Summary

Wrogowie uzbrojeni w straszliwą moc, napędzani wspomnieniem zdrady i straty, wyznaczyli kurs zemsty。 Kto przeżyje pełne nienawiści starcie? Przed wami porywająca opowieść o ambicjach, zazdrości, pożądaniu i mrocznych, nadprzyrodzonych mocach!

Wacho Lector!

This book was IN。 SANE。 I LOVEDDD how you don’t know what happened with Eli and Victor’s friendship and you slowly learn about it through back story and switching timelines。 Also the switching timelines was such a genius aspect that enhanced the book for me so much。 This story was so captivating from chapter 1 and I can’t wait to read the sequel。

MDS! I am unsure on whether I want to give this a 4 or 5 stars, because I'm currently writing this off the buzz of that ending and finishing this book。 This was the "all things books!" book for April and I was determined to finish it today。Okay, onto the book itself, the exploration on the what makes hero and villain, through the perspectives of Eli and Victor was done really well。 But instead, both of them are villains in their own way。 They play with fire and pay the price。 I loved Mitch as a side I am unsure on whether I want to give this a 4 or 5 stars, because I'm currently writing this off the buzz of that ending and finishing this book。 This was the "all things books!" book for April and I was determined to finish it today。Okay, onto the book itself, the exploration on the what makes hero and villain, through the perspectives of Eli and Victor was done really well。 But instead, both of them are villains in their own way。 They play with fire and pay the price。 I loved Mitch as a side character, and I found Sydney to be an interesting character, who at first got caught in the middle because of her being an EO, but then accepted her place within everything。 Her dog, Dol was cute too。 Didn't really like Serena as much though。The tension between Eli and Victor was done amazingly, both in the present timeline and the past timeline of how they became EO's themselves。 I also liked that we got snip-bits of the past and parts of the present told from the other characters perspective。That ending really has me wanting to reach for the second book on my shelf, but I've got other books to get through first。Really glad that I finally read this, now I just have the third book to wait for and her other series to start 😅 。。。more

I read this because I enjoyed another book by the same author。 The book was not what I expected at all and a little odd, definitely not my cup of tea。

This book was going in an interesting direction。 I love the idea of acquiring extraordinary abilities through science or experiments based on facts。 But, I did not like the way the book was paced nor the way it progressed。 The powers became similar to those of a comic book and the story was fast-paced。 My preconceived ideas about what this book may be clouding my judgment but I was really hoping for a book that showed the slow progression of desperation and what it can do to the human psyche。 I This book was going in an interesting direction。 I love the idea of acquiring extraordinary abilities through science or experiments based on facts。 But, I did not like the way the book was paced nor the way it progressed。 The powers became similar to those of a comic book and the story was fast-paced。 My preconceived ideas about what this book may be clouding my judgment but I was really hoping for a book that showed the slow progression of desperation and what it can do to the human psyche。 I was hoping that the powers would be subtle as well。 。。。more

This book was incredibly intriguing from first glance and I wanted to keep reading from the first line。 I loved how the story was told through different time lines so that it never grew old, and I adored how well the stories blended together through time。 I also liked how everything eventually clicked into place, even if the author never explicitly said something。 The plot of this book was action packed and it felt like I was watching an incredibly long superhero movie, which isn’t for everyone This book was incredibly intriguing from first glance and I wanted to keep reading from the first line。 I loved how the story was told through different time lines so that it never grew old, and I adored how well the stories blended together through time。 I also liked how everything eventually clicked into place, even if the author never explicitly said something。 The plot of this book was action packed and it felt like I was watching an incredibly long superhero movie, which isn’t for everyone but it’s most certainly for me。 The characters were also very interesting and complex。 SLIGHT SPOILER: I loved how no one was a “good” guy。 There were simply people with bad morals (Victor) and people with worse morals (Eli)。 This part of the book made it very unique because whatever outcome happened, that didn’t necessarily mean that things would turn out well。SPOILER WARNING:I took away one point for two reasons: the lack of diversity and the character of Serena。 The lack of diversity is self explanatory but I feel I need to go a little more in depth for Serena。 Basically, Serena’s power is that she can make people do whatever she wants。 And the way she uses this power is very concerning。 Not only does she make people kiss and have sex with her without consent, she practically forces herself on people。 She raped Eli and the narrator said she did it to other people before simply because she got “bored。” This entire thing made me absolutely disgusted。 If the character was portrayed as bad for those reasons as well as the obvious manipulation, I would have liked it better。 The whole sexual assault and rape aspect of her character is completely overlooked。 It makes me sick to think about it。 However, she died and therefore I’m happy。 It’s kind of like the whole Voldemort-Umbridge scenario。 Given the choice to kill one and have the other live forever, I would kill Umbridge in a heartbeat。 That is like this in terms of I would kill Serena in a heartbeat, even though Eli is a cold hearted murderer who justifies his actions by saying that he is a soldier of god。 She’s that bad, and the author should have taken a completely different route with her character and the book would still have been good without her being Eli’s “love interest。”I’m rambling, but you get the point。 This book was very good, I don’t think I’m going to read the sequel but was enjoyable, and the plot was unique and the characters were mostly great, except for Serena, obviously。 。。。more

4 1/2 ⭐️Victor and Eli, a toxic, fucked up friendship, that turned best friends into enemies, SOOO GOOD!! I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book as much as it did! The second characters are so good and lovable! Mitch and Syd, I loved them! Now I’m starting book 2, cannot wait to find out what these villains are up to!

