Summary

Gabimaru is a ninja on death row with one chance to see his wife again—by finding the elixir of immortality on a supernatural island and delivering it to the shogun。 Standing in his way are his fellow convicts and the fearsome beasts that roam the island, devouring or killing anyone they encounter。 As Gabimaru and his executioner explore the island, they come under attack from creatures that resemble gods but behave like devils。 Is this the holy land or hell itself?

I really like Sagiri and her character development has been intersting。 I like the art and the fight scenes are good。 The plot is not the most original, but I do like the characters。

Fabio

Sempre su altissimi livelli, come il primo volume。

Very much enjoying this series so far。 This second volume is just as good as the first, but possibly even better because we get to properly meet Gabimaru’s criminal competitors, aswell as get a little more insight on the strange monsters, statutes, and bugs。 I love the fashion reviews and the covers of these manga are phenomenal!! I heard an anime adaption is coming and I’m so excited to see what comes of it !!

This was a good second volume。 I liked seeing how both our main characters Gabimaru and Sagiri are growing as characters as individuals and as partners who realize both of their survivals depend on one another。 Plus, we continue to grow the backstory of the other characters on the island。 There was a little repetativeness in parts of the dialouge my I like how the tension slowly continues to build till the point when I imagine all these characters are going to meet up especially with Gabimaru。 A This was a good second volume。 I liked seeing how both our main characters Gabimaru and Sagiri are growing as characters as individuals and as partners who realize both of their survivals depend on one another。 Plus, we continue to grow the backstory of the other characters on the island。 There was a little repetativeness in parts of the dialouge my I like how the tension slowly continues to build till the point when I imagine all these characters are going to meet up especially with Gabimaru。 As well as cotinuing to discover the history and what lives among this island。 Still very much enjoying this manga。 。。。more

Hell's Paradise continues to be weird, strange, very violent, and yet I can't stop reading。 While maybe not as good as volume 1 the high energy this manga gives off is undeniable。 The vicious fights both our Ninja/Samurai warrior have to go through to survive is great。 Not to mention the sad but solid ending to a foe who might not have been so bad despite his actions。 We also see a little "fuck you this is my own destiny" here。 Though I have a feeling if this was in a marvel comic people would b Hell's Paradise continues to be weird, strange, very violent, and yet I can't stop reading。 While maybe not as good as volume 1 the high energy this manga gives off is undeniable。 The vicious fights both our Ninja/Samurai warrior have to go through to survive is great。 Not to mention the sad but solid ending to a foe who might not have been so bad despite his actions。 We also see a little "fuck you this is my own destiny" here。 Though I have a feeling if this was in a marvel comic people would be claiming this writer is SJW for putting in the fact a Woman stands up to a man for telling her she's nothing more than a woman and her destiny is to breed and not fight。 But you know, the online is filled with losers anyway。 Still this is a fun volume with brutal fights and plenty of plot progression for other characters。 Even a psycho pair of twins。 I'm excited to see where we go next。 。。。more

3,5/5。 A lot slower and less intriguing then the first volume。 The action is still good, but the many characters and backgrounds to their story slow down the main storyline and it seem to have take a different style a bit, a bit younger I might say。 I'm still interest, but a lot less curious。 Let's pick one or two more volume and see how it goes from here! 。。。more

