Summary

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads — his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad — and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing。 The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you。

A fascinating look into two different perspectives on money and wealth。 I love learning how to see things from a different perspective, and Kiyosaki provides plenty to think about here。 I’ll definitely be thinking about the parables shared in this book for years to come。

Algunos buenos consejos pero en líneas generales es muy básico y repetitivo。 Podía decir lo mismo en 50 páginas。

The lessons from this book are straightforward and powerful。 Examples of these lessons are: work on increasing your asset column, pay yourself first and invest in your own financial education。 These are all good lessons for everyone to understand to become financially independent。Even though the book is easy to read and not in depth, the book repeats these examples too much and therefore becomes a bit uninteresting at the end。 Also, the author - in my opinion somehow controversially - portraits The lessons from this book are straightforward and powerful。 Examples of these lessons are: work on increasing your asset column, pay yourself first and invest in your own financial education。 These are all good lessons for everyone to understand to become financially independent。Even though the book is easy to read and not in depth, the book repeats these examples too much and therefore becomes a bit uninteresting at the end。 Also, the author - in my opinion somehow controversially - portraits the rich and poor dad too stereotypical。 This enhances the teaching of the lessons, but it sounds denigrating towards certain people。All in all, if you are in a life's phase to understand more about your own financial literacy - I still recommend this easy and quick to read book for your education。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, had two fathers。 Poor Dad was his biological father, a knowledgeable and well-educated man who chooses to believe in excelling academically, afterwards finding a lucrative job。 Nonetheless, he was financially unstable。 Rich Dad, on the other hand, was Mike’s father, Kiyosaki's best friend。 He had an identical work ethic to Poor Dad, but he believed in financial literacy, learning how money works, and acknowledging how to make money work for him。 Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, had two fathers。 Poor Dad was his biological father, a knowledgeable and well-educated man who chooses to believe in excelling academically, afterwards finding a lucrative job。 Nonetheless, he was financially unstable。 Rich Dad, on the other hand, was Mike’s father, Kiyosaki's best friend。 He had an identical work ethic to Poor Dad, but he believed in financial literacy, learning how money works, and acknowledging how to make money work for him。 Despite being a dropout, he eventually became a wealthy man。According to the author, the educational system lacks proper financial education as it aims to develop professionalism rather than financial literacy。 Hence, students who have flourished in their professions experience difficulties to manage their finances。 He observed that both his Rich and Poor dads strived, however in financial resources, Poor Dad never used his knowledge to his benefit。 With this said, Rich Dad trained him lessons about funds and finances。 He stated that the difference between being poor and being broke is that “poor is eternal, broke is temporary。” As a result, the author was inspired to learn how money works and how to make it work for him by his rich dad。First, it discusses wealthy people who do not work for money。 Talking about money always levitates to a discussion about employment。 However, it is acceptable because if you lack assets or skills, a job is a convenient way to generate income since generating basic income is the first step toward building wealth。 The wealthy, on the other hand, do not remain in the job process for extended periods of time since they work and concentrate on making money work for them。 Kiyosaki notes that a job is a temporary solution to the lasting problem of achieving financial independence。 According to Rich Dad, "The poor and middle class work for money。 The wealthy have money to put to work for them。”Following that, the wealthy accumulate assets, whereas the poor and middle classes accumulate liabilities obscured as assets。 The distinction between both asset and liability is determined not by your income, but by the money retained。 An asset generates revenue, whereas a liability depletes the bank account。 Furthermore, countless successful and talented people struggle with financial difficulties; hence, it claims that acknowledging the tax and legal benefits plays a significant role in accumulating long-term prosperity。 Additionally, financial IQ consists of understanding accounting, investing, marketing, and the law, which if paired it with skill sets, could achieve great wealth。Finally, the most compelling asset is our minds。 There are five reasons why most people still may not produce significant income: fear, cynicism, laziness, bad habits and arrogance。 Most do not succeed financially because the impact of losing money outweighs the joy of becoming wealthy, as said in the book。 Similarly, recognizing risk is essential for controlling emotions and not being concerned about potential failures。 Moreover, perseverance is what will bring success, not the desire to succeed immediately。This book made me fond of financial books。 After reading it, I started searching for multiple business books and understanding everything I possibly could。 As someone who aspires to be financially independent, this book intrigued me to step outside of my comfort zone rather than being satisfied with having a job after graduation。 One frequent critique of this book is that there is no step-by-step process on how to begin unlike other books。 Personally, I don't mind because the book's motivation inspired me to learn more about financial literacy from other books and has changed my perspective on money。 As a result, I gained so much knowledge, which is worth it in and of itself。 With this said, I recommend this book to those who want to learn more about personal finance or for those who want to be inspired to become financially independent someday。 。。。more

When most dads come home from work and say, “Princess, I got you something,” most daughters would anticipate a new toy, a sweet treat, or even just a thinking-of-you Knick knack from the office。 Not my dad。 Nope。 My dad walked in the door and told me with unmatched enthusiasm, “Ry, come see what I got you。” “Ouhhhhh, what is it,” I said。 He plopped Rich Dad, Poor Dad in my hands。 “A book you should read。” I looked him dead in the eye。 “You know, I would’ve much preferred the Throne of Glass seri When most dads come home from work and say, “Princess, I got you something,” most daughters would anticipate a new toy, a sweet treat, or even just a thinking-of-you Knick knack from the office。 Not my dad。 Nope。 My dad walked in the door and told me with unmatched enthusiasm, “Ry, come see what I got you。” “Ouhhhhh, what is it,” I said。 He plopped Rich Dad, Poor Dad in my hands。 “A book you should read。” I looked him dead in the eye。 “You know, I would’ve much preferred the Throne of Glass series in hardcover。” “Yeah, well this will do you more good。” So, a few eye rolls later, I begrudgingly read it。 And as much as I HATE admitting my dad knew better, he did。 This book was a super quick read and was really easy to wrap my head around。 It definitely wasn’t a “get quick rich” read, which the author will blatantly tell you in the book。 He really just teaches you life skills on how to view your finances。 Fortunately, my dad read this book years ago and has recited these lessons (maybe even subconsciously) to me my whole life。 So, I can’t say this book was revolutionary for me。 However, it did reinforce some very important topics and introduced some new ones as well。 Even just hearing the author’s personal experiences was very informative。 I think this book is ideal for people who have NO idea about money。 I have always been very ambitious in that regard so I learned a lot of this early on (not that I don’t have a LOT more to learn)。 I’d say if you’re a parent or a friend of someone with kids in their pre teen or early teens, this book is a good start to their financial education。 It’s easy to understand, short, and doesn’t bore you with highly technical financial terminology。 For me, this book was like a 3。5 star read, but I can 100% see how for others it would be a game changer。 I definitely recommend it。 。。。more