4。5 stars I didn't have really many expectations about this book。 But I was curious about it, so I tried picking it up and reading it。And I absolutely love this book。 I like how Schwab gave a back-and-forth recap on everything that had happened with Victor and Eli, and although it can be a bit jarring at first, I found myself being hooked as I delved deeper into the story。 The story started kind of slow, only to pick up its pace and increase its tension as the book progresses, which is really f 4。5 stars I didn't have really many expectations about this book。 But I was curious about it, so I tried picking it up and reading it。And I absolutely love this book。 I like how Schwab gave a back-and-forth recap on everything that had happened with Victor and Eli, and although it can be a bit jarring at first, I found myself being hooked as I delved deeper into the story。 The story started kind of slow, only to pick up its pace and increase its tension as the book progresses, which is really fun for me to read。 It worked just like a movie, and since I love movies for as long as I can remember, I also love this type of narration。I really like how Victor Vale is depicted as a misunderstood villain。 He has his own morality, which is interesting to see。 He does not want to resolve the conflict to save the EOs, but he has his own agendas and that makes him a really enticing character。 It's really interesting to see how he tries to achieve his goals。 He's calculating and careful, and I like seeing smart characters on the page。I also like how Schwab depicts Eli Cardale's 'holier-than-thou' mindset。 We get to see his twisted and messed up mindset but I think it's great that the author is capable of inserting the antagonist's point of view aside from the protagonist's。 “There are no good men in this game。” It is so interesting how the author gives the readers two mindsets that are morally grey。 Sure, you can argue that Eli is the bad guy here, but you have to agree that Victor is not the traditional hero。 He's not afraid to torture and kill as long as it justifies his revenge。 And I think it's a refreshing thing to see in books。The side characters are also entertaining。 I love the duo of Mitch and Sydney。 I often found myself being frustrated by the police officers, and I absolutely loathe Serena Clarke。 It is amazing how I can have so many complex feelings in one book。 This book definitely gave that sensation to me。I kind of expected more schemes from Victor because this book sells Victor as this cunning and calculating person。 It kind of disappointed me that the schemes were not as grand as I expected, but I think an intimate and slow build-up to this story certainly works so well too。 And I stan asexual representation in books! (Technically, it is not revealed in this book, but still, it's really cool。)Anyway, in the end, I'd totally recommend this to everyone, especially if you like seeing revenge stories and morally grey characters。 This book is definitely for you。 。。。more

Przyjemna lektura jednak bez szału。Bardzo ciekawa relacja pomiędzy głównymi bohaterami。 Od przyjaźni, poprzez zazdrość, aż po szczerą nienawiść。 Bardzo mocnym plusem tej książki jest brak pozytywnego bohatera。 Obaj: Victor i Eli są mężczyznami, którzy niekoniecznie kierują się dobrem innych ludzi。 Obaj wyznają zasadę ,,po trupach do celu"。Fun fact: Pomysł na fabułę przypomina mi trochę Addie LaRue。 Czyli bohaterzy dostają ,,moc", która daje im siłę/przewagę nad innymi, natomiast poźniej okazuje Przyjemna lektura jednak bez szału。Bardzo ciekawa relacja pomiędzy głównymi bohaterami。 Od przyjaźni, poprzez zazdrość, aż po szczerą nienawiść。 Bardzo mocnym plusem tej książki jest brak pozytywnego bohatera。 Obaj: Victor i Eli są mężczyznami, którzy niekoniecznie kierują się dobrem innych ludzi。 Obaj wyznają zasadę ,,po trupach do celu"。Fun fact: Pomysł na fabułę przypomina mi trochę Addie LaRue。 Czyli bohaterzy dostają ,,moc", która daje im siłę/przewagę nad innymi, natomiast poźniej okazuje się ich przekleństwem。 。。。more

So I give this book 4。5 stars!I really loved the beginning, but toward the end my interest kinda fell。 Though I still liked the writing style and the set up and pay offs。 It could be a little slow at times。 Nontheless it was still engaging, because at the end of every chapter, it makes you wanting to read further!

I had no prior knowledge of this book before I picked it up, I was just drawn to the cover art。 While it started slow, it really found it's footing about 50 pages or so in。 Has a flashback/flashforward narrative, and I'm not really a fan of these, but I found Vicious to be an absolute page turner。 Honestly couldn't put it down once it took off。 I'd give it 4。5 stars。 I had no prior knowledge of this book before I picked it up, I was just drawn to the cover art。 While it started slow, it really found it's footing about 50 pages or so in。 Has a flashback/flashforward narrative, and I'm not really a fan of these, but I found Vicious to be an absolute page turner。 Honestly couldn't put it down once it took off。 I'd give it 4。5 stars。 。。。more
