I really enjoyed reading through this book。 It shined a light on the historical story of the old testament that I had unfortunately neglected。 There were a couple theological principles that I believe are presented in a watered down way, but I understand that the main audience of this book is for those of very little to no experience with the Bible。 I would recommend this book to people with little to expansive knowledge of The Word of God, and it helped me have a rejuvenated desire to read and I really enjoyed reading through this book。 It shined a light on the historical story of the old testament that I had unfortunately neglected。 There were a couple theological principles that I believe are presented in a watered down way, but I understand that the main audience of this book is for those of very little to no experience with the Bible。 I would recommend this book to people with little to expansive knowledge of The Word of God, and it helped me have a rejuvenated desire to read and study the word more deeply。 。。。more

I stumbled upon this book while perusing Barnes & Noble。 I was instantly fascinated。 Recommended it to my church’s youth minister who began studying it with his youth group。 Also recommended it to our church’s outreach Munster and he started a small group to read and study it together! Every Christian should read and learn the information presented using tools from this book。 It is genius!

This book started out great。 I learned the basics of the Bible, the differences in the books, the geography, etc。 but the end was a bit lackluster。 For example, one chapter was going to go over distinctiveness of Christianity and what it had in common and differences with other common religions。 The takeaway points were that Christianity had similarities and differences with other religions。 I mean, common sense 🤦🏼‍♀️。 I would like more meat now, but for a basic overview/introduction to the Bibl This book started out great。 I learned the basics of the Bible, the differences in the books, the geography, etc。 but the end was a bit lackluster。 For example, one chapter was going to go over distinctiveness of Christianity and what it had in common and differences with other common religions。 The takeaway points were that Christianity had similarities and differences with other religions。 I mean, common sense 🤦🏼‍♀️。 I would like more meat now, but for a basic overview/introduction to the Bible, this one is easy to follow and understand。 。。。more

30 Days to Understanding the Bible – Max Anders [REVIEW]I began the study 30 Days to Understanding the Bible on September 14th and concluded on October 25th。This virtual study was sponsored by Bible Gateway。 Each Monday there was a 15-20 minute video from the author, Max Anders, that kick started the rest of the lessons for the week。I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and the methodology that Anders uses to commit the geography and history to memory。 I have always been fascinated with how the Old 30 Days to Understanding the Bible – Max Anders [REVIEW]I began the study 30 Days to Understanding the Bible on September 14th and concluded on October 25th。This virtual study was sponsored by Bible Gateway。 Each Monday there was a 15-20 minute video from the author, Max Anders, that kick started the rest of the lessons for the week。I thoroughly enjoyed the teaching and the methodology that Anders uses to commit the geography and history to memory。 I have always been fascinated with how the Old Testament and New Testament are woven together to create the story of human salvation through Christ。When I first heard about this study I was intrigued by the fact that I was going to get a deeper understanding of the whole Bible by spending just 15 minutes a day for 30 days。 Once I enrolled I found out that it is in fact a 6 week study。 I don’t think the title was meant to be deceptive。 Let me explain。If you just read the text or the study guide (& ignored the exercises) you could easily complete one of them by spending 15 minutes a day for 30 days。 However, if you do the study as presented below you will spend much more than 15 minutes a day for 30 days。Monday – Watch the 15-20 video and add your notes to the outline in the Study Guide。 Then answer the discussion questions with your small group。 This can easily take an hourTuesday – Read the assigned chapters in the main text (the yellow book) as well as completing the reviews and self tests in each chapter。 To do a thorough job you need at least 90 minutes to complete this。Wednesday – Sunday complete the daily lessons (15-30 minutes each)If all you are doing is the 30 daily lessons in the study guide and not trying to fully grasp the material you could probably complete the course in 15 minutes a day (15 minutes x 30 days = 450 minutes/7。5 hours of study) BUT if you do the study the way it is described above it will take much more than 15 minutes a day for 30 days。 (Video 15-20 minutes + discussion 45 minutes + assigned reading and exercises 90 minutes + 5 days of daily study 15-30 minutes) x 6 weeks = more than 1400 minutes/23 hours of study)。Had I know how much time that it was going to take I probably would not have chosen to do this study when I did。Please do not misunderstand me, I think this is a wonderful resource to learn more about the structure and content of the Bible。 Knowing the basic geography is vital to visualizing the places and the time it took to travel between them。 The timeline of the Old Testament is not sequential, the books in fact overlap more than most people realize。 There are sections on the history of Israel as well as the history of The Church。 The final two sections deal exclusively with the great doctrines。I do think however that this would be much better as one volume instead of two。 I spent too much time flipping back and forth between them。http://mylifeinourfathersworld。com/20。。。#BGBG2 #BibleGatewayPartner #30DaystoUnderstandingtheBible #MaxAnders 。。。more

I read this in a book club。 The readers who had very little exposure to the Bible LOVED it and there is nothing to specifically criticize。。。but I would say if you would describe your understanding of the Bible as comfortable or above, this is not the read for you。

