Summary

A nova edição da Antofágica traz o texto integral de Machado com notas e posfácio do especialista Rogério Fernandes dos Santos， além de ilustrações de Paula Siebra e posfácios da atriz Maria Ribeiro do escritor Geovani Martins。

کتابی رئالیسم از مهمترین و چه بسا مهمترین اثر ادبیات داستانی زبان پرتغالی。 موضوع کتاب خیانت است و داستانی شبیه اتللو شکسپیر。 در این کتاب اما ماجرای خیانت اثبات شده نیست و ما تا انتها هم نمیفهمیم که آیا واقعا خیانتی اتفاق افتاده یا نه。 ما فقط از دید راوی غیرتی می بینیم که خیانت اتفاق افتاده。 منتقدانی میگویند از آنجا که خیانت را نمیشود محرز دانست،‌ این کتاب داستان غیرت و حسادت است。 من خیلی موافق نیستم و فکر میکنم خیانت موضوع اصلی کتاب است و آنقدرها هم شل نیست。نکته دیگری که در این کتاب بسیار برایم کتابی رئالیسم از مهمترین و چه بسا مهمترین اثر ادبیات داستانی زبان پرتغالی。 موضوع کتاب خیانت است و داستانی شبیه اتللو شکسپیر。 در این کتاب اما ماجرای خیانت اثبات شده نیست و ما تا انتها هم نمیفهمیم که آیا واقعا خیانتی اتفاق افتاده یا نه。 ما فقط از دید راوی غیرتی می بینیم که خیانت اتفاق افتاده。 منتقدانی میگویند از آنجا که خیانت را نمیشود محرز دانست،‌ این کتاب داستان غیرت و حسادت است。 من خیلی موافق نیستم و فکر میکنم خیانت موضوع اصلی کتاب است و آنقدرها هم شل نیست。نکته دیگری که در این کتاب بسیار برایم جالب بود پرداخت نامتقارن آن است。 پیچ اصلی داستان یا همان وقایع مربوط به خیانت در انتهای داستان قرار داشت。 د آسیس تقریبا در بیش از ۸۰ درصد کتاب از فضای رمانتیک و گل و بلبل حرف میزد اما ناگهان در خیلی انتها گفت که زنش و صمیمی ترین دوستش به او خیانت کرده اند و بچه اش در حقیقت پسر دوستش اسکوبار است。 او آنها را رها کرد。 از مرگ پسرش خوشحال شد。 همه مردند و تنها ماند。 او خوشحال بود。 آن کاخ سعادت که آجر به آجر و فصل به فصل ساخته شده بود ناگهان فرو ریخت。 همه چیز ناگهانی و غیرمنتظره تعریف شد و خواننده اصلا انتظار آن را نداشت。 این غیر منتظره بودن شوکی به خواننده وارد میکرد。 راوی حسود، گویی خیلی هم دوست نداشت درباره آنها صحبت کند فقط از سر اجبار به آن وقایع اشاره ای کرد。 وقایعی که اتفاقا ماجرای اصلی کتاب بودند。 。。。more

O miserável é um gênio！ Machado sendo machado， conseguiu uma obra que é popular até hoje e continuará sendo。 Construção deliciosa e muito bem planejada， tiro meu chapéu。 E， só pra constar， ela não traiu， ele é que é doente！

como já dizia Freud: “quando Pedro me fala sobre Paulo， sei mais de Pedro que de Paulo”。 pra mim， isso explica perfeitamente o livro。 Bentinho não é confiável e nem suas lembranças， além dele ser totalmente parcial e usar a advocacia para convencer o leitor。 a única certeza que eu tive é que ele nunca amou a Capitu， nem mesmo o sentimento surgiu dele， aparecendo após ouvir uma conversa sobre a hipótese do romance。e sobre o autor。。。 Machado， você é um gênio！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 With classics， you frequently ask yourself if it is to its advantage how many things are already known about the piece and how much it has been analysed。 I went in knowing quite a bit， and it set my expectations in a certain direction plot-wise， so as I was reading I kept wondering when the main themes would show through。 For example the blurb tells you its a story of jealousy， but I only sensed that as impactful towards the main character in the last 25 pages or so。 This is one of the books tha With classics， you frequently ask yourself if it is to its advantage how many things are already known about the piece and how much it has been analysed。 I went in knowing quite a bit， and it set my expectations in a certain direction plot-wise， so as I was reading I kept wondering when the main themes would show through。 For example the blurb tells you its a story of jealousy， but I only sensed that as impactful towards the main character in the last 25 pages or so。 This is one of the books that stands the test of time， it reads well， it's not too flowery， too heavy， and the vocabulary is reasonably modern。 The chapters are short， with titles that tell you exactly where we are in the story and ultimately it's very readable and punchy， you don't get a sense that the author is trying to hard， but that things just flow very naturally。 There are aspects of it that relate to theme and culture that could be considered a voice from olden days， but with a bit of thought there are commentaries that can easily be applied today as well。 The incredibly religious community and the mother who forces Bento into priesthood are not something you'd frequently encounter today， but parents forcing their career aspirations on children is still something prevalent that many of us will be able to recognise。I liked 'Dom Casmurro' aka Mr。 Grumpy， it's a truly realistic novel that follows a life lived with its joys and regrets。 I've read other books around these lines so while it was pleasant it's not one that felt that special to me。 A solid classic that I don't regret reading， but it won't be a top recommendation for me。 。。。more

This was my first experience with Brazilian literature， so it is a shame the translation felt unnatural at points。 The story itself was interesting enough， satirizing jealousy and taking much inspiration from Shakespeare and Classical literature。I liked how the narrator Bento， as unreliable as he is， directly addresses the reader usually in a comedic way。 His unwillingness to become a priest is an effective motive to showcase the Brazilian ruling class during the mid-1800s as the Catholic empire This was my first experience with Brazilian literature， so it is a shame the translation felt unnatural at points。 The story itself was interesting enough， satirizing jealousy and taking much inspiration from Shakespeare and Classical literature。I liked how the narrator Bento， as unreliable as he is， directly addresses the reader usually in a comedic way。 His unwillingness to become a priest is an effective motive to showcase the Brazilian ruling class during the mid-1800s as the Catholic empire declined。 Also， non-chalant inclusion of slavery was a startling reminder of how recently it was abolished。I didn't love it， but it was a fast read。 I may revisit it if I become more fluent in Portuguese。 。。。more

Tenho pena de não ter apreciado este livro como muita gente o fez。 É um livro normal， com uma boa escrita。 Mas， para um livro que segue uma pessoa ao longo da sua vida toda， pouco se passa。Pouco mais de uma semana se passou e já quase não me lembro de nada。
