Summary

Everyone loves a good fable, and this is certainly one。 The protagonist is Julian Mantle, a high-profile attorney with a whacked-out schedule and a shameful set of spiritual priorities。 Of course it takes a crisis (heart attack) to give Mantle pause。 And pause he does--suddenly selling all his beloved possessions to trek India in pursuit of a meaningful existence。 The Himalayan gurus along the way give simple advice, such as, "What lies behind you and what lies before you is nothing compared to what lies within you。" Yet it is easy to forgive the story's simplicity because each kernel of wisdom is framed to address the persistent angst of Western white-collar professionals。

After reading this book, one can understand how to balance personal and professional life。 Best book I ever read。

I found this irritating beyond belief。 Not dismissing the principles, etc, within, just the patronising bollocks it was served up with。

This book teaches us that inner peace is way more important than the materialistic things。

Yes。。。this book is totally corny。 The conversing back and forth is not very believable and made me chuckle。 BUT。 The truth in this book completely overrides the corny。 I found such peace in these pages and I truly do feel like it gave me some great knowledge that will change my life。 This is a book to read again and again over the years, as you will get something different out of it every time。

I absolutely loved it。 Such an easy and simple read。 Every page is filled to the brim with wisdom。 A must read and definitely a re-read。

"The monk who sold his Ferrari" is a very mediocre book。 It is filled with positivity and motivation。 And there is plenty of wisdom in the book。 It's basically a beginner's insight into spiritual development。 I loved the message, I just didn't like the format it was presented in。 The book seem even ridiculous at times。 The "story" is essentially just 2 guys talking over dinner, actually only 1 guy talking, the other guy is just there to ask the questions in between the long monologues and to con "The monk who sold his Ferrari" is a very mediocre book。 It is filled with positivity and motivation。 And there is plenty of wisdom in the book。 It's basically a beginner's insight into spiritual development。 I loved the message, I just didn't like the format it was presented in。 The book seem even ridiculous at times。 The "story" is essentially just 2 guys talking over dinner, actually only 1 guy talking, the other guy is just there to ask the questions in between the long monologues and to confirm the Monk's answers。 I felt the listener of the story was pretty naive, he seemed to just take everything his friend said without question。 When I have reached almost the end of the book and I got really boredBut aside from that, the message it provides is actually quite useful。 So overall I did not like the format - it was too basic for me, but I do support the information and think this is a great entry point for anyone who want to start reading self development books。 Something to think about:1) It’s only when you have mastered the art of loving yourself that you can truly love others。 It’s only when you have opened your own heart you can touch the hearts of others。 When you feel centered and alive, you are in a much better position to be a better person 2) Stop acting like you have five hundred years to live 3) Failing to plan is planning to fail 4) It’s not what you will get out of books that is no enriching – it is what the books will get out of you will ultimately change your life 5) No man is free who is not a master of himself6) When you form the habit of searching for the positive is every circumstance, your life will move into it’s highest dimensions 。。。more

A monk who tells about improving living lifestyle continuosly for 12+ hours, is what this book is all about。Well I agree, every 7 points that mentioned in the books are worth of golds unless we start following them in our life's。However I get kind of bored on reading continuos giving lectures of motivation by the monk。 A monk who tells about improving living lifestyle continuosly for 12+ hours, is what this book is all about。Well I agree, every 7 points that mentioned in the books are worth of golds unless we start following them in our life's。However I get kind of bored on reading continuos giving lectures of motivation by the monk。 。。。more

My impressions overall, that is easy to read and understand the concepts, principles and technique of what writer is explaining。 I didn’t try this techniques, but I believe we can change our thinking process for better and establish healthier thinking。 I have only one problem with all this techniques: when you add app the time to accomplish every technique + every day to do all again, too much time is consumed。 I will try some of them and we will see!!! :)

We should all value our lives and be kind always。 These are some of the basic prescriptions for a good life。 Meditation, mantras and following your dreams are all embedded in this story。 The message was good but the story was sometimes annoying

This is a self-help book。 It contains all of the things that you would expect from a self-help book。 How the ideas are presented here changes a little bit, but they're still the same ideas。 This book heavily borrows from other authors and people, such as Napoleon Hill and other self-help "gurus"。 Julian, the monk in the story, even says a few quotes that are clearly not his own, maybe changes a word or two and claims them to be his。 I know you're supposed to see Julian as an awakened man, but I This is a self-help book。 It contains all of the things that you would expect from a self-help book。 How the ideas are presented here changes a little bit, but they're still the same ideas。 This book heavily borrows from other authors and people, such as Napoleon Hill and other self-help "gurus"。 Julian, the monk in the story, even says a few quotes that are clearly not his own, maybe changes a word or two and claims them to be his。 I know you're supposed to see Julian as an awakened man, but I just saw him as a guy insanely full of himself, even if his advice is usually solid。 Current evidence shows that sleeping less than 7 hours can lead to a bunch of unwanted problems, but Julian says you can get away with 6。 This is potentially dangerous advice。 All in all, this book was OK, I did not hate it, but I just think there are better self-help books if that's what you're looking for。 Would not recommend。 。。。more

this is probably a nice read if you've never read anything from the world of self-help/self-improvement, have never heard of meditation or mindfulness, have never heard anyone mention the concept of purpose。 otherwise, the book reads like a shallow overview of "the top xy techniques for a more fulfilled life"。 and if you're struggling with a mood disorder or are dealing with intrusive thoughts for whatever reason, some parts can actually be very triggering。 I was going to give it an even lower r this is probably a nice read if you've never read anything from the world of self-help/self-improvement, have never heard of meditation or mindfulness, have never heard anyone mention the concept of purpose。 otherwise, the book reads like a shallow overview of "the top xy techniques for a more fulfilled life"。 and if you're struggling with a mood disorder or are dealing with intrusive thoughts for whatever reason, some parts can actually be very triggering。 I was going to give it an even lower rating, but getting closer to the end, I really did appreciate the chapter on finding meaning in serving others。 。。。more

