What a load of slapstick dribble!!! Bought this book for unknown reason as I’m not even a fan of David Walliams humour! No, I’m not the target audience but I’ve read and loved many children’s books but not this one! Ending was over quicker than the story about the nanny’s eggy-wegg!!! Immature, basic and boring!

Read on the recommendation of my daughter。 A huge David Walliams fan, she was a bit surprised by this one as it differs from his usual fare。 The humor, expressive typeface, and Raj are all still there, but we cross from the realm of the unlikely to the fantastical。 Many of Walliams readers will not yet have encountered much dystopian literature (although they likely soon will be)。 It's not too far a leap given his natural darkness, but it's not an entirely comfortable fit for him either。 An inte Read on the recommendation of my daughter。 A huge David Walliams fan, she was a bit surprised by this one as it differs from his usual fare。 The humor, expressive typeface, and Raj are all still there, but we cross from the realm of the unlikely to the fantastical。 Many of Walliams readers will not yet have encountered much dystopian literature (although they likely soon will be)。 It's not too far a leap given his natural darkness, but it's not an entirely comfortable fit for him either。 An interesting experiment。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The only reason I would give this a three and not a four is because this book doesn't take too many risks。 There are times that a character put themselves in grave danger and when they don't return the characters and the reader thinks they are dead, but in some miracle they lived。 I would like it if David Williams kept the characters dead。 Agatha is the best example for this。 We think she is dead and we will not be surprised that she died, she put her self in a dangerous situation。 On more compl The only reason I would give this a three and not a four is because this book doesn't take too many risks。 There are times that a character put themselves in grave danger and when they don't return the characters and the reader thinks they are dead, but in some miracle they lived。 I would like it if David Williams kept the characters dead。 Agatha is the best example for this。 We think she is dead and we will not be surprised that she died, she put her self in a dangerous situation。 On more complain I have about this book is that they don't focus on the beasts a lot。 This is a matter of opinion, but that was the original reason I picked up the book on the first place。 Before this was struggling with David Williams, I DNFed the Midnight Gang several times and I gave Grandpa's Great Escape a 2/5 stars。 When I heard he was including fanatical elements to his writing I was really excited to read this book。 Although I have complains I loved this book。 The characters wee amazing, the plot was complex and the little we got of the beasts were masterfully done in my opinion。 This made me want to pick up more of his。 books and I am really excited about want I will discover。 。。。more

For those who think that this book is too dark, see the horror films your kids are watching! I'm 13 and I dont scare easily I read this early and I was amazed, it was so different and great。 It doesn't promote violence, as one person said。 I like it when weak characters rule。Astor For those who think that this book is too dark, see the horror films your kids are watching! I have to say although I enjoyed this book at parts, it has been my least favourite David Walliams book, overall it was a little disappointing and felt sort of rushed! I would still say Walliams is one of my favourite authors though and I feel he always will be。

Amazing book but a small bit sad

I love how David Walliams touches hard situations from people such as, sacrifice, death and anxiety while making the story heartfelt and soft。

This is one of the books which is set in the future。 I find those books really intriguing。 Because then I can see into what they think the future will be like。 But in this book, I couldn't see that。 It's not like it's badly written, it's great。 The reason I can't see into David Walliams' head is that what he has written is virtually impossible。 It involves griffins。 The mythical beast and monster。 I find this very original and a result of lots of research (that's my guess) But the main thing, th This is one of the books which is set in the future。 I find those books really intriguing。 Because then I can see into what they think the future will be like。 But in this book, I couldn't see that。 It's not like it's badly written, it's great。 The reason I can't see into David Walliams' head is that what he has written is virtually impossible。 It involves griffins。 The mythical beast and monster。 I find this very original and a result of lots of research (that's my guess) But the main thing, the book, is very--original-intriguing-can't put it down styleIt's a 5 star。 。。。more

This book, if you flick through it, is clearly aimed at young children, with the pictures and large print etc。 My son got it for Christmas from his grandpa and I started reading it to him recently。 I had to stop as it is completely inappropriate for his age (nearly 8)。 It is very dark and violent, and I was very disappointed。 It’s a pity as it had potential and my son was enjoying it, but I really feel the violence could be toned down a lot。 Alternatively, flesh it out a bit and aim it at a slig This book, if you flick through it, is clearly aimed at young children, with the pictures and large print etc。 My son got it for Christmas from his grandpa and I started reading it to him recently。 I had to stop as it is completely inappropriate for his age (nearly 8)。 It is very dark and violent, and I was very disappointed。 It’s a pity as it had potential and my son was enjoying it, but I really feel the violence could be toned down a lot。 Alternatively, flesh it out a bit and aim it at a slightly older audience。 In any case, put a warning to parents on the back cover about the content。 。。。more

We give the book 3:5 stars。 We enjoyed this book but felt that it dragged on a little bit in the middle - we got a bit bored in some parts。 The story is well written and had action and excitement / we just felt it could have been shorter。

Written by David Walliams, this book is a classic。 I loved the illustrations。 The best part of all was that they are so many twists and turns。Make sure to checkout my youtube book review。 https://youtu。be/HSijz_zlgb8 Written by David Walliams, this book is a classic。 I loved the illustrations。 The best part of all was that they are so many twists and turns。Make sure to checkout my youtube book review。 https://youtu。be/HSijz_zlgb8 。。。more

Ahhh! Another David Walliams book。 I already know that this is also going to be one of my most favourite books of 2021。 Oh how wrong I was。 I expected a lot more from David Walliams and this book。 I went into this book thinking about the amazing adventure Mr。 Walliams had written for us。 I mean, I did like this book but the thing was that I think the storyline was a bit to slow and basic。 It took a really long time to get to the plot of the story and most of the time when there wasn't a plot it Ahhh!
