Summary

At this high school, instead of jocks and nerds, the students are divided into predators and prey。

At a high school where the students are literally divided into predators and prey, friendships maintain the fragile peace。 Who among them will become a Beastar—a hero destined to lead in a society naturally rife with mistrust?

As a consequence of his savage battle with brown bear Riz, doors begin to close for gray wolf Legoshi, and he must strike out on his own。 Temptation arises when he makes a new herbivore friend, Merino sheep Seven, who is being harassed at work by her carnivore colleagues。 We finally meet the current valiant Beastar, horse Yahya, who shares a history with Legoshi’s family。 Like Legoshi and Louis, Yahya strives to make the world a better place—but do his ends justify his means? Then, both Louis and Legoshi must come to terms with their father figures…

I loved this volume for so many reasons。 The consequences for our characters are real and palpable, and you can tell that they didn't think things all the way through when they made their decisions in the previous volume。 I continue to love each and every volume as it goes along。 Looking forward to the next one。If you would like my more in depth feelings about this title, please check out this review vlog! https://www。youtube。com/watch?v=-6vAl。。。 I loved this volume for so many reasons。 The consequences for our characters are real and palpable, and you can tell that they didn't think things all the way through when they made their decisions in the previous volume。 I continue to love each and every volume as it goes along。 Looking forward to the next one。If you would like my more in depth feelings about this title, please check out this review vlog! https://www。youtube。com/watch?v=-6vAl。。。 。。。more

Thanks to NetGalley & Viz for the early copy in exchange for an honest review。Oh man, oh MAN。 The drama。。。so good! I really enjoyed seeing more of Legoshi's family tree and finally meeting the current Beastars! The character progression was off the hook here, I especially like seeing the tense moments between deer old dad and Louis。 I always appreciate the extra world-building and Paru's artwork gets better and better with each volume。Great series! I liked this volume。 Lots or little side stories of different animals in the society。 But the most exciting bit would have to be at the end。 I’m so glad we finally get to meet his grandfather!

4。5/ starsI'm not sure about Legosi's decision to drop out of school。 However, it's pretty entertaining and interesting seeing him explore the outside world。I like his friendship with the newest introduced character, Sebun, and the reunion with his grandpa Gosha (who hasn't lost the touch, if you know what a I mean)。 But yeah, to me the scenes that Legosi and Louis share are so precious。 I can tell the respect, admiration (can I add devotion?) they have for each other and that warms my stone-col 4。5/ starsI'm not sure about Legosi's decision to drop out of school。 However, it's pretty entertaining and interesting seeing him explore the outside world。I like his friendship with the newest introduced character, Sebun, and the reunion with his grandpa Gosha (who hasn't lost the touch, if you know what a I mean)。 But yeah, to me the scenes that Legosi and Louis share are so precious。 I can tell the respect, admiration (can I add devotion?) they have for each other and that warms my stone-cold heart。Expecting the bromance haha 。。。more

They're an inverse Haru/Legosi!-Legoshi's life is going。。。 places*He's got a criminal record from Louis allowing him to eat his 4 foot to replenish his strength mid-Riz battle and when his lawyer arrives, telling of the restrictions/hardships he'll now face, he's pretty chill about them: finding the bright side in the difficulties of getting a job in herbivore owned businesses, having his university choices slimmed down, but the one that causes all the sunshine to subside is when he's told he cannot marry a herbivore。 Poor wolf literally falls over backwards in the middle of a crowded restaurant。*He drops out of school。 I mean, I'm sure he would get stares/questioned about the case, but wouldn't the law protect a minor? Then again, he'd probably be made an example of by Cherryton, therefore furthering discrimination。*Legoshi also reunites with his estranged grandfather, Gosha, who is a komodo dragon。 This means Legoshi 1/4 hybrid, shedding light on his attraction to Haru (interspecies romance runs in the family)。 But since his grandmother and mom aren't around, I expect it ended tragically。 Oh, can we please get his record expunged so he can marry Haru and in turn, inspire Juno and Louis to step up and be brave as well? I need the line "I like tragedies" to be just that。 A line。 Honestly, watching his grandfather bow to continued discrimination and how the notion "that's just how it is" was ingrained in Legoshi's mind at such a young age (we get illustrations that show Legoshi having to play by himself in hose filled kiddie pool instead of a public one because Gosha was his sole guardian and having the rule that the two of them must sit in the back booths to avoid dirty looks) broke my heart。But in his standing up in the restaurant, taking down Tem's killer, and his ongoing romance with Haru (despite the all the struggles it entails), we find reason to remain hopeful。 That all the sacrifice and defying arbitrary rules will reap benefits beyond becoming a BEASTAR。 I know Paru Itagaki wants this to end after twenty something volumes, and I'm fine with that。 Just give me those two couple HEA's without a single loose end and I'll be satisfied。 。。。more

