Summary

Based on the classic horror manga Parasyte by Hitoshi Iwaaki!

OF PARASITES AND MEN

They look like us。 They feed on us。 They’re parasites – alien creatures with one directive: take human form via a host and destroy the human race from within。 First seen in Hiroshi Iwaaki’s classic science fiction horror manga Parasyte, these terrifying creatures are revisited and reinvented in 12 brand-new stories drawn by some of today’s greatest shonen and seinen manga artists。 But no matter who they choose as their hosts – from militia men to the seemingly sweet elderly – one thing is for certain: no one is safe from the parasites…

Not quite Parasyte but still worth picking up if you are taking a break from re-reading the original series。

The second tribute based on the classic(I guess it could be consider classic by now in manga terms) work of Parasyte by Hitoshi Iwaaki。 I should warn readers that if you have not read the original books that Parasyte has a theme revolving around entities possessing hosts and devouring the base creature's species (in most cases humans) so if the though of humans being murdered or eaten makes you uneasy then by all means avoid this series although you will be missing a story questioning who the re The second tribute based on the classic(I guess it could be consider classic by now in manga terms) work of Parasyte by Hitoshi Iwaaki。 I should warn readers that if you have not read the original books that Parasyte has a theme revolving around entities possessing hosts and devouring the base creature's species (in most cases humans) so if the though of humans being murdered or eaten makes you uneasy then by all means avoid this series although you will be missing a story questioning who the real monsters are。Included in this volume you can find twelve short stories from different mangaka to show their affection to the original work in their own ways(so you can get mad at stories or hate them if you want but remember differences of opinion and how people show respect is different from person to person。) For me as soon as I saw Hiro Mashima did a story it was the first one I opened up being a big fan of Fairy Tail and had a good chuckle at the decidedly more light-hearted take on the Parasyte franchise before reading the rest in order。 I am sure whoever reads this volume will find their own favorites too。 :)As for a favorite moment I kinda like the old man in "Eat it Tonight, Too" who is so obsessed with eating healthy that he forgets to grow older at times and even shows his parasyte ability to his grandson just to get an excited young man asking him how he did that but not deciding to eat him。 :) 。。。more

An omnibus manga based on Parasyte by 12 different authors。 Like other Japanese manga I have read, this book opens the opposite way that we are used to。 As with omnibus books, there are stories in it which I like and ones which I didn't。 I liked the more realistic ones such as The Stranger and The Perfect Soldier and wished they were long and didn't really enjoy ones like the first one such as Through Yura's Gate, which I thought was too long and didn't pack a good story。 Personal preference is An omnibus manga based on Parasyte by 12 different authors。 Like other Japanese manga I have read, this book opens the opposite way that we are used to。 As with omnibus books, there are stories in it which I like and ones which I didn't。 I liked the more realistic ones such as The Stranger and The Perfect Soldier and wished they were long and didn't really enjoy ones like the first one such as Through Yura's Gate, which I thought was too long and didn't pack a good story。 Personal preference is that I like the comics which are easy to read and follow (as opposed to highly stylized or fantastically drawn ones)。 This is definitely a Your Mileage May Vary omnibus。 I got this as a free ARC。 。。。more
