Es una obra de arte hecha cómic。 Tanto al nivel gráfico como a nivel de guión, nada se desperdicia。

This book is everything you want from a Wolverine graphic novel。 I absolutely loved it。 I have to admit I may have a bias though because Hawkeye has always been my favorite Avenger and Logan my favorite X-men, so seeing them team up like this was a dream come true。 *Plot*The story takes place in a dystopian future where all heroes are dead and the new wastelands are ruled by tyrannical villains。 Logan, who's now a pacifist due to a gruesome event in his past, just trying to settle down and live This book is everything you want from a Wolverine graphic novel。 I absolutely loved it。 I have to admit I may have a bias though because Hawkeye has always been my favorite Avenger and Logan my favorite X-men, so seeing them team up like this was a dream come true。 *Plot*The story takes place in a dystopian future where all heroes are dead and the new wastelands are ruled by tyrannical villains。 Logan, who's now a pacifist due to a gruesome event in his past, just trying to settle down and live a simple farm life with a wife and kids。 Logan is late on bill payments when the Hulk family landlords come to collect payment。 They give Logan a beating, which he takes willingly, then threaten to kill his family next。 That's when an old friend comes to visit Logan, none other than a blind Clint Barton。 Clint offers him a chance to make a large amount of money if he helps him deliver a mystery item in a black briefcase。 This kicks off a road trip, exploring these new wastelands and the origins of how they came to be。 *The Art*The art was absolutely beautiful。 The style worked perfectly with this story。 It was gritty, the line art wasn't clean, it really set the tone。 I loved the character design for Hawkeye especially。 *The Story* Big spoilers in this section of the review! The characters in this story are so well written。 Logan's struggle with his past super-hero identity, beautiful。 He's had a complete loss of hope for helping this world in the beginning, resigned to the fact this is life now。 In great contrast is Hawkeye's character。 He's fully driven by hope, traveling across the country to deliver super-soldier serum to who he thinks are people who are going to become new superheroes。 Miller builds these two men up to be so human。 You root for Clint's journey and I was so heartbroken when his hope was squashed and the people ended up being spies for the Red Skull。The best part of the book though is the ending。 Hawkeye is dead and Logan flies back to his family in the Iron Man suit only to see he's too late。 The Hulk family has lost their patience and left a massacre in his house。 He goes out with his neighbors to bury the family and proclaims that no longer can he stay here, all that's left is memories。 For the first time in the comic, he pops out his claws, despite all the pain he's caused with them。 He does it for Clint, for his family, for the X-men。 He goes on a rampage demolishing the Hulk family。 But he doesn't kill the brand new Hulk baby, since he hasn't done anything wrong。 He swears to protect it。 Then you see him walking off to set this wasteland world right。 It's a truly powerful ending。 *Conclusion*I highly recommended this to any Hawkeye or Wolverine fan or if you love gritty, down-to-earth comics without all the fluff。 It's a fun and easy read with some really powerful parts。 Personally, I've read this novel many times and enjoyed it immensely every time。 5 out of 5 stars definitely。 。。。more

Dark, bleak and brutal。 Imagine Wolverine raising a family and trying to be pacifist in a Mad Max world ruled by the Super Villainous after they won and this is that book。 A great premise with a very satisfying reason behind Logan's new pacifist beliefs when revealed。 It is VERY adult with the occasional dark subject matter and the obvious copious & constant violence。 The ending especially might be considered too much, however fits the vibe that this is very much end of the world and there is no Dark, bleak and brutal。 Imagine Wolverine raising a family and trying to be pacifist in a Mad Max world ruled by the Super Villainous after they won and this is that book。 A great premise with a very satisfying reason behind Logan's new pacifist beliefs when revealed。 It is VERY adult with the occasional dark subject matter and the obvious copious & constant violence。 The ending especially might be considered too much, however fits the vibe that this is very much end of the world and there is nothing left。 Not for the light hearted。 。。。more