Things I liked:1。 Gabimaru and Sagiri being badasses。 Because I love my main characters being badasses。2。 Sagiri growing as a character and executioner。 Her effectively telling Genji, "nope, I'mma be a samurai whether you like it or not, fuck off," was awesome and her finding her own style as dope。3。 Yuzuriha being a delightful little murderer。 I love how she comes off as super ditzy and cutesy, but she's really sharp, has great observational skills, and can kill on her own if need be。 Doesn't g Things I liked:1。 Gabimaru and Sagiri being badasses。 Because I love my main characters being badasses。2。 Sagiri growing as a character and executioner。 Her effectively telling Genji, "nope, I'mma be a samurai whether you like it or not, fuck off," was awesome and her finding her own style as dope。3。 Yuzuriha being a delightful little murderer。 I love how she comes off as super ditzy and cutesy, but she's really sharp, has great observational skills, and can kill on her own if need be。 Doesn't get a lot of action, but she's far from weak。4。 Gabimaru not tolerating Yuzuriha's flirtations and taking her down each time she tries。 Loved it。5。 Tenza's and Nurugai's introduction。 Love the continuing commentary of "people are sentenced to death because they go against ruler"。 Definitely looking forward to seeing more of them。6。 Chobe's and Toma's introductions。 LOVE these two, ESPECIALLY Chobe。 His design is cool and his strength is incredible。 DEFINITELY can't wait to see more of them!Things I Didn't Like:1。 Tenza constantly stating how stupid samurai are。 Yes, I understand what he's saying and why, but the repetition wore on me after awhile。2。 Rokurota trying to be "redeemed" when killed a la Demon Slayer style。 The reason why it works in Demon Slayer is because SOME of the demons did terrible things, but were shown to have positive and even loving sides related to their time as humans。 Rokurota is literally a man child who wants to eat and play and kills people in pursuit of both, and somehow I'm supposed to feel sorry that he died? Sorry, but no。 Try a little harder next time, Hell's Paradise。Anyway, this was a solid second volume。 Had a blast reading it, looking forward to more。 。。。more

Definitely hoping this series stays this solid。 I'm enjoying the mystery of the island, as well as the creepy imagery that permeates it。 The main characters are pretty good as well and the fact that they are getting hurt and hitting limits makes me pretty happy since they have to think and not just brute strength everything。 Definitely hoping this series stays this solid。 I'm enjoying the mystery of the island, as well as the creepy imagery that permeates it。 The main characters are pretty good as well and the fact that they are getting hurt and hitting limits makes me pretty happy since they have to think and not just brute strength everything。 。。。more

On par with v。1The story and action sequences are fun。 The art for the most part is great。 Some character’s gender is impossible to make out until it’s spelled out。 Fun monster book, closer in tone to Image’s Manifest Destiny than it is to Blade of the Immortal。

Here, Gabimaru is still amazing in almost everything he does, but Sagiri steals his thunder on this one。 And I'm not even mad about it。You see, when you have a co-protagonist steal the spotlight from the character we started with, this one must be interesting or rather on par with the previously mentioned character。 Not only Sagiri fills that role perfectly, but it also allowed both of them to grow as well; Sagiri ditches several of the inferiority layers we could see since the previous volume, Here, Gabimaru is still amazing in almost everything he does, but Sagiri steals his thunder on this one。 And I'm not even mad about it。You see, when you have a co-protagonist steal the spotlight from the character we started with, this one must be interesting or rather on par with the previously mentioned character。 Not only Sagiri fills that role perfectly, but it also allowed both of them to grow as well; Sagiri ditches several of the inferiority layers we could see since the previous volume, and when it's time for her to step up in combat, it leaves you baffled at how incredible and strong her character is。She doesn't leave her humanity behind, nor the author attempts to make things "easy" for her just to be on par with Gabimaru。 Everything she does is due to her own will, courage, merit, and abilities we knew she possessed but that she didn't use。 If you think about it, no other character thus far (except for his piece of trash master) has been able to be on par with Gabimaru except for her, which in retrospect is brilliant because it established the strength and tenacity of Sagiri since the beginning and what she was capable of。 You know, I've been waiting to read a GREATLY WRITTEN female character for a while now, and I'm glad I found it in Sagiri。 Props to the author for knowing how to write female characters。Also, I love how the narrative keeps giving twist after twist。 When you think you figured out something about the world or characters, something else is revealed that surprises you and your entire perception of how the story is going to unfold。 Loving this series so far。 。。。more

Wow, WOW。 I liked the first volume but the second volume really has me hooked! There’s some great story lines here and I loved seeing the different characters that are introduced。 I really adore Sagiri, especially in this volume, I’m definitely getting the third volume!

I’m in love with Sagiri and if Gabi didn’t love his wife so much I’d ship the hell out of the two of them。

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 Volume 2 follows the story of Gabimaru as he continues to search for the elixir of life while battling other ninjas for the right to a pardon of his crimes。 Once again, lots of action, and I love to see the way that the ninjas interact with each other。 I particularly love Sagiri。

I'm really loving Hell's Paradise so far! Volume two introduced us to quite a few new characters criminals and handlers so far my new favorites are the Aza Brothers Bandits。 The only issue I have with the series is that they keep saying that only one criminal can receive a pardon so they need to quit bringing in more characters for me to get attached to!
