I was recommended this by my counselor during our last session。 I listened to the audio version, which is her teachings during a conference。 I really enjoyed it。 I loved hearing the audience reactions to different points she made and the way she explains different topics, like forgiveness and trust as it relates to the mind。 I took down some nuggets of wisdom I’ll be mediating for some time。 I would definitely recommend this if you also struggle with your thoughts。

There are a lot of opinions in this book that she doesn't properly back up with scripture。 I can understand the point and what she's trying to say but I think this book is overrated。 There are a lot of opinions in this book that she doesn't properly back up with scripture。 I can understand the point and what she's trying to say but I think this book is overrated。 。。。more

I’ve mentally added this book to my “must reread every few years” book list。 I picked up the book with the idea that I would learn how to conquer my anxiety but ended up learning so many other things on top of that。 This book is good for every believer in any situation because all of our trials almost always begin with a battle in our minds - relationship problems, work problems, faith problems, etc。 If you are dealing with any kind of struggle at all (which most of us are almost always going th I’ve mentally added this book to my “must reread every few years” book list。 I picked up the book with the idea that I would learn how to conquer my anxiety but ended up learning so many other things on top of that。 This book is good for every believer in any situation because all of our trials almost always begin with a battle in our minds - relationship problems, work problems, faith problems, etc。 If you are dealing with any kind of struggle at all (which most of us are almost always going through something at any given time) this book will help you conquer your mind and get you through it。 。。。more

This is an amazing book。 I learned so much about the mind and how the devil does every thing he can to get my mind。 The way Joyce teaches the scripture that allows you to understand how to win the battle going on up there。 The scriptures and thinking on purpose that God loves me and has won the war so all I need to do is trust Him。

I have this book on my bookshelf and always revisit it every so often over the years。Joyce provides some simple strategies on how to use the tools we have within us to change our thought patterns and patterns of behaviour。I have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions and varying thought patterns over the years and Joyce's reassuring words guided me through some of the toughest challenges in my life。 I had to relearn my thought patterns and behaviours and have addressed the areas of my life that I have this book on my bookshelf and always revisit it every so often over the years。Joyce provides some simple strategies on how to use the tools we have within us to change our thought patterns and patterns of behaviour。I have experienced a rollercoaster of emotions and varying thought patterns over the years and Joyce's reassuring words guided me through some of the toughest challenges in my life。 I had to relearn my thought patterns and behaviours and have addressed the areas of my life that needed attention。 Coupled with prayer and the Word, Joyce makes this an easy read worth revisiting again and again。 。。。more

God’s Word is powerful and should always be used to back up anything we believe or do。 This author believes almost the same as I do。 The mind is where you are hit。 Before you do anything, you think it in your mind first。

Joyce Meyer is inspirational。 This book is a game changer。 Whether religious or not。

As a disclaimer, I needed to listen to this audio book for a class, otherwise I wouldn't have finished it。 The audio book that I listened to was 4 or 5 sermons from Joyce on this subject put together。 I'm not sure how different the actual book is, but I wasn't a fan of the sermons。The subject she was addressing (how important your thoughts are) is extremely important for people to understand, but I wasn't a fan of how she dealt with it。 I will never understand Christian preachers/teachers who fe As a disclaimer, I needed to listen to this audio book for a class, otherwise I wouldn't have finished it。 The audio book that I listened to was 4 or 5 sermons from Joyce on this subject put together。 I'm not sure how different the actual book is, but I wasn't a fan of the sermons。The subject she was addressing (how important your thoughts are) is extremely important for people to understand, but I wasn't a fan of how she dealt with it。 I will never understand Christian preachers/teachers who feel the need to use guilt and shame to hit you over the head to try and motivate you。 I, personally, have found that teachers who encourage and inspire me to change are much more successful。 I have learned the principles she was attempting to teach from others who went about it much differently。 。。。more

As a serial over-thinker this book changed my life。 I’m grateful it was recommended to me and I’m more grateful that I read it as my first book of 2021。 I’ll be approaching things different this year and not let my mind control and detect my destiny。

Read this with a book club at church。 The topic is very relevant but the language can be difficult and the anecdotes somewhat outdated。 Definitely one to read with a group as a good stimulus to spark discussion!
