Cute book。 The spreads are too busy for me, but its funny and silly and kids will really like it。

I thought this book was a super unique and funny way to help teach manners。 Growing up, I had read books like this and the characters and illustrations make these lessons so much easier to pass along。 The author did a great job using the otters as a representation of others and it made the ideas much more engaging and interesting。

My first impression of this book was that it was super cute。 I enjoyed the illustrations on the fly pages as well as the ones on the end pages。 I think the concept of this book is very smart and informational to younger students。 The moral of the book is to treat others the way that you want to be treated and I think they book does a good job at displaying that。 This book is a circular story because it ends the same way it started and made a full circle。 The spreads are very cute and well-illust My first impression of this book was that it was super cute。 I enjoyed the illustrations on the fly pages as well as the ones on the end pages。 I think the concept of this book is very smart and informational to younger students。 The moral of the book is to treat others the way that you want to be treated and I think they book does a good job at displaying that。 This book is a circular story because it ends the same way it started and made a full circle。 The spreads are very cute and well-illustrated, and the informal style made it that much more fun for the kids to read。 I really liked how the words flow with the pictures and are all over。 I think this book would be really good to read the first day of school to let your students know they need to treat others the way themselves to be treated。 I enjoyed this book a lot。 。。。more

This is a great circular story for children! The book had great color over 16 very colorful spreads and extremely diverse fly papers in both the beginning and end of the book。 The informal style of the book really brought its approach to children to life。 I throughly enjoyed how the text was so unique and emphasized exactly where it needed to be。 Overall, I really liked how the theme of this book was to teach children good manners。 Very cute!

A little rabbit has an otter family that moves in near him, and he has so many questions。 Like, are they friendly? Are we going to get along? The rabbit learns, though, to “treat otters the same way I’d want otters to treat me。” This book has a great theme, and cute and funny illustrations。

Liz

A catchy concept to teach the “golden rule。” Aligned nicely with lessons on treating our neighbors with respect。 There’s a fun video made from the book on EPIC。

This one was worth the wait。 I've had it on my to-read list for some time now as well as on hold with my library。 It's funny and teaches important lessons。 So good。 From now on, I will treat otters better。 I like Laurie Keller's work。 This one was worth the wait。 I've had it on my to-read list for some time now as well as on hold with my library。 It's funny and teaches important lessons。 So good。 From now on, I will treat otters better。 I like Laurie Keller's work。 。。。more

Do Unto Otters: A Book about Manners by Laurie Keller features a rabbit being afraid of how his new neighbors may be。 His issues are calmed as he learns more about them and realizes that new people are not bad; they're just misunderstood。 Do Unto Otters: A Book about Manners by Laurie Keller features a rabbit being afraid of how his new neighbors may be。 His issues are calmed as he learns more about them and realizes that new people are not bad; they're just misunderstood。 。。。more

Clever and funny - a big hit with our 3-year-old because of all the animals。

I love picture books that can introduce important concepts in a fun and funny way。 This one is successful in doing that。 Rabbit and the otters need to learn how to be good neighbors to each other, and the examples are funny and punny and will totally appeal to kids。

Katie Morrison

Cute but definitely not great for reading to a toddler (2。5) as some pages are a bit busy and the pun (“otter” vs。 “other”) is lost on her 😂

I really like this book and think it is a great way to teach young kids manners and the "golden rule"。 I also think it is great that it tells how to say "please", "thank you", and "excuse me" in 5 different languages other than English。 This makes it especially good to read to a class that may have ELL students so the other students can get a look at their language as well。 I really like this book and think it is a great way to teach young kids manners and the "golden rule"。 I also think it is great that it tells how to say "please", "thank you", and "excuse me" in 5 different languages other than English。 This makes it especially good to read to a class that may have ELL students so the other students can get a look at their language as well。 。。。more

A Rabbit gets a new family of otters as neighbors。 With the help of an owl, the rabbit thinks of all the ways he would want neighbors to treat him, so that he will know how to treat his neighbors, following the golden rule。 I think there were a lot of Good examples of how to follow the golden rule, but it was a little long。 Also the bee example of asking to not be stung please didn’t really sit well with me。 I really don’t like the illustrations, I didn’t know it was possible to draw such un-cut A Rabbit gets a new family of otters as neighbors。 With the help of an owl, the rabbit thinks of all the ways he would want neighbors to treat him, so that he will know how to treat his neighbors, following the golden rule。 I think there were a lot of Good examples of how to follow the golden rule, but it was a little long。 Also the bee example of asking to not be stung please didn’t really sit well with me。 I really don’t like the illustrations, I didn’t know it was possible to draw such un-cute otters。 My son (4) like the book a lot because he thought the bunny was cute。 。。。more

This is a very fun read and is a book I will read out loud to my future classroom。 This book is about manners but the author uses humor in his text while writing it so it doesn't feel like it is a lecture about all the good manners we should have。 A great message throughout the story is to treat others the way you want to be treated。 This is something I feel passionately about and really want to incorporate in my own classroom so this book is just perfect! the book is great for teaching kids about their manners。 The illustrations are eye catching for people to see。 The vocabulary is a bit difficult but still simple enough for children to understand。 I would use this book during the first month of school to talk about how to respect one another and when kids are acting mean to one another。

Great, colorful pictures but definitely not a good storytime book! The book was way too long and all over the place。

Do Unto Otters: A book about manners, is a delightful book and is great to read when discussing manners and how to treat others。 This book has a fun and silly way to discuss a serious topic。 The illustration is very detailed and the story plot is great for children to understand。

Due to this book being about manners, teachers can use this book in their kindergarten classroom to emphasize the Golden Rule; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"。 The teacher could take out the important words used in the book to explain and have the children demonstrate that word for examples to the class。 In addition, the teacher can have the children think of ideas of how they would want to be treated and write it down on the easel。 Due to this book being about manners, teachers can use this book in their kindergarten classroom to emphasize the Golden Rule; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"。 The teacher could take out the important words used in the book to explain and have the children demonstrate that word for examples to the class。 In addition, the teacher can have the children think of ideas of how they would want to be treated and write it down on the easel。 。。。more

I enjoy this book because it teaches children to treat others the way you'd want to be treated。 I'd use this book to talk about classroom expectations as well as the guidelines。 This book would be great to talk about behaviors in the classroom and how it can affect others。 I enjoy the playful humorousness of this book because it is fun to read and listen to。 I enjoy this book because it teaches children to treat others the way you'd want to be treated。 I'd use this book to talk about classroom expectations as well as the guidelines。 This book would be great to talk about behaviors in the classroom and how it can affect others。 I enjoy the playful humorousness of this book because it is fun to read and listen to。 。。。more

This book delivers as promised- it’s jam packed with essentials on manners and presents in a way that directs the young reader to use critical thinking skills on the topic。 Unique and crisp illustrations, with catchy font! Also enjoyed the humor and the few pages of 5 languages words! Great and one of those you can reread over the years when needed! ❤️

Funn looking creatures but a solid story, with some good lessons!