I finished the OT portion then took a several month break before finishing NT。 I did not complete the additional chapters in the back。 Found this book a helpful overview, and it helped solidly some eras/characters to memory。

This is a great resource for someone who feels intimidated by the Bible, whether you’re a new believer or have been for a while。 It’s a helpful resource that’s organized like a workbook。 Easily worked through in just a few minutes per day。

If somebody thinks “the time has come for me to really read and understand the Bible”, this is the book to start with。 It provides a great snapshot of the entire Old and New Testament, and with this understanding, reading the Bible will be much more interesting and meaningful, and importantly, enjoyable。 I’ve been a serious student of the Bible for more than 20 years and it still brought me new and useful insights。

Very good high level outline and summary of the Bible。 Perfect for my rudimentary Biblical knowledge。 Enjoyed learning more about Biblical geography and the timeline of when the various books were written。 Would recommend for anyone intimidated by the Bible or looking for a place to start。

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK When I first saw this title I was like some other people, I thought there is no way to understand the Bible in 30 days。 But as I started looking through the book, and all of the different features there, I begin to understand a little better where this author was coming from。 And as I started going through the chapters, the different exercises in each chapter, my understanding of my Bible begin to come together and make a difference。 Ive taken a few pictures to show you MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK When I first saw this title I was like some other people, I thought there is no way to understand the Bible in 30 days。 But as I started looking through the book, and all of the different features there, I begin to understand a little better where this author was coming from。 And as I started going through the chapters, the different exercises in each chapter, my understanding of my Bible begin to come together and make a difference。 Ive taken a few pictures to show you some of the different things that’s in this book, things that really helped me a lot。And I am not finished with this book。 I went through it pretty fast to do this review, but I plan to make it a Bible study shortly and go through it taking it much slower。 There is so much in this one book。 And since there over 500,000 copies in print, well that tells you something! I wish there was some way I could get this book into the hands and homes of every Christian, as well as everyone that wants to understand their Bibles better。 I highly recommend this book, 30 Days to Understanding the Bible, by Max Anders。I received this book from FlyBy Productions to read and review。 I was not required to write a positive review。 The opinions I have expressed are my own。 I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55。 。。。more

30 Days to Understanding the Bible by Max Anders promises to help you understand the Bible in 15 minutes a day。 I can honestly say, Mr。 Anders’s book does just that。 The book is divided in sections that make it possible to study/read in 15 minutes a day。 The way that Mr。 Anders writes is great in that he breaks down key points in understandable terms。 I personally couldn’t put this book down; once I started learning I could not stop turning these pages。 In between sections, Mr。 Anders developed 30 Days to Understanding the Bible by Max Anders promises to help you understand the Bible in 15 minutes a day。 I can honestly say, Mr。 Anders’s book does just that。 The book is divided in sections that make it possible to study/read in 15 minutes a day。 The way that Mr。 Anders writes is great in that he breaks down key points in understandable terms。 I personally couldn’t put this book down; once I started learning I could not stop turning these pages。 In between sections, Mr。 Anders developed mini-reviews that allow the reader to go over the material and at the end of each lesson there is a self-test for the reader to test their knowledge of the chapter just read。 I found these to be very helpful。In sum, 30 Days to Understanding the Bible is highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible。 This book will lead you through the Books of the Bible and understanding the Word。 Happy Reading!“Disclosure (in accordance with the FTC’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”): I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post。 。。。more

I became a Christian 5 years ago and I still haven’t read the Bible all the way through which meant I was confused a lot when certain things were mentioned at Church or in books or blog posts。 I still fully intend to get through the Bible of course and then read parts of it over again。 But in the meantime, I want to have an overview of the Bible and what all of it contains。How It’s to Be Used30 Days to Understand the Bible is designed to be used for 15 minutes a day for 30 days。 I read it in 2。5 I became a Christian 5 years ago and I still haven’t read the Bible all the way through which meant I was confused a lot when certain things were mentioned at Church or in books or blog posts。 I still fully intend to get through the Bible of course and then read parts of it over again。 But in the meantime, I want to have an overview of the Bible and what all of it contains。How It’s to Be Used30 Days to Understand the Bible is designed to be used for 15 minutes a day for 30 days。 I read it in 2。5 days because I prefer to get through books fast。 I feel confident that I can say though that it would work well using as designed。 If you don’t have a lot of time to read or prefer the slower pace, 15 minutes a day would work just fine。The authors are by no means telling you to use this book in place of the Bible, just to use it to get an understanding of how the Bible is laid out, what the different books are about (some are historical, some poetical, some prophetical) and what the basic story is that is covered in the Bible。 I feel like knowing this will make my reading so much more productive。 It’s like reading the summary of a book before you read it。 I MUST read the summary before reading the book or I feel lost。 With a large book such as the Bible that can be confusing at times, I think it’s a must too。 I wish I found this book 5 years ago!
