Took me one and half months to finish this beautiful book, since this book is typically must-read-in-a-peace-mode-book。Absolutely gonna re-read if I need something to calming my mind。

Motivating and inspiring book

What a relief。 it's a hug in book format。 A book that is meant to read slowly。 I found reading a few pages early morning, to start a day very good mood。 It helped me to ground and balance。Also, this book has a lot of calming illustrations。 Indeed this is a book for slowing down and ease our minds。 A must-read for everyone。 What a relief。 it's a hug in book format。 A book that is meant to read slowly。 I found reading a few pages early morning, to start a day very good mood。 It helped me to ground and balance。Also, this book has a lot of calming illustrations。 Indeed this is a book for slowing down and ease our minds。 A must-read for everyone。 。。。more

I find the quotes from the author in this book inspirational and let you see things in a different perspective when you are experiencing bad times and feeling low。

It’s a sweet book that offers Sunim’s insights of living life with the Buddhist teachings。 It includes his essays, his short thoughts, and beautiful art。 It’s all familiar thoughts, and I found value to reread and remember。

Took my time on reading is but it was always a delightful experience。 It felt like a nice breeze on a hot summer's day。 It felt like I was visiting Haemin Sunim, we'd sit down and have a tea and he'd share to me his wisdom about life and everything else in between。 Took my time on reading is but it was always a delightful experience。 It felt like a nice breeze on a hot summer's day。 It felt like I was visiting Haemin Sunim, we'd sit down and have a tea and he'd share to me his wisdom about life and everything else in between。 。。。more

After reading this book, I can't remember what the book mentions about =)))) The only thing I can remember is that the healing that this book brings to me。 It made me pass difficulties that I met at that time。 Highly recommended。 After reading this book, I can't remember what the book mentions about =)))) The only thing I can remember is that the healing that this book brings to me。 It made me pass difficulties that I met at that time。 Highly recommended。 。。。more

A short yet read, yet very important perspective is towards life is shared in this book。 worth reading again and again to get an insight about our behavior, relationships, and the way we are leading the life, to rethink about our thinking pattern about nearly every aspect of our life。

I’m not going to lie。。。 I made this purchase because the cover looked pretty。。。 but I really enjoyed it。 I (even though not religious) learned to respect it a little more。 I have come to the conclusion that if there is any self-help book I should read it is from a Korean monk for sure。 My issue with most books is that somewhere in the process the author forgets they were supposed to help you with your issues and life, not show-off their own achievements and tellYou Can Do It! Because I Did It。 Thankfully this book haven’t had this issue。 It wasn’t boastful at all。 Maybe that’s why I enjoyed it!Or maybe because I am secretly a simpleminded human being and I was just excited getting trough the pages so I can look at the artwork without any guilt。 Either way。。。 even though it got overwhelming about just religion towards the end, at that point I did not mind it。 I like the way this book was built, even though I only read it for the little essays and the artwork。 I did ended up learning a lot and even highlighted things, which I never do in books! 。。。more

Definitely should be read like a devotional and not straight through like a book。 I also did the audiobook, but plan to get it in paperback so I can highlight the parts I like

Inspirational。This is a book that is meant to be read at a leisurely pace。There are eight chapters in total and each chapter highlights how a person can be the best version of themselves。This is a book that should be recommended to everyone。 It has multiple translations。 I obviously read the English version。We can all learn things from this book。 I will definitely refer to it again in the future。

very insightful and makes you re-think about the times where you might have overreacted, hurt someone's feelings and stopped to slow down and just be quiet for a moment-。 However, there were a few quotes that sounded just bland and did not really make that much sense to me。Still, I learned a lot during this short time: -> Silence and Mindfulness are powerful tools and if we use them wisely, we have already become a master of ourselves。 <- very insightful and makes you re-think about the times where you might have overreacted, hurt someone's feelings and stopped to slow down and just be quiet for a moment-。 However, there were a few quotes that sounded just bland and did not really make that much sense to me。Still, I learned a lot during this short time: -> Silence and Mindfulness are powerful tools and if we use them wisely, we have already become a master of ourselves。 <- 。。。more

I absolutely love this book。 Haemin Sunim does a great job of explaining the concept of mindfulness and being aware of our thoughts and the resulting emotions。 Concisely written yet simple enough for anyone who has limited knowledge of Buddhism or the topic of mindfulness to understand。 Even for those who are familiar, this is still a beautiful read。

This is a compact book making you aware of the knowledge you have and forcing you to put that knowledge in use。 This book can be easily completed in one sitting, but as the title says to slow down, i indeed slowed down。 You see i tried to do justice with the title!
