book was! I love books that delve into the Catholic religion。 It was refreshing to see how an author kept the main character true to his religion and love of God! Tyler and Poppy were the perfect balance of love and passion 💖

This book was actually pretty sad all things considered, but had a happy ending so it was okay。 A lot of the “scenes” just kind of made me uncomfortable and made me think “No way would anyone do that THERE” so I thought it was a little unrealistic。 Learned a lot about my own faith so that was interesting (😐) I myself haven’t gone to confess in years so maybe I should after reading this lmao。

2。5 🌟I started this book… as a joke。 I'm from the third biggest Catholic country in the world。 I was born a Catholic myself。。。 (I'm agnostic now btw) 。。。 and I studied the entirety of high school in a Catholic institution。。。So, was reading this weird for me? yes。 But did that stop me? absolutely not。 Though I will admit that there were a few instances in this book where I had to take a quick pause just to digest everything in because it's a little overwhelming。。。 overwhelmingly hot。 I know this 2。5 🌟I started this book… as a joke。 I'm from the third biggest Catholic country in the world。 I was born a Catholic myself。。。 (I'm agnostic now btw) 。。。 and I studied the entirety of high school in a Catholic institution。。。So, was reading this weird for me? yes。 But did that stop me? absolutely not。 Though I will admit that there were a few instances in this book where I had to take a quick pause just to digest everything in because it's a little overwhelming。。。 overwhelmingly hot。 I know this is all fiction and just for funsies because smut is a necessity to the survival of the human species but I honestly don't think I can step into a confession booth again。。。 let alone a church。 To wrap it all up, this book was entertaining and full of surprises。 Would I recommend it to people? It depends。Would I read it again? Maybe。 。。。more

What an unrealistic book。It made no sense whatsoever。 This priest was too self centered, oh my!It is clear that the author did no research on the rituals/ faith。Don’t get me wrong, I did not expect a religious book, ( it wasn’t the point, come on it’s a taboo plot。However, in the very least I expected there to have some real inner struggle, at times at war between his faith and temptation。I believe the real problem here is that it is in the first person being the priest’s voice。 His inner voice, What an unrealistic book。It made no sense whatsoever。 This priest was too self centered, oh my!It is clear that the author did no research on the rituals/ faith。Don’t get me wrong, I did not expect a religious book, ( it wasn’t the point, come on it’s a taboo plot。However, in the very least I expected there to have some real inner struggle, at times at war between his faith and temptation。I believe the real problem here is that it is in the first person being the priest’s voice。 His inner voice, running thoughts were so self centered and teenager like, not wise but simply a horny dog and by that it sounded more of a porn short story than of a novella。Yeah, it felt to phony for me。 BlahI read better and on a side note, the author states in the beginning that she respects the faith but I didn’t see that in the book, not at all。 So what’s the point, just to feel agreeable and good?! Honestly didn’t think I was going to like this。 I wasn’t sure considering the religion aspect of it and it’s something that is a sore spot。 But absolutely love the steamy scenes, the need for each other and the self sacrifice。

4。5 stars for this masterpieceOh I don´t know where to start。 This book started with so much mystery!Like there are very rare books which build the excitement from the first sentence and to be honest Sierra Simone was able to do that! There is Tyler, a priest, who became a priest with a reason。 And Poppy is a girl with a broken past。And her confession times are like everything。I loved their development。 I felt the heartbreak of Tyler and Poppy and i surely felt Tyler´s struggle。I personally read 4。5 stars for this masterpieceOh I don´t know where to start。 This book started with so much mystery!Like there are very rare books which build the excitement from the first sentence and to be honest Sierra Simone was able to do that! There is Tyler, a priest, who became a priest with a reason。 And Poppy is a girl with a broken past。And her confession times are like everything。I loved their development。 I felt the heartbreak of Tyler and Poppy and i surely felt Tyler´s struggle。I personally read every kind of book but if you don´t read really religious book then I wouldn´t recommend it。 。。。more

Wooowww, what a trash ending。。。💀Up until the last two chapters this was a solid 3 stars for me。 (view spoiler)[Not Poppy, cheating on Tyler literally right after she preached about how cheating is "not part of her character"。 Grown ass people intentionally creating misunderstandings just to evade confrontation is such a pet peeve of mine😒。 (hide spoiler)] Wooowww, what a trash ending。。。💀Up until the last two chapters this was a solid 3 stars for me。 (view spoiler)[Not Poppy, cheating on Tyler literally right after she preached about how cheating is "not part of her character"。 Grown ass people intentionally creating misunderstandings just to evade confrontation is such a pet peeve of mine😒。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more
