I enjoyed this book。 It reminds us to make use of everything and to be proud of ourselves for creativity as well as something doesn't have to be picture perfect in order to be exceptional。 I enjoyed this book。 It reminds us to make use of everything and to be proud of ourselves for creativity as well as something doesn't have to be picture perfect in order to be exceptional。 。。。more

It is a simple story that can be a good guiding and motivating book for small children。 I love how the journey the main character goes on trying to create the perfect thing she visualizes, and how she realizes all her mistakes along the way were something others were looking for。 This is a great book to read to kids about mistakes!

Have you ever discovered a new purpose for an item? Well in this book a young girl decides to turn some trash into something much more。 At first she does not see the value in some things but through the book her opinion changes。 I would recommend this science fiction book for k-4。 A teacher could incorporate this book into the classroom when doing a science activity。 In this activity the teacher would read aloud the book to students then give them the opportunity to try to turn their own trash i Have you ever discovered a new purpose for an item? Grade Level: 3rd Genre: Contemporary Realistic This book is so adorable and the pictures are a perfect match to the story line。 It is about a girl who wants to make the most magnificent thing, she decides that if she wants it done right she has to do it herself。 So her and her dog set off to make the perfect machine。

This story included a character with an exceptionality。 Throughout the book the girl had a dog , and whenever she would get frustrated she would get very mad。To which i believe the dog was there for a support animal。 Because he was refereed to as an assistant。

Micaiah

I like this book because it explains that we cannot give up when things get hard。 I like that it has the girl get frustrated at her experiment that did not work。 It shows that not everything is correct the first time。 8/10 recommend

I don’t suppose anyone would say to a kid anymore, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again。”。 This book is a much cuter way to say it anyway!

I would use this book in a kindergarten class when the students are just arriving on the first day of school。 This book would be great to use because many students may be feeling so many emotions because they are leaving their parents for the first time。 In this book, the main character is feeling so many emotions。 For this lesson, I would let the students know that it is okay to feel emotions and that a classroom is a safe place for them。 I would give them a piece of paper that says "on the fir I would use this book in a kindergarten class when the students are just arriving on the first day of school。 This book would be great to use because many students may be feeling so many emotions because they are leaving their parents for the first time。 In this book, the main character is feeling so many emotions。 For this lesson, I would let the students know that it is okay to feel emotions and that a classroom is a safe place for them。 I would give them a piece of paper that says "on the first day of school I am feeling。。。" One picture is going to be "happy", another is going to be "sad", and another is going to be "scared"。 Students will fill this out so I can understand where their emotions are。 In the illustrations, the author uses continuous narration to tell the story。 The author also uses a frame around different illustrations as well。 The illustrator uses a significant amount of lines。 The illustrator uses simple colors such as blues and reds。 The main character's shirt is red and that is the color that stands out most to the reader。 Mostly the other illustrations are just black outlines of the object。 I really enjoyed the simplicity of the book。 As an educator, I think that it is important that the students know it is ok to feel emotion。 Giving students ways they can cope with their negative emotions is important。 Such as feeling angry or frustrated and lashing out。 Giving students these tools can help them in the long run and in their future。 。。。more

Love this story of persistence and working through frustration and anger when things do not go as you want them。 I read this book after seeing it recommended on Mighty Girls。 The site indicated this book is especially good for girls, who are often told they are smart。。。or not。。。but they often don't receive the encouragement to keep working at something。 Whereas boys often get the message to "try harder" or "try again"。 Girls need to learn to try harder or try again or work harder too; at some po Love this story of persistence and working through frustration and anger when things do not go as you want them。 I read this book after seeing it recommended on Mighty Girls。 The site indicated this book is especially good for girls, who are often told they are smart。。。or not。。。but they often don't receive the encouragement to keep working at something。 Whereas boys often get the message to "try harder" or "try again"。 Girls need to learn to try harder or try again or work harder too; at some point, smart only gets you so far。Also, one of my key complaints about picture books is they often end abruptly, or the ending feels rushed, or disconnected in some way。 The ending to this book was a perfect way to bring this story together。 Hurray! 。。。more

Beautiful book。 Perfect for children (and adults)。 A book that shows a way to understand how things get better if you just keep on trying, and that if you take a break its ok as well。

A little girl and her canine assistant want to make the most magnificent but the end result does not come out the way that they want it to be。 She then gives up even though her pet told her not to。 After they go on a walk and talk about the situation and she turns around and knows that she can do it。

This read aloud book is a pretty lengthy book about a girl who tries and tries。 This book teaches kids that even through error and trial, it always works out! The book also uses a pretty big word that most kids do not use。 “Magnificent” is a word students can add to their vocabulary! This is more of a second or third grade level, since it is pretty lengthy!

I don’t remember who/where recommended this book to me, but I wrote it down to look for at our library, and I’m so glad I found it。 I read it with my 7year old son, and we both loved it。 Any book with an animal sidekick is usually a winner, but this one has a great message as well, especially for kids who struggle with motivation and perseverance。

This book is super cute! Its very simple illustrations still provide excellent images that perfectly complete the book。 It is a story of a little girl who takes her idea, brainstorms, and brings it to life through many trials and experimentation。 A good book to teach about perseverance and determination!