I thought I might be losing my interest in this series but this newest volume is back with all the stuff I love。 The backstories of the Beastar Yafya and Legoshi's grandpa Gosha were great (Yafya present-day and in the flashback reminded me of Seabiscuit from the Netlfix series Bojack Horseman XD)。 Also loved seeing how Legoshi and Louis are getting on after the battle with Riz and more details on the discrimination between herbivores and carnivores。 Hoping to see more of the relationship betwee I thought I might be losing my interest in this series but this newest volume is back with all the stuff I love。 The backstories of the Beastar Yafya and Legoshi's grandpa Gosha were great (Yafya present-day and in the flashback reminded me of Seabiscuit from the Netlfix series Bojack Horseman XD)。 Also loved seeing how Legoshi and Louis are getting on after the battle with Riz and more details on the discrimination between herbivores and carnivores。 Hoping to see more of the relationship between the sheep Sebun and Legoshi as well or just more of her in general。 。。。more

3。5 star。 Of course my favorite aspect of this manga is Legosi and Haru。 Their relationship is crazy complex and I want to see where is goes。 But the story contradicts itself an awful lot。 It's honestly getting too annoying and I'm hoping it has to do with translation errors。 I mean like Legosi's grandfather is a pacifist and then 2 seconds later he is spilling everyones blood。 Another example is instead of calling the cops Legosi fights this bad guy and then does something else really crazy I d 3。5 star。 Of course my favorite aspect of this manga is Legosi and Haru。 Their relationship is crazy complex and I want to see where is goes。 But the story contradicts itself an awful lot。 It's honestly getting too annoying and I'm hoping it has to do with translation errors。 I mean like Legosi's grandfather is a pacifist and then 2 seconds later he is spilling everyones blood。 Another example is instead of calling the cops Legosi fights this bad guy and then does something else really crazy I didn't think he believed in and then of course the fight was for nothing because the cops show up anyway。 I think my mind melted after that chapter。 I am really enjoying the complications that come with all the different species though。 It's kind of funny to realize that if a leopard was a humanoid and wore clothes they would all prefer plain colors because they have designs already on their skin。 So every knew chapter comes with new understandings and I find it very interesting。I have a lot more gripes I think than I do praises。 It's just that I love the main characters so much but sometimes one of them will be put into that background so long that I'm not sure they are apart of the story anymore。 Haru is the main essential for many many moons then she is gone and it doesn't seem like anyone notices or cares and then bam out of no where she is essential again。I really just reading now to experience more scenes with them two together。 They main story is getting so crazy and it's not really relatable and often doesn't make since to me。 。。。more

I'm a bit sad about Legosi dropping out of school and distancing himself from Haru-chan。 This manga series could be studied in the perspective of vegetarianism and veganism, but also of segregation/interracial relationships。 That's probably why I like it so much to be honest。 Cool ending with Legosi's grandpa and his punch-fighting "pacifism" haha。 I'm a bit sad about Legosi dropping out of school and distancing himself from Haru-chan。 This manga series could be studied in the perspective of vegetarianism and veganism, but also of segregation/interracial relationships。 That's probably why I like it so much to be honest。 Cool ending with Legosi's grandpa and his punch-fighting "pacifism" haha。 。。。more

These are so easy to read quickly, though I suspect I rush through them looking to see what happens with the specific plots I want to follow。 I really enjoyed seeing the impact the resolution of Tem’s murder case had on Legosi’s life。 I was glad it wasn’t as simple as “he explained what happened and gotten in as little trouble as possible” as happens with a lot of Shōnen manga when the protagonist gets justice for others。 I appreciated there were more serious ramifications for Legosi, but that t These are so easy to read quickly, though I suspect I rush through them looking to see what happens with the specific plots I want to follow。 I really enjoyed seeing the impact the resolution of Tem’s murder case had on Legosi’s life。 I was glad it wasn’t as simple as “he explained what happened and gotten in as little trouble as possible” as happens with a lot of Shōnen manga when the protagonist gets justice for others。 I appreciated there were more serious ramifications for Legosi, but that the story still managed to balance that out with other aspects of the characters’ ongoing lives。 A “world doesn’t stop for this incident”, “nobody lives in a vacuum” approach is consistent and I like that。 I’m also a sucker for any story that brings grandpa’s in as significant characters, there’s that as well。 。。。more
