I hate multiple narratives。 I've definitely mentioned that before， but I feel like it needs to be stated again。 It's difficult to pull off and most of the time the characters sound exactly the same， sometimes it can take me a page or two to even realize I'm reading from a different person's perspective because they all sound the same！ Sure they have some differing thoughts， but their thought processes and style are too similar， it's just a poor attempt to fill in some plot points - do it right， I hate multiple narratives。 I've definitely mentioned that before， but I feel like it needs to be stated again。 It's difficult to pull off and most of the time the characters sound exactly the same， sometimes it can take me a page or two to even realize I'm reading from a different person's perspective because they all sound the same！ Sure they have some differing thoughts， but their thought processes and style are too similar， it's just a poor attempt to fill in some plot points - do it right， keep one person's POV and feed us that missing info as a hook that draws us farther in the story！ Speaking of story， this one is weak - the plot hardly holds up - there is so much "luck" involved - and why do these people who are supposed to have been brought up in restrictive environments know so much random shit？ This book is held together by way too much book magic/coincidence。 。。。more

Crossed was a great sequel to Matched。 The story was so different as Ky and Cassia both travel on equaling challenging journeys to find each other and The Rising。 New characters are introduced which I found enjoyable as the story would have probably been a bit dry without。 I suggest purchasing the third book before finishing this one as it does leave you on a cliff hanger。

Boring and dull。 I had to skim many pages。 The action only picked up later in the book and even then I was still underwhelmed。 Cassia and Ky are such bland characters as well。 Hopefully book 3 will be a little better :p

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 （SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER）I thought this sequel was good。 It was a worthy sequel that heightened the plot and made things bigger。 It reminded me of Scorch Trials， in that they "crossed" these canyons and deserts。 I was expecting that Xander gave Cassia the blue tablets to poison her purposely， but I guess not？ I mean， maybe， who knows。 If not that， I was also expecting Ky to betray her in some way， since the title is Crossed and that someone would cross her。 Neither happened， and a heart attack was （SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER）I thought this sequel was good。 It was a worthy sequel that heightened the plot and made things bigger。 It reminded me of Scorch Trials， in that they "crossed" these canyons and deserts。 I was expecting that Xander gave Cassia the blue tablets to poison her purposely， but I guess not？ I mean， maybe， who knows。 If not that， I was also expecting Ky to betray her in some way， since the title is Crossed and that someone would cross her。 Neither happened， and a heart attack was evaded。 Well， the latter sort of happened since they split off at the end。 Also， Indie falling for Xander was kind of weird。 But also retells the whole intricacies and complexities of love in that she fell for him without ever meeting him， and that's kind of beautiful。 I hope Indie doesn't betray me because I kind of like her。 Ky's confusing me。 First， he doesn't want to follow Cassia to the Rising because of his trauma with his parents， that they didn't save them， but also doesn't want to be part of the Society because of obvious reasons。 He just wants to stay in the middle as "farmers。" Reasonable， but he lies， evades， doesn't share his thoughts， his life， with Cassia。 Meanwhile， Cassia wants to be part of the Rising because of her mission from her Grandfather， her love for poetry and creation， and for Ky。 Does Cassia even lose Ky？ Surely yes， but。。 she loves Xander， too。 Ky eventually succumb to his devotion to Cassia and chooses the Rising， but the Rising is sussing me out。 So the gang climbs hills and valleys risks their lives to enter this secret rebellion， only to get sorted into jobs again？ Wasn't that what they were doing in the first place？ What exactly is the Rising？ What is Xander thinking and what's he doing？ Where is Cassia's family？ Will I see Indie again？ Will I see Hunter and Eli again？ Where did they go again？ The plains？ Can I trust the Rising？ Who is Cassia going to meet， Xander or Ky？ What's up with the Match， aren't Cassia and Xander technically married？ How did they all get good jobs when they've all broken at least a dozen crimes each？ What if this is all a huge extended ploy by the Society， including the idea of the Rising？ Is Cassia immune to the red tablet？ 。。。more

Oh my goodness this was the most dull and pointless sequel ever。 Interesting things only happened at the very end and a couple of points throughout， overall this could have been cut in half and probably added to another book because it was total drudgery。 Plus the author trying to get deep about random stuff for no apparent reason。 Cringe。

I listened to this today and I already can’t remember any significant action happening。 I think you could probably skip this book and not be lost at the beginning of the next one。 I do like that new characters were introduced， though， and it is kind of nice that the scope of this world doesn’t feel too broad。

I was intrigued to read into more of the story about matched。 I wanted to see what was outside the society control。 Now we know there is now - society， enemy， uprising and the farmers。 The book starts with going to Ky and Cassia， showing their current situation。 Both being in other provinces in different situations。 When Cassia gets a chance to jump on a ship to where Ky was placed。 The second book is Ky wanting to get safe from the enemy lines and Cassia also trying to find Ky。 Along the way bo I was intrigued to read into more of the story about matched。 I wanted to see what was outside the society control。 Now we know there is now - society， enemy， uprising and the farmers。 The book starts with going to Ky and Cassia， showing their current situation。 Both being in other provinces in different situations。 When Cassia gets a chance to jump on a ship to where Ky was placed。 The second book is Ky wanting to get safe from the enemy lines and Cassia also trying to find Ky。 Along the way both parties find friendships and information along the way。Ky meets Eli on his journey who reminds him on Cassia’s brother Bram。 With Eli being so young he suggested for him to leave with him。 Then there was Hunter who was in the outer provinces。 He became a great help and friend to Ky。 Cassia becomes friends with another too。 These characters sure will become part of the big story。 。。。more