Wolverine: Old Man Logan, this had been sitting on my shelf to read for a while。 After recently rewatching the X-Men films and Logan specifically I thought it was about time I read this and see what partially inspired the film。 Plus it’s written by Mark Millar who also wrote the fantastic Enemy of the State storyline。Before I get any further I will say this is a mature book。 This is not your average Marvel or superhero story。 This is not for kids。 There is a lot of violence, gore and gruesome mo Wolverine: Old Man Logan, this had been sitting on my shelf to read for a while。 After recently rewatching the X-Men films and Logan specifically I thought it was about time I read this and see what partially inspired the film。 Plus it’s written by Mark Millar who also wrote the fantastic Enemy of the State storyline。Before I get any further I will say this is a mature book。 This is not your average Marvel or superhero story。 This is not for kids。 There is a lot of violence, gore and gruesome moments that are fully realised here, as well as some pretty dark themes。 If that doesn’t sound like your cup of tea you may not enjoy this。If you have seen the film Logan, this has a pretty different storyline to it。 It wouldn’t be like reading the script for the film。 There are some basic principles that are the same: it’s set in a dystopian style future, has a road trip element to it, the traditional western cowboy vibe to it, and finally Logan that is no longer Wolverine。The main storyline consists of Logan having retired, he’s now a simple man, a farmer with a family to look after。 He hasn’t popped the claws for over 50 years。 It’s good to see this side of the character, but you know it probably won’t last。 So this story has a road trip quality to it, albeit a Mad Max if what was a buddy cop film。 Clint Barton aka Hawkeye reenters Logan’s life。 He needs a favour, he needs a navigator to get him from one side of the US to the other。 Now the problem is, in this alternate future, the villains succeeded and there are next to no superheroes left。 Different villains control different parts of the states。I really enjoyed the world building in this book of this dark future。 You get some answers and revelations along the road trip as to what actually happened to the Avengers, the X-Men and so on。 Plus you do get some information about the different villains that control America。 However by the end of the book there is still plenty of mystery left。 There are Old Man Hawkeye and Old Man Quill storylines, these may flesh out the world further。There are great action moments throughout this。 Plenty that are blood soaked。 There are however a couple that brought a grin to my face as they are scenarios I haven’t seen play out before。 This is brought to life by fantastic, gritty and realistic artwork by Steve McNiven - some of the best art I have seen to date in a Marvel graphic novel。 This perfectly suits the dark world we as the reader enter。Old Man Logan’s story does reach a conclusion here though。 You don’t need to have read anything before this。 You don’t need to read anything after。 There is a sequel Old Man Logan series that spins out of the Secret Wars event。 But this can be a one stop shop。 Overall I highly recommend this。 You can be a fan of Wolverine or new to the character and enjoy this。 As I said earlier you don’t need to commit to a massive run, it’s just this one standalone graphic novel for the whole story。 Even if you aren’t a fan of Wolverine this isn’t his typical story and there is plenty to enjoy here。 If you are a fan of graphic novel story telling in general or want a dystopian future based around superheroes this is it。 。。。more

A bloody western romp through the Marvel universe after the bad guys won。 While there is enough bloodshed and action as in any other Mark Millar creation, Logan's broken spirit and the emotion of this book makes it stand out。 Millar's writing quite often takes turns into comedic and tongue-in-cheek directions, something that is mostly absent here。 The tone of the book remains constant and bleak throughout where it could easily have given into the ridiculousness that one would expect from a book A bloody western romp through the Marvel universe after the bad guys won。 While there is enough bloodshed and action as in any other Mark Millar creation, Logan's broken spirit and the emotion of this book makes it stand out。 Millar's writing quite often takes turns into comedic and tongue-in-cheek directions, something that is mostly absent here。 The tone of the book remains constant and bleak throughout where it could easily have given into the ridiculousness that one would expect from a book with a cannibalistic hillbilly Huk family and a T-Rex Venom。But while Logan and Clint were both depicted with emotional depth, as round characters, the villains of this tale, unfortunately, fall too snuggly into the cliches that go with most superhero books。 Seeing as the book is only so many issues long, it makes sense that the character development is focused on the heroes。 The world that Millar created here is intriguing, and more than deserves the ongoing series that followed years later with Bendis and Lemire at the helm。 。。。more

