The classic movie "Singing In The Rain" was a staple in my home growing up。 Discovering this joyful, fun, energetic picture book taking was truly like revisiting a wonderful part of my childhood。 It takes the lyrics from this song and pairs them with bright, fun illustrations。 Together with my 2 youngest children, we played the song from the movie and sung the book, and had a great time reading it together! A charming book illustrating the famous song。 I love how Tim Hopgood shares in the back of the book that he wanted people to find the joy in rain。 In the pacific northwest we get a lot of rain and it was fun to celebrate the joy of it with my Storytime kiddos。

This book is based on the song from the musical "Singing in the Rain"。 It brings the song to life with bright beautiful pictures of children frolicking in the rain。 The lyrics are written on the pages with the pictures so everyone can sing along while viewing the book。 It is a great way to incorporate both reading and song into the classroom。 The song itself is quite uplifting, but the illustration adds a good amount of cheer and I think would help inspire the kids to sing along。 Quite uplifting This book is based on the song from the musical "Singing in the Rain"。 It brings the song to life with bright beautiful pictures of children frolicking in the rain。 The lyrics are written on the pages with the pictures so everyone can sing along while viewing the book。 It is a great way to incorporate both reading and song into the classroom。 The song itself is quite uplifting, but the illustration adds a good amount of cheer and I think would help inspire the kids to sing along。 Quite uplifting and perfect for a rainy day。 The most obvious way to incorporate this book into the classroom would be to sing it together。 Another way would be to listen to it sung by someone else while viewing the pages together。 I think it would be most appropriate for K-1 readers。 。。。more

1。 CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards Nominee for Sing (2018)2。 Prek-23。 This book is a rendition of the popular song "singing in the rain"。 The book puts the reader in the position of walking around and singing in the rain making the best of it that they can and observing the things around them。4。 As an adult I thought that this book was boring。 However, I think that children would enjoy this book as they can sing along and the illustrations are very engaging as well。 5。 A good use of this book in t 1。 CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards Nominee for Sing (2018)2。 Prek-23。 This book is a rendition of the popular song "singing in the rain"。 The book puts the reader in the position of walking around and singing in the rain making the best of it that they can and observing the things around them。4。 As an adult I thought that this book was boring。 However, I think that children would enjoy this book as they can sing along and the illustrations are very engaging as well。 5。 A good use of this book in the classroom is to use it in a lesson about emotion and feelings。 This book discusses the reader's feelings toward the rain and making the best of it。 The teacher could start a lesson about emotion and teach the children that life is what you make it and how you react。 The children could be asked to read the book and point out different situations where the character had a positive outlook when they could have acted differently。 。。。more

Lovely illustrations, definitely respectful of the tone and sentiment in the song。 The song itself is repetitive, but that's fine。 Lovely illustrations, definitely respectful of the tone and sentiment in the song。 The song itself is repetitive, but that's fine。 。。。more

Tribute to one of the best musicals with lovely artwork and the song stuck in your head。

The lyrics to the song ‘Singing in the Rain’ set to artwork。 The artwork does take some from the famous musical。 It’s one of the greatest scenes ever, I think。 Then, the children with umbrellas take to the sky like Mary Poppins and end up in a rainforest dancing with alligators and other wildlife。 This celebrates the joy of playing in the rain。 Tim Hopgood wants to remind adults too the simple joy of playing in the rain instead of it being a nuisance。 Dynamic artwork。 I love the splashes of colo The lyrics to the song ‘Singing in the Rain’ set to artwork。 The artwork does take some from the famous musical。 It’s one of the greatest scenes ever, I think。 Then, the children with umbrellas take to the sky like Mary Poppins and end up in a rainforest dancing with alligators and other wildlife。 This celebrates the joy of playing in the rain。 Tim Hopgood wants to remind adults too the simple joy of playing in the rain instead of it being a nuisance。 Dynamic artwork。 I love the splashes of color in the umbrellas and children’s slickers。 The kids are a rainbow of colors and the rain evokes moods with each picture。 Children do spin around a lamppost。 Our family, me my brother and sister-in-law are big musical geeks and so we all sat around singing this after dinner one night while the niece and nephew turned the pages looking at the pictures。 The nephew said that Michael Jackson is better and could do it better and the niece knew enough to join in with us at times。 This was a fun family book。 Niece gave it 4 stars and Nephew gave it 3 stars。 。。。more

Love this song。。。who doesn't love this song。 And the vibrant illustrations are fun。。。until they go flying into the air to a jungle。 That was a bit weird and made the book feel padded。 Love this song。。。who doesn't love this song。 And the vibrant illustrations are fun。。。until they go flying into the air to a jungle。 That was a bit weird and made the book feel padded。 。。。more
