3。5honestly wasn’t feeling it at the beginning, but as it moved on i felt a whole lot more invested with the characters and theming of the story。

Some sad deaths。 Also, by the very last couple of pages the book answered just BAAAARELY enough questions for me to not be annoyed at the ending。 (I was a bit worried for a minute。) But there are still SO many more questions of what comes next and what exactly happened before。 NAGGING questions。 (There was a "Group B"?!?)- Language: Lots of made-up profanity-like slang words。 Klunk。 Shuck。 That sort of thing。- Violence: Teenagers dying。 Blood, battling monsters。 Lethal banishment。 A relatively light amount of violence。 。。。more

This book is very well written。 It is compelling and hard to put down。 I enjoyed it very much。 Would totally recommend。 The only thing I didn't like was that there was no romance, but, overall, it was a very good book。 This book is very well written。 It is compelling and hard to put down。 I enjoyed it very much。 Would totally recommend。 The only thing I didn't like was that there was no romance, but, overall, it was a very good book。 。。。more

The Maze Runner was never a book I wanted to read。 There was no reason why, I just didn't think it would appeal。 It seems silly to me now, but I think it being made into a movie was part of it。 I tend to avoid novels that have film adaptations because I like to avoid trends and read things a bit more out of the box, I guess you could say。 Not that I actually end up doing that half the time。And then one day, I saw The Maze Runner on sale at my local store。 It was so cheap I couldn't not buy it。 I The Maze Runner was never a book I wanted to read。 There was no reason why, I just didn't think it would appeal。 It seems silly to me now, but I think it being made into a movie was part of it。 I tend to avoid novels that have film adaptations because I like to avoid trends and read things a bit more out of the box, I guess you could say。 Not that I actually end up doing that half the time。And then one day, I saw The Maze Runner on sale at my local store。 It was so cheap I couldn't not buy it。 I reasoned that if I didn't like it, at least I paid barely anything for it。But how wrong I was。 Right from the start, this book grabbed me。 I couldn't put it down right from the first page, and Dashner kept adding sneaky little cliff hangers that meant you had to keep reading。 There was no stopping me。 I read this book in 3 days, which isn't any amazing feat because this isn't a big book, but I had to slow myself down to make it last those 3 days。 I had to physically restrain myself and remind myself of my work commitments that were arguably more important。 The way this story is written reads as being childish and silly, yet underneath all that it's actually very serious in a way that keeps the reader engaged。 Dashner uses humour and childish mannerisms to defuse the tension and horrors these people face in the Maze at the hands of their Creators。 This book has an important message to spread under all the informal language, and I feel this will only be further developed in The Scorch Trials。The characters were awesome。 Dashner really has a way with creating such vivid characters。 Thomas was a little annoying and whiny to begin with, but he developed over the text into someone who I admired and enjoyed following through the story。 Chuck, who also started as a slightly irritating, immature kid turned out to be someone I liked hearing from too, even after my initial reservations。 As for Minho, yes。 Yes, I would die for him。 I loved Minho。This book will always keep you guessing。 Nothing is really as you think it is, and the twists just keep coming。 Throughout the story twists are scattered through to keep you guessing, and it makes TMR a very fun read。 Sure, some of the twists are heartbreaking, but some are hopeful。 There is equal amounts of pain and joy in this book, which I find heartening。Personally, I found the start of the text very good, but near the end it petered out。 I have no idea why this was, because it was all very exciting and the end should be the best bit, but I almost felt let down by the ending。 I wanted something more, something that would really make you go "wow!!" But in saying that, I do understand that this book is part of a trilogy and there has to be something more for the author to go on with。 All in all, 4 stars from me。 This book kept me thinking about it even when I wasn't reading, and thats something I love about a good book。 All that let it down was the ending, which I found to be a tad predictable and a little less exciting than the rest of the book。 However, I'm excited to read The Scorch Trials。 。。。more

I'm not a fan。 I basically skimmed the book as I wasn't fond of the writing style。 I'm not saying it's a bad book, I'm reading the next in the series, but it is certainly one I won't read again。 I'm not a fan。 I basically skimmed the book as I wasn't fond of the writing style。 I'm not saying it's a bad book, I'm reading the next in the series, but it is certainly one I won't read again。 。。。more

It would be wrong to lie and say I’m not just reading this because I think Dylan O’Brien is extremely sexy and I just want to watch the movies。。 that being said it was a great & quick book 😋

Decidedly average。 It takes a very long time for not a lot to happen。 Thomas is a total Gary Stu and the literal only female character for 99% of the book pretty much does nothing except be lumped into the needs protecting category along with a kid who we know not a lot about except that he’s always nice and way too upbeat about everything。

Für Jungs der Klasse 7 und 8 ganz in Ordnung und angemessen spannend。 Aber nicht mein persönlicher Favorit。

The reason why i loved reading this book is because about how more detailed it was then the movie。 For example we learn more about characters and their backrounds than the movie。 Though about somewhere in the middle i found it getting a bit boring but it eventually started to fill with more action。 I would recommend this book to anyone who is okay reading a book with around 300 pages and no pictures lol

I decided to read the first book because I was planning to rewatch the movies and。。 I really didn’t like it。 If I wouldn’t have known the plot beforehand, it would’ve been a three star rating。 But the writing is just so terrible (especially the limited dialogue) that I just wanted to be done with it。 Currently contemplating whether I’ll give the second book another chance, because I’ve been told it’s the best in the series but will most likely just watch the movies in peace and look at Dylan O’B I decided to read the first book because I was planning to rewatch the movies and。。 I really didn’t like it。 If I wouldn’t have known the plot beforehand, it would’ve been a three star rating。 But the writing is just so terrible (especially the limited dialogue) that I just wanted to be done with it。 Currently contemplating whether I’ll give the second book another chance, because I’ve been told it’s the best in the series but will most likely just watch the movies in peace and look at Dylan O’Brien😌 quite disappointing。 。。。more

Why is it so many YA novels are more engaging and memorable that adult fiction? This is another series I will need to complete。

I don't know why people are so rough when rating this book。 We gotta remember it was meant as a book for young teens, so we shouldn't expect extremely complex and hard-to-follow storylines。 What I personally enjoyed most were the differences between the movies and the books。 And trust me, there were quite a lot! Really interesting plot with an underlying, smart theme of growing up。 Unrealistic characters with little to no character devolopment and when a character dies, the book continues unfazed。 The first book is a good Y/A book, but as the series continue, the books drastically lower in quality。 The Fever Code is a mess and The Death Cure is boring。 Watch the movies instead for more human-like characters。
