Summary

Same format/style as The Hunting Party, but still a fun whodunnit。

4。75 stars。 Wow! I went out of my comfort zone reading this book, I’m a baby when it comes to thrillers。 But I could not put this book down。

3 and a half stars Took a good while to get started。The first 200 pages were just background information and took me a few days to get through but I finished the last bit really fast。 I liked the ending ,my mouth stood open the whole time。

Loved the talented audio reader! It was a very entertaining book! Great character development! A bit smutty haha

Fine, regular, meh。 Things I liked: the POV switching (usually this bothers me, but I thought it was done well here!); the moody setting and atmosphere; the genre (I love a mystery thriller); that I didn't like the characters (for some that makes it hard to read, but in this case it added to the vibe); the twist(s)Things I did not like: gratuitous language and sexual content; the actual writing; the cardboard cast of characters that filled out the book beyond the main five whose POV we read Fine, regular, meh。 Things I liked: the POV switching (usually this bothers me, but I thought it was done well here!); the moody setting and atmosphere; the genre (I love a mystery thriller); that I didn't like the characters (for some that makes it hard to read, but in this case it added to the vibe); the twist(s)Things I did not like: gratuitous language and sexual content; the actual writing; the cardboard cast of characters that filled out the book beyond the main five whose POV we read 。。。more

Good thriller!

3。5 stars。 This was kinda slow in the beginning but I think necessary to build up the characters。 Once the first connection was made (which was the one twist I didn’t predict) it picked up and the last quarter of the book was a great roller coaster ride。 I did predict most of the twists but still an enjoyable read。

This had so many great reviews that I couldn't wait to read it; however, what I found was it wasn't that great。 I thought that the first 100 / 200 pages went very slow。 I did like the twists and turns the plot took at the end。 This had so many great reviews that I couldn't wait to read it; however, what I found was it wasn't that great。 I thought that the first 100 / 200 pages went very slow。 I did like the twists and turns the plot took at the end。 。。。more

3。5 stars。 Entertaining, however a few too many coincidences for my liking。 But the writing was fun and it was a good, quick read。

I read this in a day and I thoroughly enjoyed it。 The setting was amazing; beautiful, creepy, ominous and fantastical all at once。 I loved the nods Irish folklore and traditions as well。 Each character was unique and very real。 They reminded you of people you know, they were faulted but interesting and it was these convincing characters that carried the story forward。 You really felt for each of the characters, and as they discovered each others' secrets, I was heartbroken, angry and sad with th I read this in a day and I thoroughly enjoyed it。 The setting was amazing; beautiful, creepy, ominous and fantastical all at once。 I loved the nods Irish folklore and traditions as well。 Each character was unique and very real。 They reminded you of people you know, they were faulted but interesting and it was these convincing characters that carried the story forward。 You really felt for each of the characters, and as they discovered each others' secrets, I was heartbroken, angry and sad with them。 The story itself was so well-told, flashing from the present to the days leading up to the murder。 Once you hit the middle of the book, there was no turning back (and no putting it down!)。 I really appreciated that through this wonderfully well-thought-out storytelling, there were hits of beautiful descriptive prose。 The wedding backdrop was the perfect setting for these events to unfold, and I was gripped right from the beginning。 Great weekend read, perfect to cozy up with on a rainy day。 。。。more

Geniously written。

Great read BUT I had a totally different outcome to this story in my head。 I wanted to rewrite the ending。

I liked this book, but I didn't love it。 The plot was super intriguing, but the book mostly revolved around the characters。 And I didn't love any of the characters very much。 It was an intentional choice, the characters were supposed to be flawed, but it was hard to root for any of them when their problems were so on display。 Overall a solid 3 stars。 I liked this book, but I didn't love it。 The plot was super intriguing, but the book mostly revolved around the characters。 And I didn't love any of the characters very much。 It was an intentional choice, the characters were supposed to be flawed, but it was hard to root for any of them when their problems were so on display。 Overall a solid 3 stars。 。。。more

So, if you have read The Hunting Party this is。。。 exactly the same。。。Multiple narrators, who have all been invited to reunite at a remote location for a big event。。。 No one, not even the venue staff themselves, is who they seem and secrets and past betrayals all come to the surface。 There is a murder, but the victim and the murderer remain a mystery until the dramatic climax in the final pages。That being said, I found The Hunting Party a quick and engaging read and The Guest List was another eas So, if you have read The Hunting Party this is。。。 exactly the same。。。Multiple narrators, who have all been invited to reunite at a remote location for a big event。。。 No one, not even the venue staff themselves, is who they seem and secrets and past betrayals all come to the surface。 There is a murder, but the victim and the murderer remain a mystery until the dramatic climax in the final pages。That being said, I found The Hunting Party a quick and engaging read and The Guest List was another easy book to get - through curled up with a hot chocolate in the evening。Can't complain。 。。。more

3。5 it is。This one is a slightly bizzare, not meaning in an entirely bad way but by the time you finish you have mixed feelings about it。 Don't get me wrong, it has all the makings of a good thriller mystery novel but it ends on a rather grim note。 A little too dark for my liking。 It is fast paced, keeps you hooked, but the mystery doesn't last till the very end, it is kind of easy to deduce who the perpetrator is beyond a certain point。 Every character has a dark secret, & there are quite a few 3。5 it is。This one is a slightly bizzare, not meaning in an entirely bad way but by the time you finish you have mixed feelings about it。 Don't get me wrong, it has all the makings of a good thriller mystery novel but it ends on a rather grim note。 A little too dark for my liking。 It is fast paced, keeps you hooked, but the mystery doesn't last till the very end, it is kind of easy to deduce who the perpetrator is beyond a certain point。 Every character has a dark secret, & there are quite a few characters gathered for a wedding。 Somehow everything is linked (can't say no more) which is what left me a little baffled & made the plot less believable。 Yes it is fiction, but what happens in the novel seemed a bit too far-fetched 。 And to me this was the biggest shortcoming of this book。 If you are looking to have a quick read, mystery novels gets you going, you could pick it up but otherwise not a big of a deal。 。。。more

3。5 starsI’m not the biggest mystery person and honestlyI only read this for the book club at my work。 But it was interesting and kept me wanting to read。 I didn’t actually figure it out until the very end but I liked the different lines that all came together。

Denne boka er helt klart mest drama og lite krim。 Det er også ganske så usannsynlig hvordan alt henger sammen。 Slutten blir derfor litt teit! Men frem til slutten er det helt ok underholdning。

Thumbs up to the manner of story telling。 We get to experience the plot through multiple vantage points of characters who have their own story to tell。 The unravelling secrets, internal conflicts and the overall psychology at play was executed quite well。However, the plot itself wasn't as refreshing as I had expected it to be。。 Overall a good read but not memorable。 Thumbs up to the manner of story telling。 We get to experience the plot through multiple vantage points of characters who have their own story to tell。 The unravelling secrets, internal conflicts and the overall psychology at play was executed quite well。However, the plot itself wasn't as refreshing as I had expected it to be。。 Overall a good read but not memorable。 。。。more
