A Great introduction to finances for individuals , moreover this book includes wise advices that could be applied not only in finances but also to all life decisions, reading this books gives a good understanding of the savings and investment principles which gives so much help to anyone with no prior knowledge of finances, however, I found some parts of it difficult to understand because of its old language but at the end of each chapter the writer summarizes the wisdom learned from it。 Overall A Great introduction to finances for individuals , moreover this book includes wise advices that could be applied not only in finances but also to all life decisions, reading this books gives a good understanding of the savings and investment principles which gives so much help to anyone with no prior knowledge of finances, however, I found some parts of it difficult to understand because of its old language but at the end of each chapter the writer summarizes the wisdom learned from it。 Overall, it is a very helpful book recommended to anyone wants to be wise with money 。。。more

I will rate it as 3 star coz first of all these book based on financial planning ok, that's not a problem, but this is the basic financial fact which is known by almost everyone。 That is saving, investment, etc。 Old time finance planning which may not be effective at current time or may be everybody knows and already applied it。 I will rate it as 3 star coz first of all these book based on financial planning ok, that's not a problem, but this is the basic financial fact which is known by almost everyone。 That is saving, investment, etc。 Old time finance planning which may not be effective at current time or may be everybody knows and already applied it。 。。。more

Good Read on personal financesAn exciting book on how to handle personal finances using fiction should have been better if the author used standard English。

Some would say that reading this book is easy-peasy。 That might be true, however。。。 spending money is a matter of, well, principles。How much money you save, how do you manage your debt, how do you invest, how do you find financial freedom? Reads like you'd expect。 Fictional narrative following a protagonist learning a set of prescribed "rules" from a mythically intelligent mentor that he happens to have almost exclusive access to。 Well, almost。 There are a few different characters all learning from this mentor, or his son, at different points in history。Probably very insightful for a first read in this field。 Nothing terribly new if you've read a lot of personal finance stuff。 The most interesting chapter to me was probably the on Reads like you'd expect。 Fictional narrative following a protagonist learning a set of prescribed "rules" from a mythically intelligent mentor that he happens to have almost exclusive access to。 Well, almost。 There are a few different characters all learning from this mentor, or his son, at different points in history。Probably very insightful for a first read in this field。 Nothing terribly new if you've read a lot of personal finance stuff。 The most interesting chapter to me was probably the one about procrastinion killing business opportunities。 That doesn't get covered often and is something I'm struggling with right now。 。。。more

It brings out the simple notion of saving 10% of your income and investing it and strongly motivates it, also discussing briefly about what sort of investments this 10% should go into, all in an ancient Babylonian context。Short but Excellent readEach chapter is unique with respect to story tellingExcellent and simple concepts, all well motivated

If you don't know this common knowledge on personal finance management and still want to read the book, pick a summary of this book, save your time and money。 Not recommended! 。。。more

Enjoyable and quick read。 Liked the moral of the story。 Difficult to read at times because of the archaic language but that added to the feel of the book。

This is a good, practical book with lots of good advice regarding spending, saving and making money。 The language is a little hard to read as it is somewhat "King James" English, but the book was written many years ago so that is part of the times。 I had read there was an updated edition but was unable to locate it。 The book is around 100 pages so it won't take long to read。 Some of it can be skimmed, as for each major point of advice, there are several stories of illustration。 This is a good, practical book with lots of good advice regarding spending, saving and making money。 The language is a little hard to read as it is somewhat "King James" English, but the book was written many years ago so that is part of the times。 I had read there was an updated edition but was unable to locate it。 The book is around 100 pages so it won't take long to read。 Some of it can be skimmed, as for each major point of advice, there are several stories of illustration。 。。。more
