So I gave this book 4 stars even though when I started reading it I had only planned on giving it 2 stars。 However， the last half of the book picked up and made it so much better that it boosted it up to 4 starts。 I have always loved this series by J。R。 Ward but I think that she is writing too much non sense that doesn't need to be in it just to lengthen the story。 I get it but it's hard on readers like me。 Overall good book and looking forward to the next book in the series。 So I gave this book 4 stars even though when I started reading it I had only planned on giving it 2 stars。 However， the last half of the book picked up and made it so much better that it boosted it up to 4 starts。 I have always loved this series by J。R。 Ward but I think that she is writing too much non sense that doesn't need to be in it just to lengthen the story。 I get it but it's hard on readers like me。 Overall good book and looking forward to the next book in the series。 。。。more

I liked this book but didn't love it。 I've been waiting to see what Ward was going to do with intrepid reporter Jo for a few novels now and ultimately I was satisfied with how it all went down。 But there was too much Butch。 I'm over Butch。 And I wasn't a huge fan of Syn's redemption - it all felt a little too。。。 quick from the damaged male he was to where he ended。 I don't buy it。 It didn't feel right。 I'm not sure I'm thrilled with how integrated this series is becoming with the Fallen Angel's I liked this book but didn't love it。 I've been waiting to see what Ward was going to do with intrepid reporter Jo for a few novels now and ultimately I was satisfied with how it all went down。 But there was too much Butch。 I'm over Butch。 And I wasn't a huge fan of Syn's redemption - it all felt a little too。。。 quick from the damaged male he was to where he ended。 I don't buy it。 It didn't feel right。 I'm not sure I'm thrilled with how integrated this series is becoming with the Fallen Angel's series considering I gave up on that one after book 3 or 4。 I am glad about the lesser storyline。。。 mostly because I've never been a big fan of it。 Maybe I'm a bit too much of a paranormal romance fan and the urban fantasy side of this series was a bit of a downer but in some of the other books of the BDB series I've loved the action and near death experiences。 Basically I think this was a bit of a filler book before the series moves onto other things。 It wasn't that memorable and I've only just finished it。 But it was nice to be back in the BDD world。 。。。more

This would have been rated lower except for the last 50 pages or so。 I skimmed thru so much of the first half: the Lessers， Mr F， Devina， Syn’s background。。。none of it interested me。 But it finally got good towards the end。

MILD SPOILERS！！！While I've loved the Blackdagger Brotherhood series of books from its inception I have had my reservations about the Fallen Angels series of books。 Reading this book I almost lost faith in the series when a character from the one series crossed over into this one。 I didn't see how that would work without bringing into question the entire lore and rules of the Blackdagger brotherhood world。 A great writer is able to make real things you as a reader and fan didn't think possible an MILD SPOILERS！！！While I've loved the Blackdagger Brotherhood series of books from its inception I have had my reservations about the Fallen Angels series of books。 Reading this book I almost lost faith in the series when a character from the one series crossed over into this one。 I didn't see how that would work without bringing into question the entire lore and rules of the Blackdagger brotherhood world。 A great writer is able to make real things you as a reader and fan didn't think possible and J。R。 Ward delivers just that。 So if you start to feel your interest get shaky at the realization of the crossover， don't。 The culmination of events and implications of it all will leave you stunned， thoroughly entertained， and excited for more。。。J。R。 Ward is a goddess with a pen and an imagination that never ceases to amaze， thrill， and deliver。 。。。more
