I liked cooking from this book。 Many easy-to-veganize recipes。 Much more straight-forward and simpler than Gordon's other cookbooks。 Seeing his range of recipes from one book to another was nice。 My favourite part about it is that it's arranged by categories: 'Healthy' - each recipe in this section has no more than a small amount of saturated fat, sugar and salt。 'Lean' - recipes for those wanting to eat less rich foods, and 'Fit' - with calorically-dense recipes meant as fuel and recovery from I liked cooking from this book。 Many easy-to-veganize recipes。 Much more straight-forward and simpler than Gordon's other cookbooks。 Seeing his range of recipes from one book to another was nice。 My favourite part about it is that it's arranged by categories: 'Healthy' - each recipe in this section has no more than a small amount of saturated fat, sugar and salt。 'Lean' - recipes for those wanting to eat less rich foods, and 'Fit' - with calorically-dense recipes meant as fuel and recovery from one's workout。 Overall, the book feels diversely and thoughtfully-made, reminding those cooking from it that there are many ways to be healthy。 。。。more

3。5 star: I have always criticised chefs for their recipes not being balance and I wanted to love this book。 I feel it fell a bit short。 Whilst I do like some of the recipes I get easily triggered by certain things in this book。 My biggest issue is the labling of “good” and “bad” carbs in the beginning。 Food doesn’t have morals so please let’s stop labelling in this way。 The use of agave syrup as a substitute in many recipes plays into this “as nature intended” naturalistic fallacy。 However if s 3。5 star: I have always criticised chefs for their recipes not being balance and I wanted to love this book。 I feel it fell a bit short。 Whilst I do like some of the recipes I get easily triggered by certain things in this book。 My biggest issue is the labling of “good” and “bad” carbs in the beginning。 Food doesn’t have morals so please let’s stop labelling in this way。 The use of agave syrup as a substitute in many recipes plays into this “as nature intended” naturalistic fallacy。 However if someone wanted to reduce overall calories in food, the recipes here provide lower calorie and tasty options than you’d not usually find in a cookbook made by a celebrity chef。 The recipes don’t fit my personal macronutrient needs and so it wasn’t quite what I was looking for。 Specifically anyone looking for recipes to help performance with many high protein recipes (note there are several considered high protein) may want to try somewhere else first as these recipes follow RDAs for the general population。 。。。more

We’re a family of foodies so our biggest struggle with weight loss has been eating boring food。 We can never stick to a diet as we crave good food and end up lapsing/ give up after a couple of meals。 The great thing about this book is that he’s made healthy food tasty, interesting and filling。 Recipes are simple and easy to execute making them practical。 We’ve really enjoyed following this book and it’s happily showed on our waist line as well。

This is a very simple and easy to understand book in terms of its explanations for a healthy diet。 The book is really well laid out and the dishes themselves also look amazing。 Whether a novice cook like me can serve them up to an acceptable standard is another question, but I'm excited to have a go at cooking them。 This is a very simple and easy to understand book in terms of its explanations for a healthy diet。 The book is really well laid out and the dishes themselves also look amazing。 Whether a novice cook like me can serve them up to an acceptable standard is another question, but I'm excited to have a go at cooking them。 。。。more

Impressive I enjoy cooking so this book is ideal for me。 If you like routine, you can build a set menu for the week, but it’s not laid out like that and you may be disappointed。 I didn’t find the sample that appealing but as the Kindle edition was at such a low price, I gave it a go。 Very impressed with it and can’t wait to get started。 I had been trying to adapt recipes from my fav chefs which is a faff and now I don’t have to go to all that trouble。The approach to healthy eating is very down t Impressive I enjoy cooking so this book is ideal for me。 If you like routine, you can build a set menu for the week, but it’s not laid out like that and you may be disappointed。 I didn’t find the sample that appealing but as the Kindle edition was at such a low price, I gave it a go。 Very impressed with it and can’t wait to get started。 I had been trying to adapt recipes from my fav chefs which is a faff and now I don’t have to go to all that trouble。The approach to healthy eating is very down to earth and sensible。All recipes have calorie counts and I don’t ever recall a book like this with so many side dish options。 Like the fact that what would be normally termed the ‘diet’ recipes is simply called ‘lean’ and he sometimes suggests additions if you’re not watching the calories too closely。 。。。more

No good for meI'm always on the lookout for fresh, healthy recipes。 The beginning of this talks about not having special, hard to get ingredients。 These recipes include loads of ingredients I would struggle to get affordably or locally。Maybe one for after my lottery win。 Or just switch my shopping to Waitrose! My View:In the words of Gordon Ramsay (p13) …this is not a diet book telling you what (and what not) to eat, nor is it full of faddy ideas about eating cabbage soup or living off grapefruits or eating like a caveman。 It works on the very simple premise that what you put into your body makes a difference to how it functions。 It also acknowledges that the body has different requirements depending on what you are expecting it to do。” Greta advice from an award winning chef turned ultramarathon runn My View:In the words of Gordon Ramsay (p13) …this is not a diet book telling you what (and what not) to eat, nor is it full of faddy ideas about eating cabbage soup or living off grapefruits or eating like a caveman。 It works on the very simple premise that what you put into your body makes a difference to how it functions。 It also acknowledges that the body has different requirements depending on what you are expecting it to do。” Greta advice from an award winning chef turned ultramarathon runner, Gordon Ramsay。 Tasty recipes, I particularly like the section on “Nourishing breakfasts” which includes chia puddings, apple spiced porridge, toasted oat soda bread, frittata…and the “Boosting breakfasts” which include breakfasts shakes, frozen berry breakfast bowls, huevos rancheros ( a favourite of mine)。 These are easy to make, quick, fresh and delicious。 I am sure there is something that will appeal to all tastes and needs in this book。 。。。more
