Summary

A fine exclusive edition of one of literature’s most beloved stories。 Featuring a laser-cut jacket on a textured book with foil stamping, all titles in this series will be first editions。 No more than 10,000 copies will be printed, and each will be individually numbered from 1 to 10,000。

It was a perfect day, with a bright sun and a few fleecy clouds in the heavens。 The trees and wayside hedges were just throwing out their first green shoots, and the air was full of the pleasant smell of the moist earth。 To me at least there was a strange contrast between the sweet promise of the spring and this sinister quest upon which we were engaged。

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of twelve stories written by Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his iconic detective。 Venture back in time to Victorian London to join literature's greatest detective team — the brilliant Sherlock Holmes and his devoted assistant, Dr。 Watson — as they investigate a dozen of their best-known cases。 Originally published in 1892, featured tales include several of the author's personal favorites: "A Scandal in Bohemia" — in which a king is blackmailed by a former lover and Holmes matches wits with the only woman to attract his open admiration — plus "The Speckled Band," "The Red-Headed League," and "The Five Orange Pips。" Additional mysteries include "The Blue Carbuncle," "The Engineer’s Thumb," "The Beryl Coronet," "The Copper Beeches," and others。

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Seasons Edition--Spring) is one of four titles available in March 2021。 The spring season also will include Emma, The Secret Garden, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame。

I love all of the Sherlock Holmes stories。 I had to read some of these detective stories in highschool, so it was really awesome to go through them again as an adult and actually understand them。

I really enjoyed all the stories and methods of deduction。 I loved that I got so many Holmes stories in one book and with a quick ending。 The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that a few stories ended abruptly, without proper justice or explanation。 But all the stories were very engaging to read。 I really enjoyed all the stories and methods of deduction。 I loved that I got so many Holmes stories in one book and with a quick ending。 The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that a few stories ended abruptly, without proper justice or explanation。 But all the stories were very engaging to read。 。。。more

Back to my youthThis is the first time I have read the adventures since I was a child。 Now aged 70 I still find them delightful。 This was always my favourite short story book。 Holmes was never quite the same after he died。

My favorite of the short story collections。 I went to list my favorites of the stories, but it included basically all of them。 My all-time favorite is "The Engineer's Thumb," followed by "A Case of Identity," neither of which got made in the Jeremy Brett series, more's the pity。 This is the "classic" Holmes, and if you want to understand later pastiche, these are the stories to know (as well as The Hound of the Baskervilles)。 My favorite of the short story collections。 I went to list my favorites of the stories, but it included basically all of them。 My all-time favorite is "The Engineer's Thumb," followed by "A Case of Identity," neither of which got made in the Jeremy Brett series, more's the pity。 This is the "classic" Holmes, and if you want to understand later pastiche, these are the stories to know (as well as The Hound of the Baskervilles)。 。。。more

I did enjoy some of the stories, but it became very tedious and in the end, I was very bored。 The fact that it took me so long to read this book, just showed that。 They were too short to be satisfying because you didn't really get to enjoy the mystery。 I also thought it was kind of stupid that Watson was always showing up when Sherlock had a case。 That's just not realistic。 I did still enjoy the overall Sherlock Holmes vibes, although I don't think it is necessary to read them if you've read the I did enjoy some of the stories, but it became very tedious and in the end, I was very bored。 The fact that it took me so long to read this book, just showed that。 They were too short to be satisfying because you didn't really get to enjoy the mystery。 I also thought it was kind of stupid that Watson was always showing up when Sherlock had a case。 That's just not realistic。 I did still enjoy the overall Sherlock Holmes vibes, although I don't think it is necessary to read them if you've read the others。 。。。more

I really struggled to concentrate for the first four or five stories of this collection (although that might be more about me failing to multitask while listening to the audiobook), but found the latter handful quite riveting。 The Speckled Band, and the Copper Beeches, I think are particularly excellent here。

I enjoyed the short-story format of the book! It was great to be able to finish recaps of Sherlock’s cases between work, sleep, family time and meals。 I also enjoyed the references to previous cases in this book, since it creates a sense of consistency and unity throughout the detective career of Holmes and Watson。

This book made me want to moo。 Like a cow。 Uncontrollably。 I don't know why, it just did。 Like REALLY loud, not just a small one。 The old language activated my butter-making instincts and I went all out。 My wife told me to take it outside but it was too cold so I made it in the bathtub。 trying to make cold butter is hard even with mooing。 Every time I make butter I moo to make the milk submissive。 It really helps curdle it。 Unrelated, if anyone wants to buy some hand-made butter, email me at you This book made me want to moo。 Like a cow。 Uncontrollably。 I don't know why, it just did。 Like REALLY loud, not just a small one。 The old language activated my butter-making instincts and I went all out。 My wife told me to take it outside but it was too cold so I made it in the bathtub。 trying to make cold butter is hard even with mooing。 Every time I make butter I moo to make the milk submissive。 It really helps curdle it。 Unrelated, if anyone wants to buy some hand-made butter, email me at yourmom@butter。com。 。。。more

I’m very。。。。。whelmed。 Not overwhelmed。 Not underwhelmed。 Just。 Whelmed。Of course there are some stories in this collection that I enjoyed more than others, and some I found to be just very boring。 I think it’s safe to say that I very much prefer the movie and TV adaptations of Sherlock more than the books, but I’m still pressing onward in the series!