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - Robin Sharma。 The book is nothing but a midnight preaching of a Public litigator (JULIAN MANTLE) turned monk about his travel to the east。 He attempts to share his lyceum of thoughts with his friend to help him to achieve a great life。 This ain't a kid's show, this will seem a hard blow for those busy entrepreneurs and workers。 The Paradigm was completely readable and I appreciate Robin Sharma for his simplicity in words and versity in thoughts。 Though the story The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - Robin Sharma。 The book is nothing but a midnight preaching of a Public litigator (JULIAN MANTLE) turned monk about his travel to the east。 He attempts to share his lyceum of thoughts with his friend to help him to achieve a great life。 This ain't a kid's show, this will seem a hard blow for those busy entrepreneurs and workers。 The Paradigm was completely readable and I appreciate Robin Sharma for his simplicity in words and versity in thoughts。 Though the story seems narrative, he gently filled it with more inspiring descriptive lines。 The book starts naive yet fired up on course of time with the preachings of the Sages from Sivana。 Running behind money ain't a life, it's something that is deeper to unravel。 We humans have a great potential hidden within us。 Wise people on the planet are no one but the men's and women's who found the ultimate Key to unlock their potentials。 The Monk Who sold his Ferrari unlocks myths and fantasies which prevent us to reach such fiery potential。 And I particularly love the preachings of Yogi Raman ( Julian's teacher in the east) about the TEN RADIANT RITUALS OF LIVING and his Mystical fable which runs throughout the book。 To sum up, The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari is a book with compilation of thoughts that one can implement in their own lives to step into the realm of EXTRAORDINARY from Ordinary。 A must read self help book for timeless workers。 Quotable quotes:"She told me that the best time to plant a tree was forty years ago。 The second best time is today。 Don't waste even one minute of your day。 Develop a death bed mentality"。" A day without laughter or a day without love was a day without life""What lies behind you and what lies in front of you is nothing when compared to what lies within you" 。。。more

"Everything is created twice, first in the mind and then in reality。"The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is an international bestseller by Robin Sharma。 It depicts the story of Julian Mantle, a brilliant lawyer who achieved superstar status and lives a great life。 But after an incident in a courtroom, Julian's lives changes forever。 He decides to sell his Ferrari and most of his valuable things and embark on a journey to the Himalayas mountain。 From the Great Sages of Sivana who lives there, an amazin "Everything is created twice, first in the mind and then in reality。"The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is an international bestseller by Robin Sharma。 It depicts the story of Julian Mantle, a brilliant lawyer who achieved superstar status and lives a great life。 But after an incident in a courtroom, Julian's lives changes forever。 He decides to sell his Ferrari and most of his valuable things and embark on a journey to the Himalayas mountain。 From the Great Sages of Sivana who lives there, an amazing transformation happened to him。 Since the first time I saw this book, it captures my attention。 Especially the titles which are a little unique to me。 I thought it is just an ordinary fiction book but after I started to explore it, it teaches me something important about life。 It also provides a new perspective on the definition of success and achievement。 I realized that this book gives a reflection on the real purpose of life。 Consisted of 17 chapters and it started with dramatic events that happened to Julian Mantle and the transformation that occur after that。 I love how the author describes the events from another character's point of view which is at the same place as Julian。 The character that I mentioned is John which is his protege and friend。 I can say that this book is full of valuable treasures and gems that useful on how to live your life to the fullest。 Few things that I learn from it are how to use your imagination and liberates it for your own potential。 In order to achieve something that had been desired, the role of the mind cannot be seen in one eye only。 Then it is important to follow your purpose。 Another important thing to ponder is the implementation of constant and never-ending improvement。 The Japanese people called it Kaizen and it is the main secret of theirs successful development。 With Kaizen, Japan emerges as one of the cultural and economic powerhouses on the global stage。 From the Sages of Sivana and the Japanese people, I realized that Kaizen is an important element in order to improve ourselves。 Besides that, despite Julian Mantle's drastic transformation, he never forgets John which his friend that I mentioned earlier。 John is the first person that he wants to see and shares the valuable gems that he had learned from the Great Sages of Sivanna。 I can say that their friendship becomes more meaningful after that。 In the millennium era, the value of friendship and altruism seems to lose its value a little bit and slowly replaced by individualistic lifestyles。 Not all but mostly。 Equilibrium in most aspects of life also is another thing that I realized from this book。 Even if we are successful in our career but in another aspect, someone had failed, it does not meet the true definition of success。 Sooner or later, it will lead them into the river of disappointment or worse can leads to their destruction of ourselves。 This can be seen when Julian recalls back his life before his magical transformation。 In conclusion, if you are interested in Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist or Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich style, this book is highly recommended。 Clear messages and beautifully written, this book will open your mind to the definition of life purpose。 It can serve as guidance on how to live life to the fullest and at the same time become successful in life。 Because of that, it deserves my 5-star。 Grab a copy now and get ready to learn the valuables treasures brought for you from the Sages of Sivana! 。。。more

A wholesome easy-read。 I love the metaphors on the mind—as a muscle that needs stretching, and as a garden that needs tending。 Not too radical at this time, but a good friendly reminder whenever existential crises arise from time to time。
