4。5 really。 This book is just *chef’s kiss*。 I miss the world。 I miss the characters。 I miss everything about Uncharted。 It’s come to an end said by Naughty Dog while also mentioning that they don’t own this world solely。 Even though it appears tough to integrate a new instalment to this story, I’m still hella hopeful so I send out my wishes to other companies。 Mwah-mwah xx (young Sully, or old Sully and old Sam, or Cassie would be amazing— no pressure)。 <3

Great collection of paintings and sketches and goes into interesting depth about the character and environment-driven process of making the game。 This is my favorite game of all time and it was very neat to look behind its curtain。

4。5/5 stars for me, I love reading through artbooks- especially naughty dogs。 With the previous two of theirs that I have read (Uncharted Trilogy and The Last of Us) there was a balance between photos to text, most of the text was usually explanations of how they got the design they wanted the research they did to get the final product (this was mostly in the trilogy artbook) but this time in this final to the series, this book seemed to have lacked that。 This book felt more like photos and tell 4。5/5 stars for me, I love reading through artbooks- especially naughty dogs。 With the previous two of theirs that I have read (Uncharted Trilogy and The Last of Us) there was a balance between photos to text, most of the text was usually explanations of how they got the design they wanted the research they did to get the final product (this was mostly in the trilogy artbook) but this time in this final to the series, this book seemed to have lacked that。 This book felt more like photos and telling who was the one who had created some of the images, which of course is lovely all the same but I'm someone who likes to read the process of what the people went through to get their final product, so this is why this was a 4。5/5 and not a full 5/5 stars。 。。。more

Somewhat ironically I always wish these Dark Horse gaming art books had more text。 I love flipping through the gorgeous vistas, unique obstacles and hyper-realistic character models but I want to know more about why they made the decisions they did。 The story, the characters, the missions。。。 I want to understand why they discarded one piece of artwork and went with another。Uncharted always has really incredible art in the game so I love being able to stop and look at it on the page rather than r Somewhat ironically I always wish these Dark Horse gaming art books had more text。 I love flipping through the gorgeous vistas, unique obstacles and hyper-realistic character models but I want to know more about why they made the decisions they did。 The story, the characters, the missions。。。 I want to understand why they discarded one piece of artwork and went with another。Uncharted always has really incredible art in the game so I love being able to stop and look at it on the page rather than running frantically through a city, forest, an upside down luxury liner or a train hanging off a cliff。 It shows just how much love goes into these games when you know that many players will simply speed past all this hard work。This extends to elements I never even thought of, like ensuring that a structure looks like a dilapidated ruin while ensuring the player can actually climb up the surface。 There's a great 3D rendering of the insides of a giant clock tower the player has to climb up that changes a good three or four times during the quest。。。 the constant moving parts must be a nightmare to coordinate, but it all feels so natural。If you're one of those players that likes to stop and look at every detail, this book is for you。 If you're the kind of player that rushes through the game just to complete it, this book is also for you。 It might encourage you to go back and replay the game with an eye to enjoying the world rather than finishing the next adventure。 。。。more

This book is undoubtedly one of the best game art books I've ever read。 As always Naughty Dog has delivered big-time here。。 It's quite obvious that ND has maintained close collaboration with the Dark Horse publications with this title as well the ones before it。 They never leave anything out。 early sketches, environment & character design cycles, background information, final renders, you name it。 It's all in there。 Do not miss this book if you're a fan of Uncharted series or even better Naughty This book is undoubtedly one of the best game art books I've ever read。 As always Naughty Dog has delivered big-time here。。 It's quite obvious that ND has maintained close collaboration with the Dark Horse publications with this title as well the ones before it。 They never leave anything out。 early sketches, environment & character design cycles, background information, final renders, you name it。 It's all in there。 Do not miss this book if you're a fan of Uncharted series or even better Naughty Dog's。 。。。more

This was simply excellent and is the perfect collectible for any fan of the Uncharted series, especially A Thief's End! It's just more proof that the people on the Naughty Dog team are some of the most creative and imaginative artists in the industry, and how important environmental storytelling is for gameplay。 I loved this so much。 This was simply excellent and is the perfect collectible for any fan of the Uncharted series, especially A Thief's End! A stunning visual display of the work one can come to know and expect from Naughty Dog。 The studio houses some of my favorite artists in the world, and this book (and the other "Art of" books from Naughty Dog) is a shining example。The only gripe I have with the book is accrediting the artists。 The artists are rightly credited, as far as I know, however as someone who works in production, I know the processes and how many people have a hand in the images in the book getting created。 I feel that t A stunning visual display of the work one can come to know and expect from Naughty Dog。 The studio houses some of my favorite artists in the world, and this book (and the other "Art of" books from Naughty Dog) is a shining example。The only gripe I have with the book is accrediting the artists。 The artists are rightly credited, as far as I know, however as someone who works in production, I know the processes and how many people have a hand in the images in the book getting created。 I feel that the studio should have accredited every person that worked for them, much as they do during the credit sequence in the games - the artists alone would not have gotten as far with the colorists, tech artists, animators, programmers, production assistants, coordinators, and every other person in the team。 It's a team effort, and the employees deserve more than a paltry single final page with around 20 names。Naughty Dog is hands down my favorite studio, and I'll forever be a fan。 This book is a must have for fans of the series。 。。。more

It didn't have as much rough sketches and storying boarding as I had hoped it would have。 I did appreciate that they spoke about the different decisions they made to make the 4 games match and how to end the game series in a way that made sense and gave the feeling of closure。 It didn't have as much rough sketches and storying boarding as I had hoped it would have。 I did appreciate that they spoke about the different decisions they made to make the 4 games match and how to end the game series in a way that made sense and gave the feeling of closure。 。。。more

I bought the special edition of the game that comes with a mini artbook so I was worried there wouldn't be much new material but there's lots! I don't want to pay monthly for online yet so I haven't seen the online characters; the multiplayer character art in the book was surprising and beautiful。 I love all the character art, however I'm more of a character person than a scenery person so more character sketches and less scenery would make it 5/5 for me。 And some more art of Rafe in particular。 I bought the special edition of the game that comes with a mini artbook so I was worried there wouldn't be much new material but there's lots! Absolutely beautiful work yet again from Naughty Dog。Unlike a few others who wanted a more in-depth description through text, I was more than happy with that amount of work on display - with just the lengthy introduction。This series has always inspired me both as an artist and as a visual storyteller - but it has also inspired me to learn more about history in general。Another reference book for the future。10/10

While I wish there was some more behind the scenes commentary to discuss how the game transformed and came together during development, the art book is still packed with gorgeous art and fantastic concepts。 It's great to see what could have been and what came to be from the art and design standpoint。 While I wish there was some more behind the scenes commentary to discuss how the game transformed and came together during development, the art book is still packed with gorgeous art and fantastic concepts。 It's great to see what could have been and what came to be from the art and design standpoint。 。。。more

The game was a master piece and this book shows what art went behind it。 Seeing the concept art for some of the great scenes was quite charming。 The final scenes really captured the essence or did better than the art。
