I'm not sure there was really much point to the book。。。。did someone learn a lesson? Probably not。 I'm not sure there was really much point to the book。。。。did someone learn a lesson? Probably not。 。。。more

Oh, Winnie the Witch, the masterpiece of children's books。 She always comes with ideas to solve the problem: a dragon trying to burn your house? Turn the flames into butterflies。 You always trip over your cat because you can’t see his black fur against the black interior? Make his fur turn green, yellow, red and purple! You don’t like your flying carpet? Make a hammock out of it!I love how she changes as the series progresses and how the topics are always different but are in the same style。 Chi Oh, Winnie the Witch, the masterpiece of children's books。 She always comes with ideas to solve the problem: a dragon trying to burn your house? I have no idea, but I’m all for it。(And don’t forget: when in trouble, always say Abracadabra (but keep in mind that everything can get even worse after that)) 。。。more

I still love this!So my mother read this to me almost 100 times when I was growing up and I still love it today! Black cats are amazing and I love the combination of witches, magic, cats and the super ninja hiding skills。 I still adore this book!

Fantastic reading! We are following the adventures of Winnie the Witch for a long time now, and she never disapoints us! Witty, funny, extraordinary!

Fun story, but it's the illustrations that really make it, stylishly rendered and chockful of detail。(Note: 5 stars = amazing, wonderful, 4 = very good book, 3 = decent read, 2 = disappointing, 1 = awful, just awful。 I'm fairly good at picking for myself so end up with a lot of 4s)。 I feel a lot of readers automatically render any book they enjoy 5, but I grade on a curve! I thought no book comes up to Dr Seuss's, and while this one is entirely different it had the similar wow effect on me。A simple story that is unique and makes sense。 Thanks God for VT!(I already read the pumpkin one before this book, and that one also left me in awe。) I thought no book comes up to Dr Seuss's, and while this one is entirely different it had the similar wow effect on me。A simple story that is unique and makes sense。 Thanks God for VT!(I already read the pumpkin one before this book, and that one also left me in awe。) 。。。more

The main theme throughout this book is problem solving。 This is shown through Winnie not being able to see her black cat in her black house, which causes her all sorts of problems。 To solve the problem she tries to fix it with magic spells。 I would say this book is suitable for KS1 students。 It is very picture heavy, however it does contain some relatively challenging words to develop the children’s reading。 I would recommend this book to young children and it is a funny story with engaging pict The main theme throughout this book is problem solving。 This is shown through Winnie not being able to see her black cat in her black house, which causes her all sorts of problems。 To solve the problem she tries to fix it with magic spells。 I would say this book is suitable for KS1 students。 It is very picture heavy, however it does contain some relatively challenging words to develop the children’s reading。 I would recommend this book to young children and it is a funny story with engaging pictures。 。。。more

This text is ideal for EYFS/KS1。 Having been fortunate to have met the illustrator Korky Paul during Serial Days, his bold and fun character illustrations provide an opportunity to engage in the Art curriculum as well as writing opportunities。 I’d love to arrange a visit to a class in Oxfordshire if I do end up teaching in the county!

The illustrations were silly and well detailed, really fun to look at。 This book shows that changing something to fit what you want doesn’t always work in your favor。 A truly enjoyable read for all young adolescents。

Wilbur is a black cat that lives with Winnie the witch in a black house。 But Wilbur is hard to see。 He gets sat on and tripped over。 Winnie uses her powers to change Wilbur’s colors。 But will it work? To find out read the book。 It was a fun read, and while it’s hard to articulate why, I think most readers will understand why this book isn’t super popular。 It’s missing something…。。

Priya Gopal

I love both the story and the illustrations which are quirky, playful, and detailed。