3。5 rounded up b/c what works well really works。 Loosely the basis for the film "Logan" (the only great "X-Men" related film to yet be made), Millar and McIven's "Old Man Logan" is nerd candy comicbook fun。 It's not original--this is really just "Unforgiven" and "Mad Max" cast with the Marvel Universe characters--and it's certainly not deep。 But it's fun。 A comic store owner of a shop I once frequented replied to my question regarding "Marvel Zombies" ("Is it any good?") with "Well it ain't grea 3。5 rounded up b/c what works well really works。 Loosely the basis for the film "Logan" (the only great "X-Men" related film to yet be made), Millar and McIven's "Old Man Logan" is nerd candy comicbook fun。 It's not original--this is really just "Unforgiven" and "Mad Max" cast with the Marvel Universe characters--and it's certainly not deep。 But it's fun。 A comic store owner of a shop I once frequented replied to my question regarding "Marvel Zombies" ("Is it any good?") with "Well it ain't great literature but we like it"。 That would be a suitable answer for this book as well。 What's good about it is seeing an old, grizzled Wolverine chart a path across a supervillain controlled post-apocalyptic United States with an equally grizzled, old Hawkeye on a task to financially support his family and ending up becoming the old thing he vowed he never would again。 The world building is sheer balls-out fun with easter eggs and nods to the fans at every turn。 It does what too many American written post-apocalyptic tales do in that it simply ignores the rest of the world as if the US is all that matters but a throwaway line that leads readers to believe that the rest of the world is simply destroyed at this point "handles" that problem。 Another knock is that it does what far too many 21st century mainstream comics does in that the word count is just barely there。 I first read this issue by issue on a month by month basis back when it came out in 2008 but reading it all together now it's polished off in less than 2 hours and that's if you're taking your time to pace yourself and savor each frame (which you should because McIven's pencils are stellar and deserve your time)。 But for 21st century marvel comics this is in the top 25, probably, maybe higher。 。。。more

My personal Mark Millar rule of thumb: if he's writing something independent, it won't be bad but probably won't hold your interest。If he's writing something for DC/Marvel, read and buy it immediately。 My personal Mark Millar rule of thumb: if he's writing something independent, it won't be bad but probably won't hold your interest。If he's writing something for DC/Marvel, read and buy it immediately。 。。。more

This was pretty cool! Wolverine is now one of my favorites。 This is not the best of the world, but it's very good, with excellent art。 It's like a western story about redemption and vengeance but fifty years in the future, a dystopian future where the villains win。 The story is full of action and when you start to reading, you can't stop。 The book is also full of surprises。The ending is great! Esiosa Old Man Logan-sarjiksille。 Tässä selviää mitä tapahtui supersankareille, miksi Logan ei halua olla enää Wolverine。 Hawkeye lupaa Loganille rahaa (vuokranmaksuun!) jos tämä lähtee navigaattoriksi matkalle mukaan。 Logan suostuu sillä ehdolla ettei hän joudu taistelemaan。 Hänen osaltaan tappelut on tapeltu。 Vai onko sittenkään。。。

I love that Antman's helmet has been acquired by a kid who demands 80 cents to cross a bridge - or he'll sic his ants on you。 The impression left by a world that lost its super heroes is felt in ways large and small。Eventually we learn the horrific story of why Wolverine can't get past the night the villains took over。 It is tragic and graphic and most certainly not meant for children。Finally there is a showdown with Red Skull, dressed in the costume of archenemy Captain America。 Skull muses, "The ancients wore the skins of their fallen foes。 Why shouldn't I be allowed my eccentricities?" Seeing Skull's White House trophy room is by far my favorite detail in a book full of them 。。。 an easter basket crammed with eggs。 Skull calls Logan an "arschkreicher," hilarious! Then a final, second showdown happens with the Hulk gang。 After a whole book without Logan ever popping his claws it feels so cathartic and satisfying。 A true achievement in the comic art form。 I am so glad I have my own personal copy so I can read it any time I want。 I love this book! 。。。more
