Summary

You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious。 Except 。 。 。 here's how books work。 Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud。 Even if the words say 。 。 。
BLORK。 Or BLUURF。 And even if the words include things like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and MY HEAD IS MADE OF BLUEBERRY PIZZA!
That's the rule。 That's the deal。

Brilliantly irreverent and very, very silly, The Book With No Pictures will delight kids and have them begging for more。 From award-winning US comic writer and actor, B。 J。 Novak。

This is a very entertaining book despite it not having any pictures! It makes great use of funny onomatopoeias which could make it a very fun read aloud book for a younger audience!

Crystal

Genre: Modern Fantasy FictionGrade Level: PreK-2ndI was very skeptical of this book when my PreK students requested for me to read this book aloud to them, but it was a hit! This book may not have any illustrations but it is super engaging。 Students really get a kick out of their teacher or other adults saying silly things, so this book is great for that! There isn't a big theme or moral to the story, but this book is a lot of fun and will definitely have a place in my future classroom。 Genre: Modern Fantasy FictionGrade Level: PreK-2ndI was very skeptical of this book when my PreK students requested for me to read this book aloud to them, but it was a hit! My 4 year old son wants me to read it 5+ times a day, so that tells you something。 1 star for me -- I'm already pretty tired of making the silly sounds and getting outraged about being a robot monkey。 100 stars for him, best book of all time。 My 4 year old son wants me to read it 5+ times a day, so that tells you something。 1 star for me -- I'm already pretty tired of making the silly sounds and getting outraged about being a robot monkey。 100 stars for him, best book of all time。 。。。more

This book makes me laugh and I am sure it will make young readers laugh! However, I really, really love pictures in picture books。 I know, I know, I am so predictable。

A great way to show kids that books can be fun even when they don't have any pictures。 The amount of enjoyment children will get from this story depends entirely on how willing the reader is to get silly with the text - this is not the right read aloud for someone shy/reserved to share with a group of kids! You need to embrace your daft side and throw yourself whole heartedly into the conversational style of the book for kids to connect with the concept and see the fun that can be had with words A great way to show kids that books can be fun even when they don't have any pictures。 The amount of enjoyment children will get from this story depends entirely on how willing the reader is to get silly with the text - this is not the right read aloud for someone shy/reserved to share with a group of kids! Maddison's new favorite book to read for bedtime。 To any parents out there thinking your toddler/preschooler won't enjoy a book with no pictures, they will love it as long as you put love into reading it。 Maddison's new favorite book to read for bedtime。 To any parents out there thinking your toddler/preschooler won't enjoy a book with no pictures, they will love it as long as you put love into reading it。 。。。more

The Book with No Pictures is exactly what the title says – page after page is nothing but words! No illustrations; rather, the words are floating on the pages in a large font。 B。J。 Novak is trying to teach children what reading is really about。 It’s about the words on the pages and how they are forced to read or say exactly what is written。 What an AMAZING book to show children that books can be fun even without pictures, and a bonus the adult reading has to say silly and ridiculous things。I thi The Book with No Pictures is exactly what the title says – page after page is nothing but words! In reading and/or listening to this story, children can understand how POWERFUL words can be。 Books don’t need pictures to be interesting。 This book can be used within the classroom, allowing students to use their imagination, paint scents from the book, and try to illustrate The Book With No Pictures。 。。。more
